We have spent close to $10,000 at Issaquah Cedar and Lumber this past year and half on a new constriction project. Cedar siding, window trim, fencing etc. Things have been going downhill at Issaquah Lumber - The last load that we picked up was missing 15% of our order. We had to drive back to get the rest of the load. When loading your order they do not let you inspect each board - it is brought out in batches. We were given multiple moldy boards and boards that had mill saw cuts through the center of the boards? When we tried to exchange the boards we were told, "once it leaves the yard, it is yours." Seriously? Mill cuts are acceptable? We recommend that Issaquah Lumber works on their customer service and quality control.

I had dug-out and gravel backfilled an area for a 12ft x 12ft pad to be poured in my yard but I had not built the form before the delivery was made. I am a new DIYer so this job was certainly a growing pains type of experience for me however the difficultly in getting the task done was greatly lessened by Randy from Burien Sand & Gravel. He showed up on-time, was COVID-19 prepared and above-all he was kind enough to not only build the form for the job but also taught me how to do it as he worked. This was COMPLETELY unnecessary for Randy to do but he made me feel ok with the fact I was not quite prepared for the delivery. He was MacGyver on the spot using spare materials from around my yard to facilitate the construction of the form. Never once did I feel like he was inconvenienced by my lack preparedness. This is what great customer service is supposed to feel like and me running to my computer to let the rest of the world know how awesome Randy and Burien Sand & Gravel is just a small token of my appreciation for a job well done. 100% getting my business in the future - Thank you so much!

Usually, we order inside and then drive to the designated stop sign, at which point a young man runs up, checked the receipt and pulls the lumber. But on our visit early in April, a man (named Mark, I think) approached us in the store and asked what we needed. When I told him we needed a 10×2, he asked us to follow him outside. He questioned me about what we were going to use it for (floating shelves) and how we would finish it (stain polyurethane). I told him that I liked seeing the grain. So, he showed us the pile. He got any idea of what we like, then told us to go get our vehicle. When we got back to the pile, he showed us a beautiful board he found. We agreed it looked nice, and then he offered to cut it for us. After making the cuts, he stacked them together and double checked they we all the same length. We spent less that $20 for quality wood that he selected and custom cut. Thanks TRM!
