It was alright. I can't tell if the lady was new at this or if it was me, but this was one of the most painful waxings I've been too. I've only gone waxing twice before but I never had any pain when I used to go, but this time it just felt like a world of pain. I usually have a high pain tolerance so I don't know if it was the wax they use, if she just wasn't as experienced (she was a new worker) or if I was just having an off day or something. On top of that there were spot of hair that she either missed or didn't do. The lady was nice and sweet and very comfortable to be around. It also only costed me around $74 with tip and tax. Was it the worst, no. Will I come back, probably not. Would I recommend this place, maybe. I think it's a good place to get a moderately priced waxing. Booking is easy and like I said staff was super sweet. But when it comes to the quality of the waxing I expected better. read more

Really nice atmosphere - you walk into a nicely decorated, relaxing space. There is a hot pot for tea and water. I had only had my eyebrows waxed before (and was getting more done before my wedding & honeymoon - Brazilian, legs) so I was nervous, but Sarah made me feel comfortable and was quick and thorough! She chatted with me the whole time and put me at ease. The waxing lasts me a few weeks, which is nice. I've gone back monthly since. She is very professional but personable at the same time. There's a discount if you do a Google review, and she also has a reward punch card. read more

I've been going to Sarah for almost 2 years. Followed her from Alexander St to her new, beautiful space on Monroe Ave. She's extremely personable, easy going, and FAST, all of which are important attributes of anyone who is putting hot wax on your lady bits. Or directly over your eyes. Pricing is pretty standard for similar services offered locally. I was impressed that she kept her prices the same after the move to her new larger space! Decor is very shabby chic and cozy. I also appreciate her flexibility to squeeze in a quick brow or lip wax was even if it was not part of my original booking. I tried several other popular wax salons across Rochester before settling in at Relax and Wax for good. read more

I was very nervous to get my first ever Brazilian wax, but I did it anyway because who has time for fear? The waxer was Sarah I believe. She made me feel very comfortable and distracted me with conversation. The wax was over in 10 minutes and was very well done. I thought the wax would really hurt, especially when on such a sensitive area of the body. Though I have a higher pain tolerance than most, the waxing didn't hurt much at all. It stung the minute she pulled off the strip, but stopped stinging right after. A shower later did make the area feel like it was burning, but just for a little bit of time. I was also nervous of how awkward it would be to have a stranger all up in that area, but the waxer was very professional! The boutique is on the second floor of a building that looks unoccupied. When you walk in, there's a sign that let's you know where the boutique is. I parked in a lot a house away from the building because I didn't know where I was going! But I didn't get any tickets, so it worked out. The price, $60, seemed average for this area. I checked out other places and they all were that price or more expensive. read more

I was nervous about going to a new waxer after relocating to Rochester. I couldn't be more impressed with Sarah. She was professional and friendly and put me at ease. On top of that, this was the least painful Brazillian wax I've ever had and it had been a while, so usually that's more painful. Also as a chubby queer girl it can be intimidating to go to a new waxer in a new town but I felt totally comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend her and will definitely be back. read more

I am very impressed with my gel manicure. It's been almost three weeks and I haven't had a chip yet. I'm clumsy and usually chip my nails by day two. Ashley C. is both friendly and efficient. I don't usually keep up with my nails, but I will be returning to Ashley on a regular basis. read more

Such a cute little place! Very clean and adorable decor. I was going to my first Brazilian wax ever and she was so nice. She made me feel comfortable and have great advice for after care. I was done in 10 min and she distracted me with conversations. Comparable prices to surrounding salons. read more

Relax & Wax Boutique is the ONLY salon I will go to from this point on! I have gotten numerous facials throughout the years. I often choose them because not only are they good for your skin they're also relaxing, so they're a win win situation! The facials I have received from Sarah have been far superior to any others. And I have gotten some from the "big name" places in Rochester. She always knows exactly what my skin needs. I normally have very sensitive, dry skin & after visiting her my skin always looks flawless! The added neck & arm massage is just the icing on the cake. Sarah is always extremely professional & it is obvious that she knows her profession! She is my go to girl for all face/body treatments! I have also recently had the pleasure of receiving a 45 minute Neck, Back, & Shoulder massage from Molly Smith at R&W. It was the BEST massage I have received thus far. LOVE Sarah! I used to get Brazilians regularly and when I moved to Rochester was nervous to find someone I felt comfortable with. I found Sarah and couldn't be more happy, I recommend everyone to go to her especially if you're hesitant on waxing. She's extremely knowledgeable and talented at what she does. Sarah is really the best at what she does. I've never been one to do waxing before, but now that I've had a taste of her process and who she is, I'm more than open! I went to her for a lash lift, which I absolutely LOVE. In this era of microblading and eyelash extensions, it's hard to find natural equivalents, but I did with Sarah!
