The whole staff showed such compassion and empathy for our almost 16 year old Bichon, Molly, who we unfortunately had to put to sleep today. We were in constant communication the days prior to check up on how our girl was doing. They treated me, my wife, and our Molly phenomenally. Made an appointment and was told I needed to give a $50 deposit just to make the appointment, so I did. I get there and the waiting room is empty, though appreciated, it is never a good sign of a good vet. I filled out forms and waited a bit till a very nice vet tech came out to ask me what was the reason for my visit. I explained to her that my dog is blind and deaf and very frightened and that she has an ear infection. I was then informed (as opposed to being advised their policy when I was making the appt.) that no pet parent can come into the examining room and must wait out in the waiting room. I asked why, and I was told for safety reasons AKA, the Vet is afraid of germs. I preceded to ask if there can be an exception since my dog is blind and deaf and very frightened. The tech went back to ask the Vet/owner of the practice (Dr. Montella) if I could come in with my dog since she is scared because she is blind and deaf, and he still said NO. He then came out to explain that this was to protect his staff which was clearly BS since his staff was manning the front desk and talk to everyone who comes in. This was about Dr. Montella's own paranoia of germs. I would have been happy to wear a mask to sooth his phobia but that was not an option. So unless Dr. Montella and his staff live in a bubble where they never go food shopping or are never out and about in busy Brooklyn making contact with other people, I call this a control tactic of Dr. Montella for his own germaphobe condition. I understand he may be sickly but a veterinary practice has patients to see and if you can't run your practice competently it is time to close up shop or hire a vet who is not afraid of human contact. Either way, it was highly unprofessional of them to not let me know ahead of time that they had these ridiculous rules so that I did not have to take time off from work for my appointment and that my dog had to wait for this appointment when I could have went to a different VET. This was a great inconvenience and waste of time and time that my dog had to suffer but clearly Dr. Montella doesn't care about a dogs suffering and fears and disabilities as he is too focused on his own germaphobe paranoia. Clearly he is still practices for greed of money since he clearly no longer cares about the needs of his patients. The pet parent is the voice of their furchild and should always be allowed in the examining room with their furchild. the moment a Vet tells you that you can't go in it is then time to fine a new VET. Can you imaging a pediatrician not letting mothers go in with there child. Would never happen. No wonder his waiting room was empty. read more

I have never been to this clinic, but when I heard that Dr. Zaccheo had joined the staff, I just had to leave a review. I want to let everyone reading this know that Dr. Zaccheo is one of the best vets that I ever had the pleasure to know and take care of my pets. He is wonderful! After Dr. Robinson passed away, I couldn't find another vet that I trusted to take care of my kitties. But when I found Dr. Zaccheo, who brought my cat, Loki back to life, I knew I had found a gem. The techs are wonderful and Dr. Amy is just awesome! They're extremely helpful and friendly at Marine Park Vet Group (they even send out reminder postcards for shots and check-ups) and I always feel like they take me seriously. I've been taking my brother (my dog Chris lol) to Marine Park Vet since my family and I adopted him 10 years ago. The vet's are really friendly and the employees are nice. Their patient rooms also have themes so they are not boring white walls. They have a cat room (pics of cats on the walls) a dog room and a reptile room which is green and has a jungle theme. The only negative about the vet is the area. It's always hard to park around the vet. But other than that the service is good. The vet also has animals which are up for adoption in case you or someone you know wants to add a 4 legged friend to your family :-) They also have 2 office dogs behind the counter. Daisy is a bulldog and I don't know the name of the other dog but they are both friendly. read more

STAY AWAY! I took my 3 month old puppy to get his mandatory shots done and check on his skin ( he was itching and loosing his hair a lot). Doctor Marcello checked him , told us that pup has mites and he will give us pills to cure that. Also , as doctor said we couldn't get any shots done because of the skin problems . A week later , ( poor puppy was taking antibiotics for a week for no reason!!!!!!) I went back cause nothing has changed and pup was feeling worst and worst . Obviously, pils did not help. Doctor Marcello told me that he can't help me anymore and gave me the phone number of vet dermatologist that has a month wait for the appointment! He also tried to make us buying more antibiotics just to make some money off the second visit! They got so mad when I said that I obviously do not need pills that DO NOT HELP. Ridiculous. Never again . I also checked with another vet and found out that this skin problem is not supposed to be cured with antibiotics. read more

Long story short, my vet's office was destroyed in Superstorm Sandy. She still does housecalls and come to see my cat, Bo. His tooth was loose and yellow and his gum was red. She knew he would need surgery, so she recommended MPVG. I must say that the staff and technicians were friendly and courteous. The office and the phones were busy, but that's a good thing. Dr. Amy did the surgery and Bo came through with flying colors. I spoke to Dr. Montello about his after care and he was caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. The prices were reasonable and the office was immaculate. I have 3 other cats and a senior dog and will be using MPVG in the future if need be. I enjoyed my experience there and would highly recommend them. read more

Ive been coming to this place for years now. It was good when I first started coming here. It has drastically went down hill. It is now very over priced and the staff is very rude. The staff acts like we are doing them a favor by being there. I took my dog in for a check to see if they can perform a surgery on her. They charged me $52 just for weighing her and taking her temp. Overpriced and rude . Got a blood test and regular check up the total was $282. I went to another vet just a few days later , got the same services - a check up and the same blood test done (also got some heart worm meds ) the total was $97 for all of it . When I called and questioned the pricing here (thinking maybe there was a mistake) I was told " that's just how it is , if you don't like it you can go to another vet". I would have to give this vet Dr. a 1/5 if I can provide a 0/5 I would. We brought our female mini Dachshund here to get spayed, we picked her up, and he didn't give any pain medicine as he said it makes them tired, well, either way, their not themselves and rather sleep then be in pain, so that's number one, the second huge problem is that he doesn't know how to stitch a dogs stomach, my dogs stomach looks horrible and is still bleeding 4 days later. Instead of pulling the skin together and making a clean stitch with many of them, he pulled the skin over each other overlapping it and put four stitches in. Horrible isn't even the word to use. I call to get my dog in today to see why shes still bleeding and get told the doctors on his brake and have to call back; this is an emergency especially that you are the one that caused it. I would not recommend this vet to any animal out there. read more

I was referred to this place by another groomer. My cat was suffering from very bad hair mats. My cat is very fresh so I wasn't sure what to expect. So during the exam the veterinary physician said she needed to be sedated in order for them to remove the hair mats, which was no surprise to me. During the whole exam and even before I got there the front desk administrator was very pleasant and nice. As well as, the veterinary's assistant was amazing and knew how to handle my crazy cat. The Vet Amy was very welcoming and a pleasure to be around. Before doing everything they also gave me an estimate of how much everything was going to cost before doing the actual exam on my cat. I was able to leave my cat there and go home. They told me a time that I should call to see how my cat was doing and an estimate of when they would be finish. The whole visit was AMAZING! It was a bit of a distance for me to travel but was worth every moment. And will do it again. Great care of my Canary Diamond (cat). Prices wss okay..
