This is some of the best pizza that I've had in a very long time! Plus the convenience of online ordering is superb! The food is delivered quick and it's always fresh! The delivery drivers are very nice, professional and courteous! Maybe one day I will go to Mario's and get the entire experience to include some Italian ice! Now, I love wings...I was kind of disappointed that I didn't order any last night. But the wings here are scrumptious! They are not small at all. The pizza is pretty good but delivery is terrible! It takes 90 minutes to get pizza or more and it's usually cold when you get it. The delivery drivers do not knock or ring bells. They call and if you miss the call they put your food on the ground. I prepaid and pre tipped so I couldn't even remove it. I will pick up from now on! read more

Mario's food is generally great. Pizza is awesome. The only thing is they don't season the fries at all. I've ordered the fried a couple times and always unseasoned. Also, the wings are delicious, but they don't have enough sauce. I like all my wings coated in sauce, not just a few. Maybe it's just me. All in all, Mario's is awesome. read more

Today marks the last time I'll order from this unprofessional place. The delivery driver came late and told me he wasn't feeling good that's why he's not getting out of the car to deliver my order. I called to report him so Ms. Mary the cashier answer the phone. She tells me that she told my daughter who called in to order that he doesn't get out because of his safety now if that's the case why deliver because I'm not that far away, I could've came and picked my food up. I don't believe for one second that his safety was in danger mind you it was between 6-7pm Sunday. If a place of business can take your money and don't deliver your food to your door, doesn't need to be delivering. I ask for the manager, Ms. Mary told me she would have him/her to calle back. I ask when will he be in, her response was"she doesn't know when he'll/ she'll be in. P.S. The food isn't that good. read more

I ordered a pizza waited 3 hours and it never actually came. They offered me to redo it the next day instead of giving me a refund, I said I was okay with that if they gave it to me within 2 hours, (I live 5 minutes away) they said no. Thankfully getting a refund through slice. I ordered a single pepperoni pizza it shouldn't have been that difficult. They took down the wrong address for our carry out. I missed their return call. And, they did remake the food. But, It still took another hour for them to figure out that the address was wrong. I called four times while waiting. And, I confirmed the address each time. The restaurant never called the driver. Over two hours later the food finally showed up. I asked about a credit and to speak to a manager. No for both! Since the manager was not there, I asked them to have the manager call me back. No call, so I called them. Imagine, if you will, four exhausted camp counselors, still hungry from an unsatisfying dining hall dinner. After a short period of deliberation, they resolve to order two large cheese pizzas from Mario's Original, the pizzeria nearest their dormitory. The pies are requested. The counselors are told they will arrive in forty-five minutes. Thirty-five sixty-second units later, they receive a sacred transmission: their pizzas have arrived. Euphoria washes over them; their anguish quickly transforms into ecstasy. The four of them rush down the steps to the lobby of their building, where awaiting them are what they assume to be two fresh pies, piping hot and made with love. After receiving the pizzas from the driver, they rush back to the air conditioned comfort of their room, prepared to sate their appetites with cheese, crust, and tomato. However, the items that rested within the corrugated vessels were not as they anticipated. They lift the top of the first box to find a pizza that's cheese had relocated. What lied within the box resembled a pyroclastic flow of parmesan; a mudslide of mozzarella. The cheese had settled into a swirl resemblant of that of a bowling ball: a red, yellow, and orange typhoon splayed across a white canvas. A large pool of greasy cheese had migrated off of the crust entirely, adhering itself to the cardboard sarcophagus. Dismayed, but not discouraged, the counselors opened the other box, hoping to find a gem of a pizza (or, at the very least, one that contained all of its original cheese). They became crestfallen as they found that not only had the mozzarella had done a similar tango across the starchy dance floor, but that the pizza had been haphazardly cut. The pie had been scored into approximately nine and a half incredibly large pieces, not the customary twelve. The counselors, as despondent as peckish, called Mario's to inform them of their situation. A man who introduced himself as Mario (who much to their dismay, sounded nothing like the star of the popular Nintendo series) heard their complaints, apologized for the inconvenience, and after a somewhat incoherent rambling about customers swindling him for free pizza, agreed to send two fresh pizzas to the counselors at no extra cost, so long as they exchanged the unsatisfactory pizzas. Anticipation mounted as they awaited their new pizzas. Although the estimated time of delivery was unspecified, their wait felt longer than they expected it to be. After a time, the phone rings: their replacement pizzas had arrived. They had been saved! They again rushed downstairs, ecstatic in their pursuit of the perfect pies. But, the familiar feeling of dread returned as they opened the boxes. The cheese had once again slid in its transport, forming a similar swirl pattern on the crust and a greasy swamp beyond it. Crushed, they opened the second box. Again, cheese similar to lava, and almost cut in an impossibly similar fashion as the sloppily cut pie they had received originally. They decided that a second call to the video game namesake was not worth it, and proceeded to consume the pizzas they had ordered. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the pizzas tasted as they looked. Overly salty, with no tomato flavor to speak of, the pies satisfied the counselors' stomachs, but not their tastebuds. We ordered food for pick up. When we arrived(a little too early) the order wasn't ready. The owner of the store was very nice and offered a slice on the house and a drink, while we waited for our order. The food was delicious and the slice was warm and delicious as well. This is a great neighborhood pizza place with good food and friendly employees. Skip the chains and go to the local joint. All their food is good but I'd definitely recommend the fried ravioli. Pickup orders are always fast. For delivery, they always say 45 min but are usually much faster. And it's right across the street from the Senator so it's a great option before or after a movie. read more

No wonder as the area does have (no offense if this applies to you, not that you'd admit it anyway) a lot of hipsters and they can be a little picky so I don't blame them for the indifference. Since moving close to the Belvedere Square area of north Baltimore, I've had the chance to try out a lot of places I wouldn't have otherwise gone to living in Mount Vernon. I've been pleasantly pleased with Mario's every time I've ordered from them. Although their extensive menu features pasta, salads, subs, etc., I've only had the pizza so far. I've always been a sucker for the massive 16" Sicilian cheese pizza with extra sauce. Certainly not the best pizza in the world, but darn good (especially considering what a great deal it is at under $15). I wouldn't drive across town for Mario's, but it's a solid choice if you're in their neck of the woods. read more

Despite the great reviews, I'd have to say I'm not a fan of their pizza. I ordered the godfather pizza. The onions were not caramelized. They were thrown on the pizza before it went in the oven along with the peppers. It would have been nice if they were at least sautéed. The cheese tasted low-quality. It didn't taste good the next day. Maybe I came on an off day, but I probably won't be back. read more
