Well, a little disappointing. The ambient is very nice. Music on point. Great place for date night. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside very nice. Drinks are very good and food was good, not great. A bit overpriced for what you get. Everything has some sort of spicy/chili seasoning. I'm talking from the beans and rice to the salad dressing. I can't believe they did not have any basic salad dressing. You need to be prepared for those folks who don't do spicy seasoned dishes. They tried to pass a house tartar sauce as ranch. REALLY It's still a must try, but if you don't do spicy be ready...enjoy read more

I been to Mariscos Choix in Downey 3 times, The 3rd time was Sunday it was remodeled nice and Beutiful place . My Family and I arrived around 6 pm Sunday May 3rd we were seated right away they had plenty of room and it was a nice and greeting environment. The food came out quick as well that always helps the review but the food has to deliver too . I gotta say the food did not disappoint, they start of with a house salsa and tostada with was medium spicy but really good , I got me a Tostada mixta / mix seafood tostada it's was a 10/10 I was in good heaven for a minute ! Mi kid theyre mother and my sister loved they're good also and that's hard to please em all .. Great place over all . It was a party of 8 so I wasn't surprised of the high bill that the cost of eating in LA but I feel it was worth it . Yes I will recommend if you love seafood . read more

Mariscos Choix - Drinks: Nemo & Mariposa - Seafood Near Me - Downey, California

Our first time at Mariscos Choix and was quite impressed! I am very picky with Mexican style seafood and was excited and glad to experience a delicious meal . However what left us in awe was the excellent service, definitely above par! Itzel was very kind and generous and always maintained a smile! Provided amazing recommendations and she didn't skip a beat! Ambiance was great and if you are one of us you know brunch mariachi is melody to our ears! Will definitely return! read more

First time here, great ambiance, food and drinks were good and our server Moises was amazing.

Just came back from Mariscos Choix and I had the worst treatment from the male server. He charge me $8.00 for a ginger ale and the funny thing that on the bill he applied it as a tonic water, after practically screaming at me for a mistake he made. I would not be coming back to this place because of the male server. I spoke to the manager on my way out and nothing was done. read more

She had such a glowing energy about her, her smile was beautiful!! I would definitely come back, and hopefully she can be our server again. Thank you!!! read more

Food at Mariscos Choix was great. This was our first time visiting the Downey location. Service provided by Rosalinda was great. Despite waiting for a table to accommodate our party of 5, once seated, Rosalinda promptly attended us. She was very patient with the children and willing to answer any questions. Great Service, food was delicious and our server Samantha did a great job hosting our party

It was my first time eating here and I had the absolute best time. The food, the service, the music, the seating: 10/10. The food was great but I think their appetizers and dessert really stands out! See pictures below. The service was absolutely wonderful. Laura H. was the one who attended us and she was lovely and made my first time here really enjoyable. The live music (which I believe starts after 6:00pm) was not only great but the volume of the music was perfect. Usually I find the music at marisco places to be a little overbearing (volume wise) but the band tonight was phenomenal and very professional. For all the reasons above I would highly recommend this place and will be coming again! read more

A wonderful and surprising roadside spot in Pico Rivera -- fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Plenty of patio seating, friendly and attentive service, and phenomenally good food. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny: the beautifully prepared servings are huge, and beach city diners will be accustomed to paying more for much less. The delicately fried fish chicharones are a great shared appetizer, or a full meal in themselves. In three visits, I've ordered several different shrimp dishes and sushi rolls, and every one has been a winner. Printed menu is mostly in Spanish -- but with lots of photos, on-line bilingual menu and the helpful staff, my English-speaking parties had no trouble getting all the delicious food we could eat. Mariscos Choix (pronounced "choice") is a hiddentreasure, and I'm eager to return. Highly recommended! read more

Where do I start... everything g here is top notch. The service, the ambiance and the star of the show.. the food. I had a fish fillet with "cucaracha" shrimp on top in a garlic sauce that I could have easily drank with a straw and a green salad. I'm on Keto and this was perfect. Also tried some of their super champachana coctel. Everything was delicious and was even given a coupon for a free agua chile to use on my next visit. Will definitely be back! read more

100% recommend this place. Waiting time was not bad (30min). Our table had a nice street view, comfortable seats, nice music playing. But let me tell you about the food!! My husband and I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo and they were delicious!! I asked for a natural lemonade, it was really good! My husband asked for a michelada and he enjoyed it! Our server Fabiola was the nicest, very polite, and was checking on us all the time! Had a nice time and enjoyed it a lot! Parking might be a struggle but there's a lot next to it where is permitted for mariscos Choix customers to park. read more
