Andrea has been my hair stylist for the past several years and I would never go to anyone else. I see her every three weeks for either an eyebrow wax or hair appointment and she delivers every single time. I used to see her when she worked at a different salon but now that she owns her own salon it was an easy decision to follow her there. The salon itself is in a very convenient location with easy parking and is lovely inside. The decor is stylish yet comfortable and it has a very relaxing vibe, like a high end spa. I have changed up my style and hair color on many occasions over the past several years and Andrea has always done an amazing job of listening to what I want and guiding me to the best color/style for me. I completely trust her to take things in her own direction if I'm uncertain of what I'm looking for and she truly takes the time to consider my personality and lifestyle when styling my hair. She always does a fantastic job and I recommend her to all my friends and family. A great stylist is hard to find, especially one with such a wonderful personality. She has so much passion for her work and the skills to execute any and every request you could have. The one thing Andrea won't do is let you leave the salon with a bad style or color. If you request something that won't look good with your skin tone or work well with your hair thickness, she will find a way to achieve the look you imagine in your head but make it fit for your own individual attributes. If you're looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend giving Andrea a try and I guarantee you'll find your stylist for life. read more

Andrea has been my hairstylist for about 3 years. She has great instincts and skills. I trust her completely with not only my hair, but my image. I continue to carve time out to see her even though I have moved away from the Rochester area. I have thick curly/wavy hair. Her DevaCurl cuts constantly bring out the best in my curls. She also colors my hair, ranging from highlights to all-over-color (yikes, gray coverage now!). I am never disappointed with how rich the color turns out and how she manages to "get" the look I'm aiming for. At my last appointment I also consulted with Andrea regarding the makeup analysis. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I received a very thorough understanding of how to improve upon my makeup routine. She gently suggested swapping some products out for better ones, but did not pressure me. She walked me through applying foundation with a brush, blush/bronzer, under-eye concealer and a morning/evening skin care routine. (I asked her to focus on skin care/ foundation application, otherwise she would have gone into eye/lip makeup more too). Andrea is worth the money you're spending on her services. The attention to detail, creativity and sheer skill makes her not only a hairstylist but a real artist. read more

I have been going to Andrea for the past two years and I refuse to go anywhere else! She has a great approach to her clients in that she asks a lot of questions about overall desired maintenance, look, etc., and she provides great suggestions on how to achieve those goals. I have had both long and short hair, highlights and lowlights, and I have loved each style and color mix. Andrea has also been a great resource to me in understanding hair products and what works best for me and why. My hair has been more healthy in the past two years than it has been my entire life - and I have gotten more compliments on my hair than ever before! The salon space is inviting, relaxing, and welcoming. I love the location and there are excellent on and off-street parking options, which is always a plus when going downtown. The salon, and building as a whole, is clean and accessible, and has a certain charm to it, being an old mansion. I highly recommend Parlour to anyone who wants an engaging and comfortable salon experience and ultimately wants to feel good about their look! read more

Last night I had the pleasure of receiving another gorgeous hair cut from Andrea! I have been a client of hers now for four years or so, and have always been completely satisfied with everything she has done. The wonderful thing about Andrea, is she listens. She listens to your concerns, your habits, your styling issues, what you do and don't like about your hair, and then offers her professional opinion. What I love is that she usually gives me two options about what we can do, either this, or that, which is perfect for me! I am not a very decisive person, but I do know what I like, and Andrea talks it out with me until we reach a decision. Andrea also knows her product. She knows each ingredient, and the effect they have on each other, along with your hair. I have never met a hair stylist with so much insight into what their products are. Definitely give Parlour a call if you prefer personal consulting, styling, and wonderful service! Also, Amy does a lovely job welcoming clients and making them feel right at home in the front area. read more

I used to be one of those girls with perpetual bad hair days. That is, until I went to Andrea for my haircuts. Luckily for me, Andrea is the best stylist I've found and she is now the only stylist I want cutting and styling my hair. Andrea is skilled enough to create perfect styles to suit each hair type. My hair tends to be poofy, neither curly or straight. Andrea can cut my hair so that it either encourages the curls, allowing me to experience some pretty curls in my life, or we can cut it so it lays smooth and straight. She also shows you how she is creating the style so that you can learn how to style it at home. Since going to Andrea I have discovered a love for my hair and I am always confident that she will create the look I want! I would highly recommend Parlour Salon to anyone looking for an amazing hair cutting and styling experience! read more

Andrea is a fantastic stylist - I have truly never had a better cut. She listens closely to what you want as a customer, and she offers her own insights (hard-earned knowledge after years in a variety of salon settings and from extensive training). She is also just a generally wonderful person to spend some time with while pampering yourself - she knows the local area well, has great tips on what to do/where to eat, and will also share gems of wisdom on fashion. Her new space is terrific - there is a beautiful waiting area, a great mini-kitchen (with coffee drinks, pastries), and a wonderful/private styling space. If you need a cut, this should absolutely be your first and only stop. read more

I went to Parlour for the first time one week ago and am still excited about my appointment! Andrea took the time to get to know me and my personal style. She translated that into a cut like I've never had in my life. My thick, semi-coarse ginger locks finally have movement and lift! Not only do I love my cut, but I left Parlour armed with information and the right products to take the best care of my hair and scalp. The Surface product line was nothing I'd ever heard of prior to my appointment, I'm now a customer for life. Andrea's recommendations were right on, just 7 days and two uses later there's a clear improvement in the health of my hair. read more

Have you ever had the experience where total strangers stop and inquire about your hair and tell you how great it looks?? And then they ask who did it.. I personally experience that all of the time and I am always quick to share what a fabulous stylist Andrea is. From the consultation before the cut, to the head massage during the shampoo, I feel like a million dollars when I walk out of the salon. I sometimes may need to delay my appointment beyond the expected life of the haircut but I am always able to continue to have great looking hair (despite the delay)as a result of her expertise. read more

Having curly hair, I can't thank Andrea enough for showing me how to take care of my hair to finally get the curl definition I've always wanted as well as the hassle free curl maintenance that I never knew was possible. Not only have I learned to love my curls, but the color she does is amazing and I get so many compliments from people thinking it's my natural color. Apart from her incredible work, the atmosphere is great. The mix of vintage and modern is very welcoming. In addition, the attention to your needs is unprecedented in any salon I've ever been to in terms of drink selection. read more

My curly hair is so happy now that I've found Parlour & Andrea. I hadn't had a haircut in a couple of years because I was really sick of wasting money at your average salon on haircuts that never really did much for me. I started using Deva Curl products and a few months later had my first cut with Andrea, and I'm finally happy with my hair! It feels so much better - healthy and soft and natural - and it actually looks good nearly everyday. I'm so happy to have finally found a stylist that knows how to make me and my hair feel good. =) read more

I love having Andrea cut my hair. I am pretty fussy, and having fine, straight short hair, it is a relief finding a stylist that listens to what I want and need in a good hair cut Each time I come for a haircut, she always asks me how it worked for me and does she need to change anything..she always listens and offers suggestions. I have been a customer of this salon since it opened. I have found the that the owner, Andrea Bonawitz, has a very high level of expertise in both consulting about hair coloring and styling, and the execution of what is proposed. The end result for me has been discovering a better look than than would have been possible from just my own views on these matters. She definitely begins with what the client wants, and adds her unique understanding of color, fashion, and style to ultimately exceed expectations. read more

Andrea has been doing my hair for years now and I recommend her to everyone because people ALWAYS ask me "who does your hair?" Her enthusiasm, talent and creativity are hard to come by so I will continue to follow her wherever she goes! I have also relied on Andrea for wardrobe consultation! She helped me go through my closet and determine what I should keep and what I needed to part with. She is a gem and her new place is beautiful! read more

Andrea just took over the Parlour space from my old stylist, who I loved. I was anxious about the change, but I needn't have worried. Andrea took time to understand what I want, and I left with a hair style I loved. She also took time to explain how to take care of it, so I've looked good ever since. I'll definitely be going back! read more
