(See pic, normally they are totally flat) She made recommendations based on my eyes and the occasion, and I felt my experience was truly personalized for me. I never thought I'd be a lash person but after my experience with Yaya I might have to keep these up because waking up this morning and leaving the house makeup free felt amazing! I thought I'd be able to put up with my over grown roots and horribly cut hair (tried to get a haircut in Rochester but that was god awful) but I couldn't take it any more so I found Metro Salon and booked an appointment with Carly. Came in and loved the vibe of the salon. Met Carly and told her I wanted to go darker for the winter and fix my hair cut. I told her what I wanted and she also helped me by giving her input. We got started right away and now I am in absolute love with my hair! I had like carmel hair with over grown black roots and now I have a dark auburn with darker roots. Love it!! she definitely fixed my hair and blended my over grown bangs into my hair so they don't look all weird. Carly is amazing! I told her I was new in town and she definitely listed a bunch of places to go to and even helped me a little with housing. Oh, also my friend was waiting for me and she fell in love with the salon too so she decided to get a manicure. We had to come back since (Sarah...I think that was her name) was busy. We came back a few hours later and she got her nails done while I just chilled. Her nails came out really nice! Loved the color and everything! Not sure how pricing is in Rochester, but compared to the places I go to in CA it's pretty average. My hair cut was $35 but I got a $5 discount because I'm a student and for coloring it was $60 (normally $55 but we had to do two different tones and what not so I understood). My friend's manicure was $30. I think everything was worth it especially since their products are all organic and I believe they said they had vegan products and what not too. My friends and I will definitely be back to try the other services like the keratin hair treatment and what not!

Stefania (Metro owner) was the only stylist I could find that was able to help. That was many years ago. The new place on University is beautifully appointed and the service is always wonderful. Stefania and her crew bend over backwards to please. After the winter lockdown of 2020 my roots grew in so much I decided to 'just embrace the gray'. My hair is not a pretty shade of gray however. Stefania now adds just the right amount of color to make it attractive. I'm very happy with it. Before Metro I had been all over town looking for someone who could 'do it right'. Once I found Metro, I never had to go anywhere else. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Once you walk into the space, you are transported into this luxe soft super clean med spa. It is tucked away past the gym, and there's ample parking and overall it is an inviting beautiful place. I am looking like a tomato right now, but I am looking forward to another session with hopefully Julianne in a few months. Beauty is pain, but microneedling is really a 1/10 pain, with fleeting moments of spiciness. She also helped me transition from my home coloring with henna, to salon coloring with milkshake products (which I love). I truly enjoy my hair appointments, and chatting with her about podcasts, binge-worthy shows, and local restaurants (she is a fellow yelper!!).
