As a small business owner that specializes in quality renovations and/or new construction of mid to high end Residential housing, this has been my "go to place" ever since I discovered it back around 2005. It's a real lumber yard - meaning you can get all of the stuff your really need for the job, not just "the most common stuff" that the big box stores only sell. They sell to business' and retail, unlike some lumber yards that only sell to other business'.
The location is convenient, but kind of hidden in plain sight. It's located on the southern most part of Renton just north of IKEA right next to 167. The sales building is quite small with a larger warehouse behind it. Don't let the lack of physical size fool you, they can get most anything. No brightly lit orange emblem, no massive showroom of flooring, no kitchen appliances, no light fixtures display, etc. Yes, if you need a light fixture, a sewer pipe fitting, a washer machine, a lawn mower, five 2x4's & a house plant; and want to do it at one location, then yes go to a big box store (I often do). But, if you want a semi-truck full of lumber or just a few pieces of top quality specialty lumber like some clear Douglas-fir 1x (in stock) or some 10" real ceder beveled siding in any length you want, all to match your existing craftsmen or vintage home. Your not going to find it anywhere else and it's what attracted me to here to begin with. Their prices are equal or less than the box stores across the board, as well.
Because it's not a big box. It's best to call and specifically order the stuff you want and they will get it for you pretty quick. The sales staff are always top notch throughout the whole process and they know what they are talking about. Unlike the ever changing sales people at most box stores.
