I also saw a hose that I thought may need to be changed. Also my trailer brakes were not working. I expected to leave Daves Marine spending approximately $4000 due to all the issues my boat had at that time. A few days later, I received a call indicating that they were able to repair my brakes without replacing any parts which was great to hear. Dave also said the hose did not need to be repaired at this time but maybe in the future it would be a good idea. Dave completed the service on my boat, installed new batteries, replaced a surge pump and it's running great. I am pleased and feel lucky to have an honest boat mechanic That's not trying to rip me off every turn that they can. Daves Marine could have easily told there were things wrong with my boat that weren't ( surge brake parts, hoses, etc) and I probably would have paid to have them repaired. I love spending way less than I expected. Thank you to Dave and his wife for being such an honest business. Daves Marine has a lifetime customer as long as I live in California.

The owner water tested the boat and came back with a giant black 3-4" wide by 10' long rubbery stripe down one side of the boat...obviously hit something like a dock bury etc. He said it was just exhaust marks...I've been around boating for 51 years and this was in no way an exhaust ring on one side. They had to use an industrial solvent to clean it off and ended up etching a one foot stripe on the hull of my boat...also a giant scratch, of course everything with this guy is debate. I had the boat completely cut/buff detailed just days prior with full set of pictures at every angle showing the gel coat and boat looking beat with no scratches or marks. I'll never go back to this place and hate writing this but the service and work done at GS Marine was terrible!!! Also, the boat was an absolute mess full of pine needles and covered in dirt. HORRIBLE customer service. The staff again however were very helpful and totally understanding to all the issues and very apologetic. Maybe it's time for the staff to open their own shop and turn out great products that customers are telling all their friends about ???

I needed free-backing drum brakes installed on my boat trailer, along with all the wiring. My trailer originally didn't have brakes, and I thought it would be a simple project--but I was completely wrong. I found this company on Google, gave them a call, and just three days later they came out to do the installation. My first impression was excellent. They were friendly, professional, and even cracked a few jokes while explaining exactly what they were going to do and how long the job would take. Their work truck was clean, they were well-organized, and all three technicians were professional and respectful. I left them working in my garage while I went to work, and when I came home a few hours later, everything was finished. The installation was outstanding. My garage was spotless, the brake system looked professionally installed, and all the wiring was neatly hidden inside the trailer frame instead of hanging underneath.
