He said he's been coming to this bakery for quite some time and his brother always buys a bunch of things when he visits. There was plenty of free parking on a Saturday night and the store itself was brightly lit. Very spacious inside and very clean. I was surprised at the variety and amount of items for sale! Everything was stocked pretty full, especially the cookies and individual pastries. I believe everything goes by weight when you're purchasing the cookies and pastries but if you have any questions, the staff were super sweet, patient and helpful! Hubby purchased an assortment of items like eclairs, cookies, rainbow cookies, cannolis and some sort of Napoleon looking pastry. Although some were a bit on the sweeter side (I have a sweet tooth too), everything was very delicious! I was very surprised that the butter cookies were really good because those are usually my least favorite anywhere I go. The rainbow cookies were also very good! There were no tables and chairs for customers so if you were planning on sitting down to enjoy something, sorry! I did see a small round table with two stools next to it but the table contained their cake binder so I'm assuming it's used for cake related orders.

Even the ice cream cakes, which is impressive! What I appreciate too is that a majority of baked good are single serving, perfect for a lil' afternoon treat. I've tried the caramel latte and vanilla latte, and both have been superb. I've also had the banana tart and jalapeno cornbread and both were equally good, but the crust was a bit too thick for my liking and the cornbread could've been a touch lighter. I maintain that Charlie's has the feel of a bakery in Manhattan, in terms of the cool decor inside and incredibly high quality baked goods. Without question, my favorite item on the menu now has to be their cinnamon roll. It's unlike any of the soggy imitations I'd ever had before and is now my gold standard for cinnamon rolls everywhere. The dough is golden and buttery with a slight crispy texture on the outside, but soft and chewy with lots of delectable cinnamon sugar layered in. The best part though is what seems to be a brown butter cream cheese frosting, drizzled on top. I can't stop myself from devouring the entire thing in one sitting!! They also have the most incredible bacon egg and cheese danish, made with a flaky croissant base that simultaneously shatters and melts in your mouth, and topped with velvety scrambled eggs, a slice of bacon, and melted cheese. Heat it up in the toaster oven for an outstanding way to level up the classic BEC. Also, Charlie's makes a fantastic cup of coffee, and they even have a variety of homemade flavored syrups to add to your latte. The baristas and employees are very sweet and can always give you recommendations. There's plenty of lovely seating inside to enjoy coffee and a pastry with a friend. Terry told me some people buy them and cut them in half and freeze them and take them out as they want them. Which I think is a great idea and is which what I did because I do not live nearby, but I would definitely drive to the end of the Earth for more. It's just one of those places. And I am not a big sweet person put the cake is just always soft and flavorful and delicious. And the filling is the right amount of the flavor and whipped cream and sugar. I think they have like 10 or so flavors available every day and they switch them around.
