They had advertised that pianist Stephen Mars's would be playing that night, so I checked out his music on line and got so excited to see him and hear some of his CD of Beatles music that I went with my girlfriend that night to see him. But I misunderstood the hours he was playing from 2-6 and believed he was playing from 6-9. So when we arrived there we were very disappointed to hear he was finished playing. So after we spoke to him for a little while explaining our disappointment, he went back up on stage and played some Beatles music for us and the other patrons despite his shift having ended. There was a pretty decent crowd and everyone loved it. Stephen is really a wonderful musician and truly an interesting and terrific guy! So I would highly recommend the music in The Backroom Live at the Fish House, particularly when Stephen Marks is performing there. Thanks Harry K.

The first bar we tried didn't work out (long story) and my husband mentioned having seen an interesting bar next to Pisco y Nazca where we had been a few times. So off we went. It was around 9:00 pm, and there was only like one other couple there. My understanding is it's more of a club vibe later so that's prob why. It is all outdoors with a bar across the back. It looked nice and was decorated for Christmas. We chose to stand at the bar instead of sitting at a table which seemed to have service. We ended up ordering a cocktail each (amaretto sour and mojito). There weren't any prices on the menu (except for the specialty cocktails which they were out of). Our total for the two drinks came to $42! So I paused and asked if the tip had already been added, and the bartender sort of mumbled something about "no", so I asked if the drinks were actually $20 each. (I mean, we're in Kendall, not South Beach!) So then he showed me the receipt that showed the drinks were $16.50 each and an auto grat of 20%+ had already been added. I did not add an additional tip on top of that. But the experience was in line with some of what I read here (afterwards) of them being a little scammy financially. I'd give it 1 star but the drinks were fine and I could see the vibe being fun once more people showed up.

The facility provides you with the location, the DJ and the drinks. The customer brings the food and decorations. The kids had a lot of fun as they got to hang out, talk, dance. Be sure to bring older people to help supervise as kids can get out of hand. Definitely a place for kids to have fun in a safe environment. The kids get dropped off and once in the bldg. they are not allowed to step out of the bldg.. therefore, a parent should be stationed by the front door as kids would want to test their boundaries.

The reason why my friend's troupe got to perform there was because the troupe included children, which the theater supports. They also teach classes such as dance, theater, and voice. They also have a summer camp program. I would really recommend trying out their programs if you have children or just love performing arts.

That is a homerun for me!!! The counselors are high school kids but seem to be so serious about the craft. They are all respectful, very curteous and helpful!
