BUYER BEWARE! Do not ever bring your boat to Corona Marine. They stole 15k from me and refuse to give me my boat back. I blew my engine in May 2020. My insurance paid Adam at Corona Marine almost 15k over a year later no work done and he refuses to give me my boat. My bad for not looking up reviews on this place as he has done this to many people. I don't know how he is not in Jail yet but I will be trying to get him arrested for this and suing him. read more

I used to take my boat to another marine repair shop but the owner has since retired. I went online to find another shop within my area of Corona, Ca. Corona Marine was number 1 on the list as the closest distance to my residence. I looked at the 2 1/2 stars rating and thought that I better read the reviews. There are a lot of 1 star and almost as many 5 stars. I decided to give them a chance to prove themselves as 5 stars worthy. I brought my boat in to have the trim senders replaced. I purchased the part, which was made by Mercury, because I wanted a quality part and I didn't want to have to pay for another 4 hours of labor because I bought a cheaper brand. Joe, who I think is the owner, told me give to them a couple of days to complete. After four days of not hearing from them, I drove over there to find out the status of my boat repair. Dale, one of the mechanics, approached me and said that Adam was working on my boat and he can explain the situation. When Adam finally got to me(25 minutes later), he said, "you got the wrong part. I had to order the part." I said okay when did you order the part? Adam wouldn't tell me when he ordered it. He said getting parts is slow right now. I said that I understood that shipment is slow right now. My first issue is that nobody at Corona Marine tried to contact me to informed me that I had bought the incorrect part and that they had to order one. And Adam was not customer friendly when he was speaking to me. Second, when I went to pick up my boat 2 1/2 weeks later, Adam again was rude to me when he was explaining about the part and the loose outdrive pin(s). He was the person taking the payment so he asked if I was paying cash or credit card. I said credit card. He did NOT say anything about a credit card fee. Otherwise, I would have gone to the bank to get cash. $23.99 credit card fee!!! So they earned their 1 star rating from me for lack of communication, rude head mechanic(Adam), and the ridiculous credit card fee. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT HERE!! You've been warned. Adam provided the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced in my life. I brought my boat there on October 2020 to get a cracked and rusted rib repaired on my boat trailer frame. and to have any other rust EVALUATED. Keep that date and scope of work in mind. Several months passed with no communication from Adam. I called and the calls would go to VM or his workers would pick up and tell me that Adam would get back to me with status. I e-mailed and he would tell they are still working on my boat and that Covid was causing problems getting the work done. Fine, I could understand a couple months for a job that should only take an afternoon, but 7 months is ridiculous! While I was waiting all these months, in April 2021 he sends me pics of some welding work on the front of my boat trailer that I didnt authorize nor get estimates for. I complain about that in an email. Finally after months of waiting, Adam said I could pick the boat up on May 19th 2021! He gave me a block of times that I could arrive to retrieve it. I said I would be there at 4pm. On the way to the shop, he says that hes not at the shop and is on the water doing sea trials and wont be back until 6pm. I arrive at 4:30 and proceed to wait. He doesnt get back until 9:30pm. Then has me wait in my truck in the parking lot (while he finishes up some minor things on my trailer) until 12 AM! I finally see the boat and he didnt even do the work I had originally brought it in for. The rear rib on the frame is still cracked and the only work they did was the front unauthorized work. He presents me with a new work order he typed up with the unauthorized work and tells me to sign it. I refuse to sign and he says that I cant have my boat then. I've been waiting for 7 months, I'm not about to wait more months while it gets dragged out in court, so I reluctantly sign. I didn't get my boat out of his shop until 1AM the next morning and i had been there since 4pm!!! And when I get home and look at the work in the daytime, I see that they emptied the brake fluid out of my surge brake and lost the plug and cap. They removed my bow tie down "Boat Buckle" and didnt put it back. The welding they did was beyond substandard and the front pillar where the winch mounts is not welded, but stuck on with a couple tack welds and painted over Bondo. I believe they did their BS welding job while I waited in their parking lot for 8 hours. So they had my boat for 7 months and did nothing!! The pictures will tell the entire story. Look at the email string. Look at the pics. Its undeniable!! DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT HERE!!! read more

A friend recommended I go to Corona Marine. I took my pontoon boat there and the owner Joe and Adam were cordial in the beginning. After months and months of it sitting there, nothing was being done. A friend of mine, who is a boat mechanic, but didn't have a place to work on my boat, towed me over there in his Pontoon trailer. It sat over there for weeks. Finally, my friend needed his trailer back, so Corona Marine used a forklift to put my boat on blocks. There it sat for nearly 2 years. I heard excuse after excuse as to why the work wasn't getting done. When I finally had had enough, I threatened to come and get my boat. You should've seen them jump through hoops to make that happen. They claimed they powder coated my boat (they used rattle can spray paint). They also changed out my wood floor and after only a couple of years it began to crack and fatigue. These guys overcharged me but I was in a pinch and they knew it. They gouged me and then charged over $300 for credit card fee. I hoped they would go out of business, which they finally did. I would warn you to stay away from these nonprofessionals, but thankfully, their business closed down. read more

My 5* review is for the Corona Marine customers that took the time to post here for others to read. I have lived in Corona 20+ years and have been boating 45 years. My boat shop in HB finally retired and I was forced to find a new shop so I looked for one close to home. I was mortified reading these reviews, and I read every single one of them. I am so thankful for everyone that posted here. I need a full engine block rebuild and wanted to do a high performance rebuild while the motor is out of the boat. I also want to do a full stereo and electronics upgrade. Did some research, made some calls and trucked my boat 4 hours to Havasu for the work rather than deal with nightmares like this. Thank you all, and I was sad to read about your experiences. read more

I have been taking my boat to Adam for 5 years now, He is honest and does a great job, He and Joe have always taken care of me, And on a few occasions, have talked me out of spending $$ I really didn't to spend, I wanted to buy a stainless Prop because I have bent aluminum ones on several occasions, Adam explained that its better a replace an aluminum prop @ $125 verses damage to my drive that could be in the thousands. He could've just said nothing & sold me a $400 plus prop. Also talked me out of changing my bimini top when I really didn't need to, and again could have said nothing and ordered me a new canvas, that was five years ago. thanks for all the help guys! read more

Its hard to even condense this terrible experience into anything less then a book but ill try. Bought a second hand jetski with a salt clog so it wouldnt flush. I spoke with the shop and was told it could be resolved in a weeks time. I dropped the ski off and a few weeks went by while I studied this yelp page. I knew i had made a mistake. The shop told me the ski didnt have a salt clog and that it needed to be flushed differently then the honda jetski I have had for five years ( even though the two skis are a year apart in age and the manuel indicated It flushed the same as my 05. The shop told me the owners manuel was wrong and the ski had no clogs in cooling system despite Overheating and not flushing ???? He told Me it needed a sensor and recommended a prop. Im very sorry i let Him do any work but after returning to the shop there 3 times he left the ski torn apart and i couldn't get it back without him reassembling. Took him 2 1/2 months to get the prop and part. Ruined my whole Summer with the ski. His estimate changed from 72o dollars to 1200.00 and i feel he overcharged me since he was annoyed I kept coming back to him for updates. I found stainless prop from local seller and could have had the part Overnighted to him. His part took two months to arrive. I suspect he orders from china at A reduced rate to make more Overhead then buying parts from local suppliers . I kept telling Him i could get the prop in 2 -4 days tops. After getting the ski back from this shop the ski immediately Overheated just as before . The shop also neglected to put a hose clamp back on causing them internal engine to begin flooding . I called all my top bmx riding friends and they referred me to jet world sports near castaic lake. ( pro riders knew of a mechanic there that formerly Worked for honda watercraft . After a long drive up there the mechanic had extensive experience with honda. He flushed a salt clog out and i had the ski back in four days. 420 dollars. I would love To see adam face a judge for all the bad service and misdiagnosis littered all over this yelp account. He could have gotten me killed by neglecting to replace the hose clamps In the water system . He has no employee mechanics so dont expect to get Your watercraft back anytime soon after drop off. He misdiagnosed my ski. Overlooked the problem after I showed him in the owners Manuel. Ordered parts that should have taken days from local distributors and took months. Replaced un needed parts and never fixed the problem I brought the ski in for. In all my years on the earth ive never had a worse experience with any mechanic or shop / cars trucks razors jetskis anything. If you have already dropped off a watercraft at this shop return with a lawyer and make them re assemble. This guy has no business running a shop . read more

Let me begin by saying I was skeptical at first. My husband and I purchased a used boat about 2 years ago and we've struggled to get it to run right ever since. We have taken it to at the very least 6 other shops who all said they fixed the problems, none of which actually did. We ended up bringing it in to corona marine last minute before a planned trip. Adam helped us, he was knowledgeable, and friendly even though he was obviously busy. He had our boat ready to go next day. After arriving at the lake for our trip we took the boat out and it ran perfect. The next day while in the middle of the lake our boat wouldn't start. My husband called the boat shop and spoke to Adam who actually took the time to walk my husband though what he could do to get it started. We managed to get it back to shore safely and Adam assured us he would call us later that evening to see what else he could do to help. He spent 3 hours that evening ( on a Saturday evening) on the phone with my husband Jeff walking him through everything. It ended up being a stupid loose wire which we fixed and ended up having the most amazing trip. Adam went above and beyond by taking his own time to help save our trip. I don't know of any mechanics that would be willing to do the same. Thank you Adam, you're a trip saver To the people who wrote nasty reviews, you get back from people what you put out to them. We will be bringing our boat only to Adam from now on. We ended up having the best vacation we've had in our 26 years of marriage!!!! Thank you Adam! read more

I believe all the 5 star reviews on this YELP page are fake. PAID for reviews (trust me, they are easy to buy)....the rest are all 1 star reviews. Notice there are no 2,3 or 4 star reviews. NONE. Something doesn't add up. I brought my boat in for a tune up / carburator rebuild. The quoted me and when I went to pick it up, the charge was TWICE as much! Plus they replaced my battery because they said it was dead. The battery was brand new and I told them I wasn't paying for a bettary and to put my original old one back in and remove that UNauthorized charge from my invoice. How about attempting to CHARGE the battery first...or maybe calling the customer and asking if they WANT a new battery for $150 (NOT!). Anyway, I have found them to be too loose with the quotes and the upselling. read more

Amazing Service. My husband and I took out boat to Corona Marine to do a lot of maintenance. We have ran the boat in over 6 years and wanted to get a professional to run through the boat and make sure everything is tip top. After dropping it off a few days later, Joe called and went over all the thing I would need to do to get the boat up and running with no issues. He recommended a few upgrades to the boat which I liked a lot. If I can improve my boat why wouldn't someone give me the option to do so. Once we went over everything and I mean everything, even the things that didn't need work he went over with me. After he went over the boat he said since the trailer was sitting for so long, he wanted to go through the axels, tires and breaks. He recommended new brakes which, truly we did not even thing about. I told him YES! Please do the breaks!. He also recommended tires due to dry rot. After they services our Boat and Trailer we came and pick her up and she looked and sounded amazing. Sounded even better then when we put it away 6 years ago. We went to Havasu the following weekend and we had an amazing time. The boat ran great and the horse power has increase due to the upgrade Joe mentions to us. Overall we are extremely happy with the work Joe and his team put into out Boat. We highly recommend Corona Marine to any friends or Family. Friendly, Affordable, Professional, On-Time read more

Have taken our boat to Adam at Corona Marine a number of times the last few years to fix a stalling problem. He sounds knowledgeable, and is very nice, but we spent a lot of money and he never fixed the problem. So after having the same problem after he "fixed" it the last time, we took it to Dave's Marine in Chino and now it runs like new again. I think Dave just has more knowledge and diagnostic equipment. If you need boat repair/maintenance....my recommendation would be to take it to Dave, not Corona Marine. read more

To start i would not let these guys fix my lawn mower. About as unprofessional as i have ever dealt with. They told me what they fixed and i knew better and all the repairs i asked Joe to do where not addressed at all. Actually i don't think they even looked at it. I went the same day after they repaired the boat and dropped it in the water with the same problems. It was not fixed.I went to another shop and they fixed it in just a few minutes and didn't even charge me. They lie and have no idea what there doing and even make up prices on the invoice that were clearly not even checked. I strongly recommend going somewhere else. read more

SAVED MY WEEKEND! It's never good when you are packing and prepping the boat in your driveway 3 days before a boating weekend and your drive belt stops to a screeching halt. Adam at Corona Marine gave me hope that not only would he give my boat prompt attention but that he was confident they would be able to get me out on the water that weekend. (Adam actually kept the yard open for an hour past closing so that I can drop it off to him immediately after speaking to him.) He found and fixed the issue (water pump) and also continued to perform a full service job on the boat. I had the boat in tow Friday afternoon and was on the road to the river. Adam took the time to explain some of the problems found and recommendations for the future. For that and things like staying an hour past closing to take my boat in was what I was extremely thankful for. Thanks Corona Marine! read more

I'd definitely be careful with this place they have a mechanic named Bobby bloodworth that works in the back that hacks everything, he does not know what he's doing and I'm sure all these bad reviews refer to him he scammed me and my wife and also steals parts from his own job to fix his own jet ski and boats also rents Jet skis out from his own job, this is the type of employees this place has and you can just tell by all reviews that this place would hire anyone that "says they have experience fixing boats and skis" this place and Bobby bloodworth is a joke they're scams! If you get an estimate from this business it means nothing. They do what they want, charge for work not done. Then hold your boat hostage forcing you to pay whatever amount they say to get your property back. Amount was well above estimate while they did not fix multiple items included in the estimate. As Joe stated to us " I can revise the estimate to whatever I want". Buyer Beware. Read the other reviews. I wish I had before coming to Corona Marine. read more

My 3.0L I/O stopped running and spark died. Before I took it in, I changed the coil and ignition module to no avail. Breck diagnosed the culprit, cam gear stripped out so then gave me 3 options. We recently had our entire interior redone including all new wood, upholstery, new stereo and they serviced our engine. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The entire bow needs to be redone, they only installed two of the four speakers we gave them and the stereo bracket came apart on our second day of boating on the Memorial Day Weekend. I would give it no stars if that were possible. We dropped our boat off 3 1/2 weeks ago with an appointment to have it repaired. We said we needed it back by Thursday June 13. We have an older boat so we knew it might take a bit to find parts. So we repeatedly called them to check on the status. We were informed the parts came in last Thursday. We stopped by on Monday to check on the status, supposedly the mechanic was gone and hadn't started it. We show up Tuesday and were informed that it would be finished Wednesday night or Thursday morning. We call Wednesday afternoon around 4 and were told it was never worked on because the parts just came in at 3pm today. Excuse me. Adam informed us yesterday that everything would be completed today and parts were already there. Adam was gone today so of course they couldn't help us but what would he have done anyway besides blow more smoke up our ass. So we picked our boat up with nothing done. Thanks for letting us park our boat at your crappy shop for 3 1/2 weeks for nothing. Horrible customer service. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Took my boat here in February to check my motor as it would not get past 2500 rpms. After 6 days I was told that the carburetors (3) needed to be rebuilt. I was told that the culprit was bad gas. I had told them that the problem had surfaced long ago when the gas was fresh and the problem had to be related to something else. They insisted that the carbs needing rebuilding and it would take about 3 weeks. Six weeks later after numerous trips into the shop and phone calls I was told that the boat was finally ready. I paid them $600, $500 for the rebuild and $100 to empty the tank of the old gas and dispose of it. I was advised at that time to buy only high quality gas from reputable service stations, not discount stations, and to add some sort of fuel stabilizer to the gas. I took the boat home and finished the repairs that I had to do to it which included but was not limited to removing the fuel tank and putting in a new sending unit as the old one had corroded. After completing all of my repairs, new wiring, winch rope, tires, light, fuse block etc, which took a couple of months I filled the tank with Chevron 91 octane fuel and added the recommended amount of Stabil fuel stabilizer. I started the boat in my driveway with the hose end clamp on device and everything seemed ok until the next day when I actually put it on the lake. The minute I put it in gear and tried to leave the marina it started bogging down, fuel was flooding the engine compartment and it would not get above 2500 rpms, AGAIN. I returned it the same day and was told that they would look at it. At this point there was still one week left on my 90 warranty. After six days I finally had to call them back to find out if they discovered the problem and guess what? Joe the owner tried to convince me that the issue was again...........that's right, bad gas. On the phone he told me that the gas they had pumped from my tank looked like chocolate milk which seemed pretty odd to me and that it was full of some sort of debris. I was out of town at the time and told him I would be by later in the week to look at the gas. I arrived 3 days later and asked to see the fuel. He showed me a mason jar with gas in it. It had some sort of dirt in the bottom and a bubble of what appeared to be water. It in no way looked anything like chocolate milk. I told him that there was no way that that had come from my tank. We then proceeded out to my boat, disconnected the fuel line and I filled another pint jar with gas which to Joe's dismay was clean as a whistle. I asked him if they were going to cover it under the warranty and he tried to tell me the warrant had expired and to get back into it would cost another couple of hundred dollars. NO WAY!! I said. The warranty was till good and I wasn't paying another dime at which point he shrugged his shoulders and said that that was all he could do. I told him I was taking the boat home. I found another repair shop in Orange County that discovered that the rebuild had been botched and that there was still all kinds of varnish, goo as they put it, and other debris left in the carbs. There were also 2 stuck jets, a missing gasket and a broken gasket. They also found a bolt missing from the linkage that connects the 3 carburetors. They found NO issue at all with the fuel. The only reason I am giving my review 2 stars is that after getting my boat fixed at the OC facility I returned back to Corona Marine and demanded that they cover the expense of re- rebuilding my carbs which they did to the tune of $300 of the $350 it cost me. read more

This was my first and will be my last experience with Corona Marine. The service is overpriced and very poor workmanship. The task was to install a swim step made for my make/year. Liars, Rip Off, Thieves We brought our Larson 228 LXI to have work done to it. One of the items was to rebuild the back hatch due to wood and upholstery needing to be replaced. Agreed to pay $850 for this. They did not do any of this, put in a couple screws that were too long that have popped through the fabric and I cut my leg on it. We were forced to pay $650 for a couple screws. We talked to the owner,Joe about this and he refused to listen and we were told that if we want our boat back we had to pay. We also had an annual done as we do every year. We were told that we need a complete lower end at a cost of over $13,000. We had just had most of the things they wanted to do a couple years ago in Lake Havasu. This lower end work we had done doesn't have many hours on it. Then we were told we need to pull the engine for $2,600 so they can see if our transom has wood rot. We explained our boat has VEC technology and has no wood in the hull. They argued that we were wrong and that it needs to be done and if it has rot our boat needs to be junked. We declined to have the lower end worked on and our engine pulled. We ended up paying $4470 to get our boat out of their garage which is well above the estimate we received. Joe explained that he revised the charges and that the estimate means nothing and he could do whatever he wanted to charge after the fact. We are now taking our boat back to the mechanic in Lake Havasu to go over the engine and lower end to see what they have done to it since they know our boat well. Joe the owner along with Adam the head mechanic have always gave nothing but great service to me. They have been right on time for all & any service I have had done with them. Never a day late. One time I had a rope caught in my prop. After I untangled it, I noticed when I put the boat in gear it would kick hard into gear which shouldn't do. Fearing the worst I stopped by Corona Marine to ask Joe & Adam about the issue. They took their time to explain the different possibilities and asked me to bring it in the very next day. But first they told me to take my prop off to check that it was not stripped. Which it was not. So I then took it in the filling morning and Adam right away got to checking out my boat. He had to place my outboard/prop into a big tub of water to get that same affect as if you would be in the water. BTW he told me that I can stay and watch him while he looks at it or go get a drink and come back. I decided to stay. Once the outboard/prop was in the tub of water he then fired it up. Put it in gear and was able to duplicate the problem I was having. He was able to determine that only the cable had to be adjusted. Thank God. It took close to an hour out of his day. When I asked him what was the charge he told me no charge at all. I was completely shocked and very happy at the same time. I was able to get back on the water the very next day. It actually seem to have ran a little better then before the rope have had got caught. I was very happy with Adams work. I have never had a problem with any of the team members at Corona Marine. I would highly recommend this shop to any & everyone. Thank you Joe & Adam!! read more
