I moved here 3 years ago and am so thankful I found this place! I made the mistake of spending less money in attempt to save and went to Hairzoo, only to have ugly orange highlights and months of regret! You get what you pay for! My first time was with Michele, and I loved hearing her story and passion about creating a talented and calm space for her art. She is compassionate and great at serving her clients! Loved my hair after! It's really a wonderful, clean, and serene spot. The last two times I was with Ali, and I loved my hair each time! As a busy stay at home mom, I usually only get my hair done once in a while so having it look good for the long term is a must. The first time around I specifically came in bc I was getting some family photos done for the holidays. I had some long layers and balayage (I'll attach some of the family photos done by Alyssa Vanzo Photography so people can see!) Most recently I came in to get my hair darkened and shorter. JUST AN FYI they have moved to to a new location and are no longer on Park Ave.. they are on Atlantic ok.. this new space is light and bright. High ceilings and beautiful wood floors. When you come in you have a large sofa to sit and wait the colors are soft, whites/ gray/pink. What's nice is you get more natural light and a bigger space for clients and staff. Still great service as always. Michele and her group of stylists are well trained and fabulous. They are always great getting back to you if you request and appointment on the app. They always seem to always get me in and I am grateful! Jayme always makes sure I am taken care of! A little background: Having moved several times and going back and forth between home and Rochester for school, I have hopped around from salon to salon trying to find the right fit. That was until I met Jayme. For 3+ years, Jayme has done a phenomenal job with my cuts and color as I transitioned from having long to shoulder length hair. My color and hairstyle always look fantastic. Not only is she incredibly kind, sweet, and friendly, but also extremely knowledgable about products, techniques, and color. She has gone above and beyond to listen and give me pointers for maintenance at home, and teach me how to recreate blowouts and perfect waves at home (I'm talking mini-training sessions with her guiding me as I use her curling iron!) She goes out of her way to take care of her clients; she has picked up special products for my hair that I have requested. She's even helped me find my next hair salon in preparation for my upcoming move that's 5+ hours away. I fully plan to continue booking appointments with her when I am in town. Disappointed. I wanted my hair colored to match my natural white/gray tone. Ended up with more of a blonde harsh tone. I initially thought it was ok and would lighten further. It did not. I have some natural curl to my hair and my stylist kept referring to applying product and not breaking the capsule. I was too shy to ask what that meant. I got my hair cut and colored by Ali in September and I'm still obsessed with it! I wanted a complete change to go from a balayage to a nice fall brown. She nailed it. I'm always so nervous to try different salons but Ali made me feel confident and at peace right away. She is hilarious and truly just a beautiful soul. She checked in with me throughout the entire process to ensure she was doing what I envisioned. Love coming to this salon! It is always a relaxing and fun atmosphere and there is always plenty of space so even during Covid I have felt so comfortable coming in spending the time to get my hair done. Everyone is lovely but Alex is especially wonderful! She has done color and cuts on me since she got to the salon and I can honestly say I have loved it all. She is always great during the consultation giving me suggestions and looking at pictures with me so we get the perfect style and she is always great at letting me know a price estimate before she starts anything. She is truly a genius with color and excellent with cuts as well. She is always kind and fun and remembers things about me from one appointment to the next. Customer Service: Michele got back to me within 5 minutes of me sending an inquiry via Yelp! I was so impressed. Salon: cute and comfortable, it has character as do the staff! The products also smell great and everyone is welcoming; Jayme was a great host by asking me if I needed anything the moment I walked in. The wash: Jayme was gentle and careful; I have a sensitive scalp and she also listened to the fact that I had keratin treatment and used products accordingly. The blowout: it turned out great! It held so well I'm still wearing it a day later. Not a critique but an observation, her style is different than what I have experienced elsewhere. She first blew my hair out and then curled it, versus some salons curl via a brush while they blow out. This probably allowed me hair to stay longer and fall well, it looked amazing after an hour or two (she was well aware I had some downtime prior to my event). My only critique: Jayme missed a few pieces of hair that remained straight and she caught a few and fixed them before I left. When I got home I found a couple other pieces but once I ran my fingers through my hair, you couldn't even tell. read more

What a cute little place this is!! I have hated my haircut for a while now, and I was really hoping that One L could help me save it. I booked my appointment with Hannah and I loved all of it: the environment, the people, the results! Hannah was so warm and welcoming, wanted me to send her pictures, so she could get an idea of what I wanted, etc... I am in love with my hair now. Hannah did an amazing job, and she got rid of most of weird layers in my hair without chopping ALL of it off. So, i tried to dye my hair but completely messed it up so I went to Michele as I knew no one would be able to fix it but her. With the team work of the best hair stylist I ever met (Michele) and Ben, my hair turned out to be the best looking hair style I have ever seen! I went to Michele and one L on Saturday. I'm new to the area and was hoping to find a salon to go to. I have read nothing but great reviews from this salon. I also have a friend who loves going here so I thought I'd give it a try. I've never dyed my hair before so I was unsure of what I wanted. The hairstyle was very friendly and gave me recommendations based on my hair (I have wavy/curly hair). She recommended caramel highlights (which I thought was a great idea). She suggested she free hand the highlights because she stated it would be best to preserve my curls vs foil. I wish I could say I loved the outcome but frankly I don't. Maybe it just wasn't the right style for me. However, there are large and small spotty highlights toward the front of my head and nothing toward the back. Not to mention my curl pattern has lost its shape and its very dry! Does this mean it's damaged from bleach? Like I said, I've never had dye in my hair before so I'm unsure. Also, I asked for a bob haircut and the cut is very uneven. I was at the salon for almost 4hrs so I didn't want to have the stylist change anything especially since I was in a time crunch. I chose this salon because of all of the positive Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. When I first walked in I was warmly welcomed. The atmosphere there is very inviting. Something I noticed that I've never found at another salon is that all of the stylist are genuine, they get along, and aren't catty to each other in any way. They joke around with each other and seem very comfortable. I also LOVED that they didn't try to sell me any products. In my experience salons try to pressure you into buying a product they have, which is something I don't really like. Hannah was my stylist, and she did an AMAZING job. She made me feel very comfortable, and by the end of my appointment I felt like we had known each other for years. I got my hair colored and trimmed. I showed Hannah a photo of the color I wanted and she went straight to work. I explained to her that I tried to get this color in November at a different salon but they weren't able to achieve it. This was the first time she worked with my hair so she underestimated how (unusually) well my hair would take to the lifting (this was the first time I've had my hair lightened), so it did lift a bit more than she expected. When I got home that night, I realized my hair was a bit more vibrant than I wanted. I contacted Hannah that night and she got back to me almost right away. She graciously fit me into her schedule the very next day and perfected it to the exact color I wanted. The whole time Hannah was professional, but very comfortable and friendly. I would recommend this salon to anyone, but more specifically, I would highly recommend Hannah. I never once felt uncomfortable and I am beyond happy with my color. read more

MIchelle, as sweet and unpretentious as one could be, went out of her way on a Monday to squeeze me in, and I could not have been happier. She diagnosed my ailments and cured them...better than my overpriced fancy pants Italian stylist in Palm Beach, Florida where I live. If only I could return to Rochester regularly for Michelle's magic touch.
