I first began going to Mark and Me on a whim. I desperately needed a Brazilian, and quite frankly the salons that I had been trying when I moved up here were less then "thorough". I did an online search and Mark and Me was the first salon that popped up in google. I looked through it and was intrigued by their advertisement of the 10 minute brazilian. I called up, and spoke with Mark, who told me they could fit me in, in less then an hour! I was ecstatic. I went and my brazilian was performed by M.E. I have gotten waxed on Long Island, NYC, Connecticut, and most of Rochester. Mark and M.E salon was the FIRST SALON EVER to not only get every last hair, but was also AMAZINGLY quick ( I was used to the 45 minute wax at Delmonte Salon and Spa, but thats a whole other rant). Not only that, but with the wax Mary Elizabeth uses, I notice the redness goes away within the hour! I started going to Mark and M.E. routinely for my waxes, and still do to this very day. I have also used their hair services, from the Keratin treatments, to regular hair color, and a cut (Kristen is absolutely amazing, she truly is a wonderful stylist). I have been going to this salon for 2.5 years. I enjoy being greeted by not only the wonderful and friendly staff, but their lovable dog Bandit (who, contrary to a previous review, greets all arrivals at the door, and then goes back into his bed, and is not an allergy attack inducing dog since his breed does not produce dander *some people need to research before they post something nasty). Mark, M.E and Kristen all know me on a first name basis, and are always able to work around my ever hectic and changing schedule. This salon is NOT snobbish, it is not so uptight you feel uncomfortable walking in the door. This is perfect for the person who is looking to relax and have a great time with great people. I had read about Mark and Me online when searching for a new waxer here in Rochester.. I have moved around quite a bit and moved back to Rochester this past summer. I was a little nervous about going to a new place but the staff sets you at ease. After a short wait a young lady named Kelly took me up to one of the comfortable waxing rooms in the attic. She set me at ease immediately with her professional demeanor and her obvious skill. It had been a while but she had me up to speed in no time and had me laughing a coupe of times during the process. Without a doubt the fastest wax I have ever had.. Took a little longer than ten minutes which is OK cause tearing hair from genitals should be something done with care.. Not sure a fast wax is a selling point! I realized I needed a haircut and Kelly had me looking sharp in no time. I Had a chance to meet the owners and they were friendly and welcoming.. Rochester is lucky to have this business serving the community. I had read both positive and negative reviews and my instincts said to go to Mark and me.. I am glad I did. I just had my first Brazilian ever today with Mary Elizabeth... And I absolutely loved it!!!! I was anxious because this was my first one and I've only heard horror stories from my friends but really got sick of shaving. The experience I had was the complete opposite of every story I have ever heard! When they say 10 minutes, it's really 10 minutes!! Her personality is incredible! At no point did I feel awkward or nervous, she conversed with me the whole time, and not just about the waxing! She was sure to mention follow up care a couple of times which was great! She did not push any extra products on me. The place of business is adorable! It's in a house so you don't have to worry about large waiting rooms or thin walls where the people next to you can hear everything. Extremely clean as well! Very well managed and maintained! Afterwards I immediately made another Brazilian appointment as well as an appointment for a manipedi...she has definitely won me over not only because of her personality but also because they are true to their word! read more

I got my very first Brazilian wax for the first time on Friday at Mark and M.E. I got Sarah as my wax lady. I told her that I was nervous as hell and I didn't want to pass out lol! She told there is nothing to worry about and I'll be okay. And I was! It was really quick, she talked to me the entire time she was waxing me. It was awesome. I got up and I was like this isn't bad at all! When done, she just cleaned me up and told me not to shave in between weeks because I did shave the night before because I was really scared I was gonna pass out. She gave me her card and when I went downstairs, all the staff were really nice to me! I also found $5.00 that same morning and just gave it to her. She definitely deserved it! Thanks so much Sarah!! This will be an interesting review as I have not yet (key word) visited Mark & M.E. (I live in Atlanta but I am from Rochester NY). But I know many people who have visited the Salon and they have raved about all the services -- esp the Brazilians. They feel comfortable enough to have this service done (along with many other services) regardless of their age, gender, weight, etc. And the fact that it is family friendly is a huge plus. It is rare that you see a business who is so devoted to their clientele. I know several ladies who have had the Brazilian Wax and they are walked through ever step of the way -- along with laughter and an infectious positive nature. I've been waxed by two separate technicians (Liz and M.E) at Mark & M.E. And haven't been satisfied any of the times. They claim to be so fast and thorough, well they have the "fast" part correct. However the thorough part, not so much. Every time I've been waxed there is plenty of strays left behind. I've been torn before as well. I think that if they went a tad bit slower they would give thorough waxes. But instead they are too concerned with getting clients in and out and they do a crappy job. My friend also had her hair done by Mark. And when she left it was green. Totally tinted green. She said he just kept trying to convince her how great it looked. The best part about this salon is the fact that its a family owned and operated salon. Mark and Mary Elizabeth have been the owners for over 20 years and continue to be the best. Mary Elizabeth is the master of the Brazilian Wax. Many people from other salons "say" they were trained my her but that it pure bull shit! I have asked ME how many other people she has trained herself and the number fits on two hands. So if you want the best wax around for the best price around, go to Mark & Me. The only place I would go for a Brazilian! I have been going to ME for Brows and Brazilian waxing for almost 10 years. I'm go every 4 weeks. ME is fabulous and when she stops waxing I will go au natural. She is funny, compassionate and makes you feel like you're visiting with a friend when you go in for any service. She even waxed me through my pregnancy without any problems. If I moved out of the area I would make the trip back to ME to get my waxing done. The waxing rooms are attractive, clean and comfortable. I have been going here for years for my waxing needs. M.E. is professional, hilarious, and overall an amazing woman. She and Mark always recognize me even when I haven't been in for a while. They run a great business and I will never stop loving it here! I went to European Wax Center where they use hard wax and it was a NIGHTMARE. It took them 45 minutes of waxing the same spot over and over again. I left behind a pool of sweat on their table. M.E. makes the process so quick and MUCH less painful. I have had the pleasure of going to Mark and me for a few years now. Every time I go so far I have never been disappointed. I will be graduating soon and moving away so I will def miss this place. No matter who I talk to, they are always very friendly and easy to feel comfortable around. Mark has been doing my hair and sometimes I get cuts from Kristen.
