Delicious cherries!!
Angel A.

Out of all the cherry farms in the area, Marsh Creek Cherries is hands-down the one you have to visit. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless--plenty of easy parking, no overwhelming crowds, and a warm welcome from the friendly staff who genuinely love what they do. They took the time to explain the different cherry varieties, and you could just feel the pride they have in their orchard. The cherries? Sweet, juicy perfection. You can choose from three different bucket sizes depending on how deep your cherry obsession runs--and trust me, you'll wish you brought the biggest one. The trees are loaded, the vibe is peaceful, and it's the perfect family or date-day adventure. ***Arrive early to soak in the calm before the midday rush (and beat the heat). We're already planning our next visit. This place is a total gem!

Fantastic family friendly place for delicious cherries. Took the kids and enjoyed the area along with a huge supply of cherries

Yes! Yes! YESSSSSSS!! Marsh Creek Cherries is an absolute gem and a perfect way to kick off cherry season--especially with little ones in tow. Located in Brentwood, this well-run U-Pick cherry farm is everything you want in a wholesome, outdoor adventure: clean, organized, family-friendly, and full of sunshine. The weather right now is perfect--warm, breezy, and ideal for roaming the orchards. At just $4.50/lb for u-pick cherries, the price can't be beat. The cherries are firm, juicy, sweet, and easy to pull straight from the tree. Staff encourages tasting from the branches (a definite perk), and there's plenty of low-hanging fruit for shorter visitors--no ladders needed. It's a scenic spot with plenty of parking, helpful staff, and a few extra goodies available for purchase like fruit-picking sticks, hats, water, and local honey. We brought home three small buckets of the most delicious cherries we've had all year. Pro tip: Use the restroom before you go--the porta potties leave a lot to be desired. Overall: 5/5 stars. Fresh air, fun vibes, delicious cherries, and priceless memories. Go now while the picking is still good!

Rainier

I came here after looking for Rainier cherries in adjacent farms, and I'm glad that I stumbled across this one! This is one of those lesser-known farms, so the trees are still bountiful with less foot traffic. I guess I came a bit too soon because there was only one Rainier tree that was ready for picking. While everyone was distracted with the Coral cherries, I monopolized the Rainier tree lol! But don't worry, they said there will be more Rainiers starting next week! I forgot to ask the price per lb but my batch ended up being a bit shy of 8 lbs and I paid $31 flat. So it's about $3.87/lb. I would recommend going to lesser-known farms like this one to get a better bang for your buck because bigger farms take advantage of the "tourists," who end up paying higher prices per lb. Also, note to customers: please don't complain about the orchard having uneven ground or that there are weeds/grass everywhere. Like come on, what do people expect? It's a part of ag (agricultural) life and part of the experience. Enjoy the journey and fun!

Plenty to pick even late in the season

A hidden gem amongst the cherry farms. Been here twice this season and no disappointment at all. On the first visit, the cherries were abundant from the moment you stepped into the orchard. Absolutely a great find. Because of how wonderful this place is, we came back in the morning of June 5th. This time, we had to walk into the orchard just a bit but there were still plenty of lapin cherries. First time we picked 22 pounds! Hubby like to stay in one tree while I'm a wanderer. Last time we picked 15 pounds. What do I do with all these cherries you ask? Well, have to share with family, make cherry jam, cherry pie and cherry BBQ sauce. Keep your cherries in the fridge and they will last quite awhile. They had one week left in the season. Support the locals. Many to choose from in Brentwood.

Cherries ready to go!

Too crowded? Need to wait for a ladder? Want cherries hanging off the branches? Then come to Marsh Creek. Cash only. Port-a-potties available on site. Bring a wagon. Recommend going into the fields for more ripe and yummy cherries! Just went yesterday and soooo many still waiting to be picked! Come early to avoid the heat, and traffic goin Enjoy!

TIPS: -Go early, when it opens at 8:30am -Bring your own bucket/bag -They provide some ladders but if you want to be pro you can provide your own -In late May, they still had an ample stash. The dark cherries were SO GOOD. Juicy and sweet. The bright red cherries were definitely on the more tart side. Couldn't find good Raniers. We tried to pick some that were white but they were very sour. -$3.50/lb. Cash only During COVID, you must wear a mask! It wasn't too crowded when we went, so it was easy to social distance. A fun experience for all ages. We enjoyed the cherries for days after. I also made a cherry cheesecake that turned out scrumptious, if I do say so myself.

I, like another Yelper want to tell you not to come here and that the cherries sucked but that would be selfish. By far, The BEST farm to come to. Used to come here yearly back when it was Lopez Farms but had been closed the last couple of years. New owners with a new name, Newberry Cherry. Super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back year after year.

Delicious Lappin Cherries @ Marsh Creek Cherry Farm

This farm treats you as a welcomed guest. Jo and her staff do what they can to insure that everyone that enters the property has an enjoyable experience. If you choose to pick cherries, rest assured the staff here will always point you in the right direction, assuring that you will go home happy, with a big bag of the best cherries in Brentwood. All of the staff here is great, these young people working at this farm are nice, friendly and so helpful. I picked cherries from this farm 5 different times this season the first week the Utah Giants and now the Lappins. These Cheeries ate delicious, but for me it is Jo and her welcoming staff that makes me want to continue to do business at this farm. I hope everyone has as much as an enjoyable time here as I do, and will continue to do in the future.

We really enjoyed our experience at Newberry Cherry Farm! They had multiple kinds of cherries to pick. Excellent staff that guided us to the best cherries. It was nice - they had two different sizes of buckets so our little guys got to enjoy helping. Most importantly...delicious cherries!

Very pretty but I personally like a darker cherry

Later on, we found out that section was already out of season. As we walked farther, we finally saw much better cherries, but most of the good ones were way too high to reach and there were no ladders available. There were some lower branches, but the cherries there were not great in quality, so we ended up picking only around 3 lbs. We then decided to switch to the peach and nectarine area hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately there was barely anything good to pick. Most of the fruits were either overripe, damaged, or already picked over. Overall, it felt like the farm should have better guidance on which sections are still worth visiting before customers pay and spend time walking around in the heat. The staff was fine, but the overall fruit quality and picking experience were disappointing for us this visit.

I go pick cherries at Chavez once a year for 7-8 years now. I wake up very early and try to get there right when they open so that I don't get stuck in traffic. It can get crowded. They are quite big, sweet and a little tangi. Yummy!! Just make sure to be patient and don't pick the ones that are not that dark yet. Keep going until you find a good tree. (3.5 stars, rounded up to 4)…read more The Urban Edge Farm is well-known for their peach and apricots during the summer time. But who said U-Pick season has to end after the summer? During the fall, they offer other U-Pick fruits, such as pomegranates, persimmons, and kumquats. Last weekend, we decided to try out their persimmon U-Pick. I initially found out about when their persimmon U-Pick would be available through an Instagram comment (there weren't any lnstagram posts or events on their website directly advertising this year's persimmon season), but I also double-checked by calling them the morning of before making the trek to Brentwood. The front of the farm area is a little store front, where you can buy fresh produce that's been harvested directly from the farm. This is also where you weigh your fruits after picking them. After completing the liability form via QR code, they drive you and your guests on a jeep to the fruit trees (and back). During the short drive to the persimmon trees, we also spotted baby cherry trees, a couple of pomegranate trees, and what appeared to be a grapefruit tree. As for the persimmons, there were about 5 Fuyu trees and 2 Hachiya trees. There were plenty of Fuyus available for us to pick. On the other hand, the Hachiya trees were quite bare so we only ended up finding and picking one that was ripe enough. At $4/lb for both varieties of persimmons, we ended up paying around ~$17 for 12 persimmons. The persimmons that were ripe enough to eat were nice and sweet. Getting the U-Pick experience without the summer heat and with reasonable prices was great. The only downside to this experience was the abundance of ants on the trees. The ants got on my hands, clothes, and even my face and the top of my head. The ants didn't appear to affect the quality of the fruit, since they were mainly on the branches and the tops of the persimmon leaves. I wasn't afraid of getting ants on me, but it was starting to get bothersome having to swat the ants away from my body and the persimmons I picked. I thought I had gotten rid of all the ants before leaving and getting into my car, but throughout the ride home, I spotted some straggler ants on my lap and arms, and even on the windshield! So take that into consideration if you're not particularly fond of ants.
