Southwest Chicken Salad and sweet potato fries
Darling D.

Love the southwest chicken salad here. I also enjoy their green chile stew, green chile Philly sandwich, and sweet potato fries. So far everything has been great! Love how they write my name so beautifully on the bag, whoever does it is very talented. Once they even drew flowers and grass around my name and I saved it.

Stopped in for lunch, a little on the late side. Nice looking building and we opted for patio dining as it was fairly cold inside on this milder day near end of August. You order at the counter. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and a breakfast burrito. My husband, didn't like the burrito as much as some others he tried in this area. My chicken Tikka masala was very good. The naan that comes with it was a bit crispy, I like mine a bit softer. The service coming in was a bit lacking and the time from food order to delivery was slow. All in all it was good, and I may come back a little earlier. Looks like they have some tasty pastries!

Wow this surprised me. Delicious, creative, clean and fantastic customer service. I am traveling through but I hope to be back someday!

Are we embarrassed? The Marigold Cafe has been open for more than a few years, and we did not know it. How could that be? Well, we rectified that oversight and went there for a most delightful experience in food that is guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning palates. Located near Cabela's in Albuquerque's Northwest quadrant, you will not regret joining them for breakfast or lunch. Excellent service, exciting atmosphere, and fresh ingredients make this one of our latest favorite places to eat. 3 Stars = OK Everything was good. Not a bad experience. Nothing was memorable or crave worthy. I do recommend their Mango Lassi. Solid place for a quick stop with some small bites. As another reviewer described accurately, "Walk in. Order. Sit. Wait a bit. Eat. Leave." It's straight forward. Enjoy!

Down a street I had never driven down until yesterday, I found this hidden gem by searching Yelp for vegetarian cuisine. Marigold opened in 2019 and survived its closure. They provide a clean atmosphere along with outdoor tables on a well-covered patio. They are open until 2pm so as I arrived at 1:30pm, I knew that I could have to leave soon. The size of this salad was more than I could eat so I took the remainder home. Tomato Bisque is served around town and this soup was just as tasty. The staff was friendly even as they were preparing to close. I did not feel that they were rushing me out the door. I'm making this one of my go-to joints.

Tried this cafe today 6-22-24, absolutely delicious and fabulous. My daughter had the breakfast Indian taco w/carne adovada. I had chicken pesto panini with a salad and Xmas chile fries for an appetizer. All so tasty, fast and friendly service. Very clean. I asked how long they have been in business, they said since November of 2019, I am soooo glad they survived the pandemic!!!!!

California gal heading to Texas and stumbled upon here to eat Food: The Marigold Salad was exactly what I needed during a road trip seeking a healthy option with many veggies. Perfect presentation and combo of flavors - crunchy romaine lettuce topped with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, chopped red onion, chickpeas, avocado cubes and feta cheese tossed in cilantro pesto. They gave an ample portion of salad and cilantro pesto on the side Monte Cristo was a delicious favorite too. The nicely sliced grilled ham, cheese and raspberry jam on a fluffy flakey croissant were very complimentary in taste. It came with a side of fresh fruit to clean the palate They had a baked goods selection in their pastry case which are from a local bakery Le Chantilly and are delivered on a daily. Drinks: Hot almond milk latte with cinnamon and cardamom was great. It reminded me of a cafe de olla with real canela / spices plus the creamy milk. Their choice of espresso beans were smooth pulling thru the drink and not acidic on the tummy Iced almond milk vanilla latte was good just a bit too sweet maybe half sweetener. The sugar disguised the espresso more, but based on the hot latte I knew their espresso was substantial. I asked for light ice and they still filled the cup to brim level with milk (California will charge or not fill the cup when customers ask for light ice) Environment: clean and spacious with indoor & outdoor patio seating. The inside had AC and different arrangements of seating. You order at the counter and find your own seating Service: The server/barista was helpful and graciously answered our questions. Our order came out ASAP Overall: A well pleased Californian on her way to Texas and will stop by if ever again in Albuquerque :)

Iced caramel latte

Very interesting fusion concept. The caramel latte was nice and strong. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. The curry itself was pretty good. I don't think it would beat a full blown Indian restaurant but good nonetheless. The naan smelled like Tabasco, which was different kind of chili than I was hoping for. I thought it was chile. The rice wasn't very flavorful either. But this entree was $13. I'm happy for what I got for the price I paid. I'd come back again and try another thing on the menu! The service was nice as well.

First on service - I ordered carry out, and the woman who took my order over the phone was extremely kind. She also was the one who helped me once I arrived to pick up my food, and she was just as kind in person. It truly seemed like the entire staff was very customer centric. Food - holy cow it was great! I had the sixty six burger with the hatch chilis, and it was a phenomenal burger. Highly recommend upgrading to the truffle fries, worth the extra two bucks!! If I lived here I know I would be a regular and ensure I tried out the entire menu!

We went with the Korean Chicken bites, the Margarita Flatbread, & the green chilli cheeseburger. The Chicken bites were terrible. Taste wasn't great at all, they were very very fried, but not in a good way. I love some good crunchy fried chicken but these just were not it! The flavor, the texture, none of it was right. The Margarita Flatbread was med. Taste was pretty good, but it was soggy and didn't hold up well at all. That said it was the best of the 3 things we did get. Unfortunately, that's not saying much..... The burger was okay also. Not bad by any means, but nothing special at all either....considering there's a burger place next door I thought the burger would be able to compete with the neighbor, but trust me if you want a burger, go next door! They don't put sauce on it at all, no nothing. Just straight up patty, cheese and bun. Only my 6 year old cousin eats like that.....I did add some mayo and ketchup, which helped, but still not a great burger.... The bun didn't add much for us either, even though it was baked in house with green chilli....A simple brioche would be better imo... The fries with the burger were actually the best single item of the experience. Their fries are really good! So good that I was going to eat every single one of them but instead my waiter just came and took my plate before I had finished the last 10 or so. No are you finished yet, or anything, just grabbed it, turned and left. I was so shocked I didn't even have time to say I'm not done with that. He left the crummy chicken bites we weren't eating though..... LOL Seriously don't touch my plate unless it's empty, or you ask first! Since it was a small amount I let it slide and didn't reduce his tip because the rest of the service was actually pretty good overall..... I definitely 100% will not be back here though, there's much better food in the area.

From the moment we walked in, the staff were welcoming and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Our server checked in regularly, kept the coffee full, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and genuinely hospitable. The food absolutely held its own. The biscuits and gravy were outstanding--fluffy, homemade biscuits smothered in a rich, savory gravy that tasted like it had been simmering all morning. We also ordered the pork cutlets, which were beautifully prepared: tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. Paired with the café's warm, pleasant ambiance, it made for a meal that felt both hearty and comforting. The only reason for 4 stars is there wasn't a changing table in either restroom, so we had to go out to the car to change the baby, which wasn't very convenient.

I had a hash skillet with sausage and my daughter had the crab cake Benedict. The food was ok. The poached egg was over cooked and not runny. My skillet was fine but it was not hot. I could even touch the skillet. Our food was not hot. You can see the cheese melted then hardened from sitting. In addition the food was dry. My skillet came with an English muffin with no butter or jelly. I had to ask and they gave me 2 packets of strawberry jelly. I was disappointed they didn't offer or give me any choice. The service was just ok. They were quick to take our order and bring the food but didn't offer to refill our drinks or even water. It cost too much for what you get, mediocre food & service.

What a fun new place! (New for me!)…read more The burrito was a whopper, and the tacos we got were filling as well. Loved the brownie dessert and the mango guava agua Fresca too! All in all, great meal and a great price. Two drinks, two dinners and a dessert for $48 before top.

Sadly, we found kind of a mixed bag. First, the standout items. The margaritas were fantastic; some of the best we've had in the USA and extremely generous. The pinto bean sides were some of the best we've had since returning to the States in 2013. Perhaps not quite as great as those of the shuttered El Cotorro but still stellar. Next, the tacos. We tried only two of the several tacos on offer - The El Pastor and the Pescado. Both were served in what was called "corn tortillas" but these differed from virtually any corn tortillas we've ever had in Mexico or elsewhere. They were at least twice as thick as your typical corn tortilla found in just about all Mexican taco places in Mexico and elsewhere. The consistency and taste were quite different from your normal corn tortilla also. In fact, they really didn't seem to have much taste at all, of corn or anything else. Now to the fillings. At the aforementioned El Cotorro, the meat for the Al Pastor tacos was cooked on a vertical rotating spit which was the only way we ever saw it cooked in Mexico. The meat La Reforma used in their al pastor tacos was more chunky and way drier than any we ever had in Mexico or at El Cotorro. It didn't taste similar to any al pastor tacos were ever had in Mexico. It also kind of seemed like it wasn't cooked recently whereas in Mexico you can watch the cook with a large knife carve off the meat from the vertical spit right in front of you. Usually the time between the carving and it sitting in front of you is under 10 seconds. The fish taco at La Reforma was disappointing. The fish resembled a fish stick but one without much flavor. We wouldn't order it again. We gave the mini-churros a try for dessert. Because they were so small, they were way crispier than your typical regular-sized churro. We might return but we'd skip the al pastor and the fish tacos and try some of the other tacos. But we strongly suggest that they dump their current "corn tortillas" because they're not that good. Way too thick and virtually tasteless. Lo siento. Kudos for the margaritas and the beans. The rest of what we tried didn't live up to the recent glowing review in the ABQ Journal.

Service was great (it was so busy we had to sit at the bar since we were in a little bit of a hurry).
