No Transparency on cost and the communication in the beginning was great ... until the lack of transparency occured and it felt iffy. The amount of hair that was insisted to cut off just for a test strand was strange and not telling me testing my hair strand would cost was also not so good . In anticipation of traveling to Rochester, I made an appointment to get my hair cut and colored at La Salon Bianca. My schedule was somewhat chaotic and I only had 2 hours to spare for my hair. I have been getting my hair colored for years and it typically takes 90-120 minutes to get it cut and colored so I was hopeful two hours would be enough. I arrived and showed my stylist what I wanted and after consulting another stylist she mentioned that she would need 3 hours at minimum to do the color. I get it. I'm sure there's reasons it takes a bit longer here (technique etc) but unfortunately, as a busy professional, I just didn't have (nor rarely do have) 3+ hours to spend on getting my hair done. That said, I was able to get it cut and styled and my stylist was absolutely lovely and gave me a great cut and lovely style. She was thoughtful and listened to me and was very personable. If you are someone who likes a lingering, lovely salon experience, this may be your spot! read more

Firstly, the salon's atmosphere was great. I had a medium length hair just below my shoulder and wanted a haircut that is shoulder length. I had booked for a dry haircut which on their website starts from $36. The stylist was very nice and was fixing each and every section of my hair slowly. I didn't realize that that would later cost me additional money that would make it a $61 haircut. Had I known that, I would have just asked for a simple cut. I have done the same cut for years in other salons for $40. Their website does say additional charge may apply for long and thick hair but mine wasn't long and wasn't expecting it. I have nothing bad against the service I was given. The service was good but would have liked it if the costs were discussed upfront for transparency. Maybe less conversation would be better so that it doesn't slow the process. read more

I had a cut from Kristina who does my mother's hair here about 1-2 months ago. I meant to review and I forgot honestly. I am currently across the country, with no hair products besides heat shield, a hotel blow dryer, and a silk bonnet for sleeping. I washed my hair last night, dried and put up to sleep before a day of work. When I took my hair out it fell perfectly like I'd styled it for hours. I was really excited to book an appointment at the salon because of all of the high reviews. The picture below of me in a striped sweater is the haircut that I wanted to receive at my appointment today. The picture of me in the cream crewneck is the haircut that I received, which is much more similarly related to a mullet. With this being said the salon did do a nice job of trying to fix the haircut. Yes, that picture on the right is after they tried to fix it. Upon checking out, she asked me if I would like to pay the hairdresser that fixed my hair or receive the treatment For free, but at that point I was crying and just wanted to leave. At the end of the day, the other people in the salon looked like they were receiving fantastic haircuts, and I think mine may have just been a fluke thing. I had my first appointment at La Salon Bianca today for a Keratin Complex treatment. I was welcomed by Marissa who made sure I was following all the Covid19 precautions (checked my temperature at the door, showed me where to sanitize my hands and made sure I was wearing a mask before I even entered). Then I was accompanied to my seat. The whole experience was very relaxing as the ambient looks amazing. Marissa first explained the process and then started treating my hair. The treatment took about 2 hours, and I couldn't believe how beautiful my hair looked and felt afterwards. At the last moment, I decided to do a tiny trim. I'm very particular about how much of my hair I want cut and Marissa exceeded my expectations. I said "half an inch" just to get rid of those split ends and leave the length, and that's exactly how much she cut. Marissa also helped me choose a shampoo for after-care and explained how to maintain my silky hair. Parker, another hairstylist at La Salon Bianca, offered some advice as well and I left the salon very satisfied. I will be coming back again! read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a reputable salon. I had hair that was past my bellybutton. I went in wanting a style that had heavy layers. I left with NOTHING I asked for. Almost a FOOT of my hair was cut off. Jackie, the hairstylist, NEVER showed me the amount of hair she was going to cut off until it was already done. I was clear that I only wanted what was dead off the ends. Not a foot of my hair cut off. On top of that I did not even leave with any layers. I was shocked when I saw my hair and just wanted to leave. On top of that they charged me $75!!! First of all that is RIDICULOUS for a hair cut, especially because they cut off so much of my hair and I didn't even get the layering I wanted. AVOID THIS SALON. Owner has HORRIBLE customer service. If you value your hair please do not go to this salon!!!! It was not until I got to my car that I saw what damage was done. They're insane if they think I'd go back and let them ever touch my hair again. Why would I go back for more "layers" when they chopped off my hair. They did not go over pricing at all. They're insane if they think I would ever let them near my hair again with a pair of scissors Edit: My hair was dry cut and then washed. Makes no sense. And this is why I don't understand an "up charge" for long hair as mine was already chopped to hell before any "products" were used. Please do not be fooled by this salon. I didn't realize that with the shampoo and conditioner treatment there would also be a head massage. She did a wonderful job with both and I was surprised by how fast she completed such a quality haircut. She explained why what I asked for wouldn't have worked. If she thought that, why didnt she tell me beforehand so we could come to an agreement? Was rough while working with me, moving my head forcefully and without verbal requests. After I left, the business sent me links asking for a good review. I think if I'd posted one like this one, they would have discarded it. Beware. I think all the great reviews are because they delete the bad ones that are directly sent to them. Don't get me wrong. I have a black, somehow curly hair and I get an appointment from Zana. I wanted a cut with levels at shoulder level; generally after a couple of days post my hair cut, I find some problems with my hair, but not this time. It is perfectly cut and easy to style. Zana was also extremely easy to talk to and respectful. If I were living in Rochester, she would be my preferred stylist. read more

Update: The manager Kristina contacted me and was very understanding of the situation. She was very professional and refunded me due to a misunderstanding and miscommunication. They usually do charge extra for long/thick hair but since there was a special circumstance during my first appointment, I wasn't charged the extra fee. Kristina understood my confusion and distress. I'm glad she went the extra mile to really communicate with me which says a lot about her as a business owner. The haircut itself was decent and my experience in the past with Elena was exceptional. Sara was phenomenal and so genuinely nice - she took time to listen to exactly what I wanted (but also made great suggestions) and was meticulous throughout the process. They falsely advertised the stylist I had was trained in Deva Curl cutting and styling techniques. The stylist cut my hair dry, but didn't go curl by curl as a Deva curl trained stylist would have. The colors of this place are earth tones and it looks like they have about six stylists working could be more but that's my guess. My friend Nick had left his other place of employment (he was also a manager) and came to this salon to expand his horizons and education. He's got a following and he's been here for a week... I've not had a haircut I have a stylist for that, but I see Nick for my blowouts and he's part of my glam squad.. You don't have one.. You gotta have one.. Really... Seriously.. The staff is pleasant and the prices are quite reasonable. Granted it's in an odd location but hell you can find parking, go to the grocery store.. Bill Gray's is here you can have lunch. They do makeup, manicures and other things. I'm only here for the blow outs from him, they are stellar why can't everyone do them like he does. The other stylists are very skilled its apparent. I made an appointment with Nick though was informed he was ill when I arrived and was told I could reschedule or have Elena cut my hair. I chose to go with Elena. Let me just say, she listened and was absolutely amazing. I have a pixie cut and feel when I have strayed from past stylists, I have wound up with a masculine crop. I booked a Brazilian bikini wax. Stuff that was not good: 1). I did not end up receiving a Brazilian, it was at best a regular bikini wax, although charged as a Brazilian. Not sure if they aren't aware of the difference (although its listed as such), or just figured I didn't know the difference. 2). Strips were used, rather than hard wax. I was assured it was preferable. I was left with a very visible/painful blood blister (which is why I didn't press for more waxing to clean up what was left). 3). They were running 15+ minutes late, and it turns out it was partly because the woman ahead of me was super hairy, hadn't been wax in 2+ years, on her way to Greece, etc. (very much TMI). read more

My graduation is at this weekend so I wanted a little trim for my split ends and maybe some treatment on my hair. I have really damaged hair because I bleached it three times and the end of it just became super dry and fizz all the time. Ashley is such a great stylist she listens to my concerns and I also told her that I have tried multiple treatment at home/other salons but none seems to work. Unlike other salons who only cares about the profit so they tried to convince you into more services; Ashley suggested that we should cut the end first and see if any additional treatment is needed. She is very careful and smooth while shampoing my hair and the cut process was flawless I am so glad that I choose this salon and I wish that I knew this place earlier!! I have naturally curly hair, so this visit was with Audrey, who is a master at Curly Girls and has a Deva cutting certification. I cannot tell you how beyond satisfied I am. My hair looks amazing. Audrey was so patient and kind. She listened and completely understood my needs and concerns. I felt so at ease. She explained the entire process and what she, as the professional, thought would be best for my hair texture and type. Ever since I was a kid, I never really cared about who cut my hair or what it looked like. I just wanted it shorter. I've been going to the same barber in NYC for years now, mostly as a favor to a family friend, but I never really liked the way he cut my hair. NEVER. I was visiting my girlfriend who attends MCC and she mentioned my hair was getting long. I figured I would surprise her and get my hair cut while she's in class. Without a care in the world I googled "haircut," and chose a salon that was close with good reviews. I chose La Salon Bianca and drove over to the plaza not really thinking much of it. Little did I know, my entire hair cutting world was about to be rocked. I was greeted immediately by Christina who had the personality of a saint, she was extremely enthusiastic and made me feel like I was the most important person in her life. She took my information, asked me what I wanted, and offered me bottled water or a cappuccino. I was literally blown away because no one has ever offered me anything at a salon before. I felt like a king who inherited a small country. Nick cut my hair, he knew exactly what I needed and took care of me immediately. He has a very nurturing and all-knowing personality, he explained everything he was doing and I felt 100% comfortable putting my hair in his hands. I told Nick my life story, something I have never done before but his charisma got the best of me and I felt like we've been friends for years. I love my haircut so much; I almost love it more than my girlfriend. I never thought going to the salon would be so much fun. This salon is a very elegant and cozy place with quality hair stylists. It's tucked away in the new tops plaza off Jefferson road. I was greeted very warmly by the receptionist as well as the owner who is extremely nice! They showed excellent customer service and were very personable. I had my hair cut by Audrey, a master stylist there, who is also very friendly with excellent customer service. I felt very pampered the entire time, they offer you a beverage when you walk in: bottled water, coffee, cappuccino. Audrey took her time and consulted with me through out the entire time I was in her chair, and made sure we were both on the same page and that I liked what she was doing or about to do to my hair.
