We recently moved to Clayton CA and were looking for someone to walk and dog sit our two German Shepherds. We found Mark on Yelp and we were impressed with his Yelp reviews so we asked him to come out for a meet and greet. He has an incredibly calm and dog-loving nature which immediately won the trust of our dogs, so he has been an incredible fit for our needs. Our dogs do weekly walks with him and his sweet pup River. He is reliable and an excellent communicator with scheduling and details. He has been excellent with dog sitting as well, staying overnight in our home. He sends pictures and texts throughout his stay, so we stay constantly updated on how things are going. It is not easy finding someone that you trust to take care of your dogs AND your home, so we feel so fortunate to have found Mark and River. read more

Mark has become a staple in my animals lives. He is part of the family practically and loves my two pups so much. I trust him immensely with my dogs and have even asked him to feed them when I'm running late at work. They get so excited to see him and he helps me out on my long days working. read more

Mark is the BEST! He's been walking our pup for quite some time now and Koa LOVES his walks with Mark and his sweet dog, River. We don't have a set work schedule so it's hard to find someone willing to take on a sporadic schedule. Mark is so flexible and has even stopped by to walk our dog with just a couple hours notice. He is very communicative with his clients and excellent with animals and understanding their behavior. I'm so grateful to have found someone I can trust in our home and with our dog. I would 100% recommend him for any of your pet care needs!!! read more

I'm just not sure where to start the review. My big orangie Buster Posey has had the privilege of Mark's care for several years now. I knew it was meant to be when Mark came by to see the place and meet BP before his first weekend caring for our boy. He was on time, professional and courteous. He saw BP down the hall and immediately walked over, sat down on the floor and let Buster come to him. Much more interested in him than me; as it should be! He is meticulous with all things pet AND home, he's just our extended family now! When Buster was diagnosed diabetic I was dreading the call to Mark; twice daily injections. Never a problem;he assured me, he had other "special needs" pets on his roster...walk in the park.(Who IS this guy, and where did he come from?!) Oh, and did I mention that with every visit you get a professional photo shoot? Mark keeps me in the loop during each visit with better photos than WE'VE every taken of our boy. What a treat! Feel comfort and security adding Mark to your team; you won't be sorry. Your pets may be disappointed when YOU come home. A+ at every turn. read more

We have used Mark for about 3 years. His dog River joins him for visits and walks -- my dog absolutely loves them both. Mark is very reliable and really cares about our dog. read more

We have used Mark for several years for regular walks, training, and overnights. Our dogs loved Mark from the day they met. He speaks their language! As a boxer owner, I found it tough to find someone that understands their complex personalities and can work with them whether they are easy and excitable, or crazy and stubborn. Mark has been able to jive with any personality or mood our dogs throw his way! He is patient and kind and knows how to find the right approach for each dog. Mark is flexible with scheduling and seems to always make himself available despite his number of clients. Our first interaction with Mark was years ago...he rearranged his overnight schedule to take care of our ill boxer with only one weeks notice. He stayed by her side when we were out of town and diligently managed her medication and home environment. He has since made himself available for several overnights with all of our dogs over the years. We trust him in our home and around our family. Most recently he has taken on our biggest challenge! Our latest boy is by far the smartest, most caring, lovable dog we have taken in! Sound great, right? But he is VERY stubborn and challenging on walks and when interacting with other dogs. Mark has been a solid outlet for Bentley for the past several years. He has helped him adjust to our home and the world of walking in public. He adjusts with every challenge, big or small, and has slowly but surely been able to get Bentley to relax on his walks. Amazing! Mark is always prompt and organized. Calendar invites and invoices are always correct and timely. Helpful with everything we have to juggle these days! read more

I met Mark several years ago when he cared for my best friend's dogs, I saw how conscientious he was and how much he truly cared for both of them. This last year my job changed to require quite a bit of travel and I knew I needed to find someone who I could trust to watch over my four-legged child. I reached out to Mark, he came over the same day to meet my dog and make sure everything would work out. I am so grateful, I never have to worry about anything, Mark is so responsible and even when I have had airline issues or otherwise been delayed or had last minute changes he makes sure my pup is well cared for. Bonus that his adorable dog River is such a sweetheart and adds social interaction and fun companionship for Tuck as well. I would recommend Mark to anyone who loves their pets like family, he will always care for them like they are one of his own. read more

Mark is great! He walks my crazy boy Ziggy three times a week. He is so great with him and sends cute pictures too. Mark is very reliable and has great communication. He always brings along his dog Rivers and our two dogs are now great buddies! I really like that my dog gets extra socializing while I'm gone. I highly recommend his services. read more

Mark has been such an amazing help with pets for visits whether during the day to feed, take the dog out, help with the cats, or for longer vacations. He's been helping care for my animals for several years and always reliable and provides great care to my fur family. Highly recommend! 10 stars at least! read more

Mark has been our cat sitter since we moved to the area three years ago. He came to our home for a "mutual interview" to see if we would all be a good fit. Our Roscoe and he bonded immediately and I think they both look forward to our travels so they can spend time together. We are now up to four indoor kitties and one outdoor "feline guest" who Mark also feeds. Mark makes sure he sees everyone during his visits which requires having knowledge of their secret hiding spots. We totally trust Mark with access to our home and care of our furry family. I know I can send him a text and get a quick response either about future bookings or how the cats are doing while we are away. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Mark was our trusted pet sitter for the ten years we lived in the area. He was always available, even when we'd have last-minute things come up, and our pets loved him. We have four cats and a dog (and had another dog who passed away a few years ago), and he took excellent care of all of them. I will have to look long and hard to find a pet sitter as caring and reliable as Mark in the new town where we moved. read more

Mark treats your dogs like they are his own. We have used him for well over 7 years and he is like part of the family. He is very flexible, professional and goes the extra mile for us. I don't know how we would live without him. read more

Mark has been taking care of our pups for two years and he's great with them. Our girl had a rough life before we adopted her and she has trust issues, but Mark was able to bond with her right away. He takes care of our pets (and our house) while we are away visiting family and on numerous occasions has come to our rescue to feed them dinner when we have been away from our house longer than planned during the day. We initially tried another caregiver (a pet hotel of sorts), but had a bad experience. Our dogs mean the world to us so we were thrilled to find Mark. Our dogs love him and it's so nice to have peace of mind knowing that our dogs are happy and being well taken care of when we can't be with them. We would definitely recommend him, and have several times. read more

Mark has watched over our cat twice now and we could not be more pleased with his personal attention to our Emma. She accepted Mark right away, though she is often wary of strangers. He seems to have a gift for connecting with animals. He is reliable and thorough, keeping all of our instructions notes on his phone. Mark was very attentive to Emma and sent us pictures while we were away, just letting us know she was okay. He has several pets of his own and loves what he is doing. Can't imagine a better pet sitter. read more

I found Mark through Yelp. I was new to the Concord area and needed a trustworthy dog walker. I am one of those dog owners who treats her dog too much like a human, so I tend to be picky about who I let walk my dog. Mark is wonderful. He genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. He is extremely responsive to any questions or issues that come up. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. read more

We are so glad that we found Mark. We started using his services about two years ago. He is reliable, loves animals and he is very professional. Whenever we go out of town we dont worry at all because we know our dog is in great hands. Also, Mark has our house keys and we completely trust him. We used to have two dogs, one of whom had all kinds of medical problems and Mark was so caring and loving to her, providing the medical care she needed. If you love your dog as much as I do mine and you want a carefree vacation, Mark is your man. read more

I really can't say enough good things about Mark's dog walking service, reliability, and excellent animal care. He has been walking my Chihuahua (pictured here mugging it up for the camera and wagging her tail!) for several years, day-in and day-out, without fail. I never have to worry about my pup because Mark is so reliable and keeps an eye out for her. He takes a genuine interest in every dog/cat he cares for. He has my house keys, and my pup and I consider him a trusted friend. It's really rare to find someone who you can rely on like that these days. My pup has a "Napoleon complex", and so she tends to be skittish, sometimes aggressive towards big dogs. Mark is very careful and cautious with her, ensuring she gets the socialization she needs with other friendly neighborhood dogs, but not exposing her to uncomfortable situations. Mark is also a very talented photographer; some of the best pics of I have of my Chi girl came from Mark (at no charge). He has surprised me by capturing both hilarious and very sweet moments of my pup doing her thing! Anyone who is fortunate to be in the area to avail of Mark's dog walking and pet care services is lucky!! read more

Simply the best! Mark has been our dog walker for the past five years or so. We appreciate his overall dog/cat/pet knowledge (which is extensive) and his friendly and caring demeanor. Very fair and reasonable pricing. Our dog literally waits for the "Mark Sound" when he comes to take her to the dog park and it is her favorite part of the day. I would also trust him with a key to my home, which is saying something about his trustworthiness and professionalism. You won't be disappointed and neither will your doggy! read more

We are thankful to have found someone as caring, dedicated and knowledgeable about animals as Mark. I appreciate his care and his open communication, and he went above and beyond our expectations to make sure our rabbit was well taken care of while we were gone. We plan to be repeat customers -- highly recommend! read more

Mark is awesome! He takes care of my Daisy, my awesome bulldog. He is always there when I need him and picked up my Daisy when I was out of town. I completely trust Mark! read more

Mark watched our dogs and house this past weekend and did a wonderful job. He kept us up-to-date on their status and we came home to two happy puppies. Also, he stayed over two nights and it doesn't look like anyone's ever been here as he left it spotless. We really appreciate his thoroughness and communication and definitely we will be using him again. read more

Mark is quite the professional as he promptly got back to me after my first inquiry. Even though he is very efficient and organized, Mark is more than a smart business man. He is a very caring man as he quickly bonded with our cat. Also he took copious notes regarding care for our fish so I was able to relax while on vacation knowing our pets were in capable and loving hands. Glad to have him! read more

We have used Mark for several years now. He walks our two dogs three times a week, he also does overnight visits when we on vacation. Mark looks after our 2 dogs and 2 cats and they all love him. Mark can be trusted to give medication when your pets are under the Vets care. Mark is honest, trustworthy, responsive and super reliable, come rain or shine Mark is always there for our pets. Mark's prices are very reasonable. He spends time with our pets playing with them and generally making them happy when we are away on vacation. You are not paying just for a walk or an overnight visit, you are paying for someone who cares about animals. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark and his services to anyone. His caring attitude and hard work is great to see and he deserves all of the recognition and help that he can get along the way to building his business........great work Mark keep it up. read more

Completely reliable, professional, and great with our cats! I called Mark less than a week before our vacation and he was able to come over right away to meet with our feline pride of four. I felt totally comfortable with him as he sat on the floor to bond with each of the kitties. Normally, they go into hiding with new people, but they hung around the entire time. He also kept me in the loop via email while we were away. I'll definitely use his services again! read more

BRAVO!! Mark was awesome with our new mini poodle of 10 weeks. Totally transformed his behavior into something we could actually live with. He did a terrific job and I would highly recommend him. He was passionately involved with our dog who absolutely adores him. No one should hesitate to hire him for babysitting or training. He is the greatest. read more

This is my second review, and I'm still very happy after a couple years of Mark coming by to spend time with my cats when I am out of town. Not only is Mark trustworthy, he is honest and caring, and very flexible with short notice. But best of all, my cats love him. If I were an insecure person, I would think they look somewhat disappointed when I arrive home and walk through the door :) He is that good. Many of his reviews are filtered. Perhaps it is because they are from people who only have one or possibly two reviews on Yelp...like myself. read more

I have an EXTREMELY active dog and live in a townhouse. I had another dog walker who had to leave town for an emergency and had to scramble for a substitute. I came across Mark on the internet. He came to our house and did a very thorough interview. Our little terrior/minpin mix can be aggressive towards men sometimes but this didn't phase him a bit. He was relaxed and gave her time to calm down and after a few treats, she really warmed up to him. I was very concerned about hiring someone who would follow through with the obedience training I had worked so hard on. Mark not only did this, but he gave me reports on how she was responding as well as the occasional email with pics. A few weeks in, my husband even commented that our dog seemed more well behaved since Mark had been walking her. On top of it all, his rates are fantastic! He really seems to love what he does and I would love to see him gather more clients. He recently moved across the valley to Clayton and could use some more clients out here! read more

We have used Mark many times during the last 3+ yrs to take care of our pets (dog, two cats, fish, and (previously) hamster), including few week long overnight stays and 2x day daily visits for weekend+ lengths. Mark is very professional, trustworthy and reliable. He takes good care of the animals, and he seems to genuinely care about the pets he is watching. read more

We adopted our sweet puppy when she was only 10 weeks old. We were nervous being first time dog owners, but Mark reassured us. Before we even brought our puppy home, he told us that he would be there for her and for us. He used to visit her twice a day when she was little. He has given us so many helpful tips that we appreciate as first time dog owners, from helping us potty train to teaching her fun tricks. Mark is super reliable and has always been there for us in these past 2 years. Mark has really become a part of the family. Our dog is always so excited when Mark walks through the door! We love having him around and feel so blessed that he is a part of our lives. He has never let us down. read more

We love having Mark for our two babies, Eva and Mia. We get regular updates on how they, and our other (no walk needed) pets are doing. He is quick to respond to my questions and has offered a wealth of advice when we found ourselves unsure in a pet related matter. He is always great about accomodating our schedules if we need switch a day or time and gives pdf. copies of his bills for easy record keeping. My family has always felt comfortable having him in our home and we thank all the fellow Yelpers for helping us to find someone so wonderful for our four leged friends. read more
