On the outside it's a little unassuming even though the plaza itself is nice, but the decor inside was elegant. Our server was really friendly. Unfortunately, she di forget to bring into our appetizer. But we even forgot until after we were eating dinner so we didn't say anything (and it turns out it wasn't on the check either). We went at around 8:30 pm on a Friday night and there were only a few other tables, it they're open until 3am so we assume it is more of a late night spot. We both thought the food was incredible though. I had salmon (which was cooked to perfection) and cilantro rice. I ordered vegetables (zucchini, tomatoes, and broccolini) which were also surprisingly tasty. My husband had the mofongo. It was just different from the typical Puerto Rican mofongo in that didn't come with sauce other than some garlic sauce, but the taste was still great. He also liked the chicken that came with it. We will def be returning here in the future!

The place was pretty empty on a Thursday afternoon like 2pm. I ordered the chicken lomo and lentil soup and wow. The waiter was also really welcoming. Inside the ambiance was nice, I am sure it would be a lively dinner spot too. The menu has a variety of Latin choices and it was hard for me to decide. I'll be back! I knocked off one star because for it not being so busy the service was a tad slow but his attitude was so great and I wasn't in a rush I didn't mind too much.

Our fried calamari tossed in a sweet Thai chili sauce was cooked perfectly with the right amount of flavoring. They also had a nice selection of craft draft beer & Surfside cans. Often bars only have the surfsides mixed with tea, but my girlfriend only drinks the lemonade ones, so she was a happy camper here! Staff was knowledgeable and welcoming, as were the patrons we shared the bar with.

There was also a very loud, disruptive large party nearby who were screaming and using inappropriate language, and it didn't seem that anyone addressed it. We understand it was a Panthers game night, so we didn't expect complete quiet, but the level of disrespectful behavior made it hard to enjoy our evening. The food also wasn't what it used to be. We ordered the hogfish, but it didn't look, flake, or taste like hogfish at all -- it seemed more like swai. The margarita was another disappointment, tasting mostly like mix with barely any alcohol. Overall, it was a letdown compared to previous visits. Update: I read the owner's response, and it honestly reflects exactly why my experience was so disappointing. Instead of taking feedback seriously, the reply came across as dismissive and out of touch with what was happening in his own restaurant. If the owner "was there most of the evening," as he claims, that makes it even more concerning that he didn't notice the large party that everyone else around us found disruptive. A manager or owner should be checking on tables, paying attention to the environment, and stepping in when guests are uncomfortable -- not insisting nothing happened simply because he didn't see it. It's also disappointing that the response focused more on contradicting my experience than on improving service. A simple acknowledgment and a genuine desire to do better would have gone a long way. This kind of attitude explains exactly why the service and quality have declined over time.

The day before, my husband was at the bar when another customer was being extremely rude and disrespectful to the bartender. Since the manager James did not step in to handle the situation, my husband felt compelled to intervene and escort the individual out to protect the staff. When we returned on March 9, instead of addressing the situation professionally or showing any appreciation, the manager pulled my husband aside and spoke to him in a very disrespectful and confrontational manner. The interaction escalated to the point where we were asked to leave the restaurant entirely. We were shocked by how poorly the situation was handled. A manager should demonstrate professionalism, respect, and the ability to manage difficult situations none of which were shown here. As loyal customers who live just minutes away, this experience was incredibly disappointing. Due to this incident, we will no longer be returning or supporting this establishment.

There is a female waitress that takes care of the section towards the left when you come in. Unfortunately she's there most of the time. Not only is she rude and ignores our group every time we go for happy hour. If you want to refill, good luck. We ordered a drink in 20 minutes later we still didn't have it. To top it off, you will ask for something and she will give you a bad attitude. The last time we went, I said would be our last. I wanted to pay for my specific items and asked to split up the tab in our small group. Of course she never does it because it seems like some sort of scam she's running. She will add extra things on your bill and it's not the first time she's done this. There were a lot of charges that did not belong to us. She didn't seem helpful at all so I went to speak to the manager. I showed the manager the charges that pertained to my husband and I. He handled the issue or so I thought. When we left, she went to the table and talked to trash about my husband and I to all of our friends. She then proceeded to charge them for what she said were "our" charges when we had already paid a $200 bill. She was charging things that were never brought to the table. The fact that she went to trash talk about us after we left to our table of friends is extremely unprofessional, and in my humble opinion, she should be FIRED. For this reason alone, we will never be eating at this establishment as long as she is working here. It's awful enough that we had to always endure bad service from her. She seems more interested in flirting with the males at tables than actually providing any type of service. Then to make matters worse, she got double paid because not all they did we pay our $200 bill, but she came to trash talk to our table to extort more money out of our friends. We felt terrible because our friends felt forced to pay the money. NEVER in my life have I had such a terrible terrible service!! What kind of waitress argues with her customers, puts extra things on the bill, and then bad mouths a customer to their friends to extort more money?

The ambiance of the place is elegant yet relaxing, and it feels very welcoming. Our waiter, Mr. Carlos, and his assistant, Juju, were both very kind and friendly. We were seated in a very cozy corner, and our culinary experience began with the wine menu, dinner specials menu, and main menu being presented to us. There was a very extensive food selection, from appetizers and salads to main courses and dessert options. We took our time making the right selections for our appetizer, salad, and main course. The service was fast but never rushed between courses. We had the perfect amount of time to enjoy all of their delicacies. After enjoying this wonderful dining experience, we had the honor of meeting the owner, who introduced herself to us and wanted to know if everything had met our expectations. Her name is Marbella. What a joyful person she is. We told her that everything, including the service, had been excellent and that we definitely planned to visit again. We spoke for a while and learned that the chef, Mr. Gustavo, was also the owner and Marbella's husband. Several of their employees are family members, something I have always enjoyed about family restaurants. It makes you feel right at home. The whole experience was delightful, and we highly recommend it for romantic dinners or family gatherings. It's an amazing place to enjoy Italian food, steaks, lamb, and many other delicacies. I give it five stars. Thank you for making our first visit a wonderful one. Roberto Almeyda
