I would not recommend Vinnie Hyde Park Painter and Handyman. I needed two ceiling fans installed…read moreand one replaced. Vinnie requested to see the project before quoting me a price. I agreed and he showed up first thing the next day. He reviewed the newly purchased fans and the areas I wanted them installed. He quoted me a good price and said he would return on Wednesday to complete the installation. Vinnie returned on Wednesday and removed the existing ceiling fan in the front room, and said he would not be able to install the new fan. He said my building was too old, and the current electrical wire were not compatible with the fans I purchased. He said my entire place would have to be re-wired if I wanted to install the fans I purchased. He left without completing the work nor reconnecting the original fan. Which is also the main source of light in that room. Frustrating to say the least. I found another person through Yelp.com who was able to install my 3 fans and charged me a better price. The wiring was not a problem. If Vinnie did not have the time or skills for work I requested he should not have agreed to complete it.

I waited until Presidents' Day to buy a new…read moretelevision and I was so excited, I went to Best Buy and went to pick up the television I already know I wanted through research. Even though I planned it didn't quite work out as expected because the way the tv stand is designed it wouldn't fit in the same spot that the other 55 " tv before had fit . After realizing it wouldn't fit and doing some constant measurements I know this wasn't going to work, and my day changed from excitement to frustration. I immediately realized that this tv had to be mounted. Mind you I don't personally know a handyman , I just sat there saying to myself I have to return this tv , and then it hit me , I got on yelp and typed handyman and the job that was needed to be done, I answered a few more questions and then I was immediately flooded with offers to assist me . This is were Artem comes in , he not only reached out to me he gave me a quick call to fit me in his schedule that same day . His rate was just as he had promised, and his work and integrity was outstanding . What an amazing human being This day didn't turn out to be so frustrating after all . Thanks Artem and thanks Yelp followers. Great job Artem

Budget Handyman…read more Tyler is a soft spoken guy and respectful. When I first met him he seemed trustworthy, but my experience with Tyler was not good. Therefore, I want to make some points that may help you if you are thinking of hiring him. First of all, Tyler sometimes cancelled his appointments to do work, and when he did not cancel, he was always late. I received many excuses from Tyler for why he could not come, including that he was sick with food poisoning, that he was having car problems, and that he was having problems with his phone. He was very apologetic when late, but he rarely texted or called to let me know he would be late. Furthermore, he would tell me he was going to get lunch and come back in about a half hour, only to come back close to two hours later. All of this would not have bothered me if he had completed the work adequately and there had been no other problems. I hired him to do sound proofing on a wall, and he did a good job on the wall. However, while working on the wall he accidentally got drywall mudding on the ceiling. He then attempted to fix the marks on the ceiling by painting over them. The problem was that even though he tried two shades of paint, he failed to match the color, which left me with two shades of paint on the ceiling. That's when things went wrong. I suggested it might be easier just to paint the whole ceiling since he couldn't match the color, and he responded with a text saying my ceiling was not covered in the payment and if I needed the ceiling repainted I would have to pay extra. Even worse, he claimed there were scuff marks on the ceiling that weren't his fault, despite the fact that my entire condo, including the ceiling, was painted before I moved in in March of this year. In other words, he made a mistake and then blamed me instead of fixing his mistake. Unfortunately, I had already paid him for the job at this point, and he never did fix his mistake. Please take this into consideration before you hire Tyler, so that you don't have an experience like I did.

The repairman that I initially spoke with over the phone was super responsive and very polite. I was so impressed by the Yelp reviews and by the phone call that I immediately scheduled an appointment with him. After I finished setting up the service appointment we discussed the time, location, and other details. I immediately placed an order from my local hardware store and to have all the items (appliances) shipped to my home. The day before the scheduled appointment the repairman messaged me that he made a mistake and that he was supposed to schedule my appointment for the following day. He also mentioned that I did not send him a deposit to lock in my appointment as if I lost the appointment due to not paying him a deposit. I was confused! We never discussed a deposit or a deposit amount when I spoke with the handyman over the phone. I did not see the other Yelpers reference in their post anything about Zelle quick paying their repairman for a deposit. I thought something was odd I immediately thanked him for his time and told him I would not need his company to complete the repairs!
