Well I was hopeful that this place would have improved with time but I'm sorry to say that the only thing that has changed is a lady on stilts entertains the guests. The service is still at a snail's pace taking nearly 25 minutes for our food to arrive. The food certainly is presented well and served hot, but has a bland taste. I had the grilled chicken with an update of onion rings. Rings we're your basic batter with not much taste. Other guests in our party had the fish and chips as well as the coconut shrimp. Both said those meals had a good flavor. The fish and chips had the best portion to value. My visit was pretty good, but at these prices I wanted to like it more. I stopped in because I saw a sign for a Tuesday special: chicken tenders for two bucks apiece. I figured that could be a nifty appetizer for what I really wanted, which was some seafood pasta. So I got two tenders and their shrimp linguine. I didn't really like the tenders. The chicken meat wasn't very tasty. The shrimp linguine was pretty good though. Good-sized portion, and it included a hunk of garlic bread. The shrimpies still had their tails, so I had to come up with a strategy that involved holding shrimps by the tail with my left hand and spinning little linguine bites onto my fork with my right. Worked out just fine. Nicely cooked shrimp, and the mild, white wine pasta sauce tasted yummy. The service by Monroe was great; he was really fast and friendly. The decor was fine, but not very impressive or unique. It didn't feel like a twenty-dollar-entree place. (In fairness, a lot of the entrees were less than twenty dollars.) There are so many places in the Mall of America to get food that I think Margaritaville needs to do more to distinguish itself. read more

We had just an ok meal here. Wish the mall had some better restaurants as we've struck out each time. Our server was very busy but she did a great job. I remember that there were no clean cups so everyone was served paper cups with straws which was fine. I also thought it was weird that we had a reservation but were seated on the "patio" so we couldn't enjoy the view of the inside part of the restaurant. Instead we people watched the whole time. Let's see... a theme restaurant at the Mall of America. Not exactly a formula for success, especially for one who's as scintillating tastes as mine, right? Well, there's a reason why I visit places. We'd just come off a long day of insurer visits, and I was hoping to get my food and drink on. The walk over from the Embassy Suites was accompanied by a fairly heavy sheen of rain, and I was kaput by the time I wandered the ginormous building's caverns. Eventually I wound up here - I was greeted, how should I put it? Adequately. The local Landshark Lager that seemed enticing on the menu was in fact unavailable - always a minus. I wound up having the Jimmy's Jammin' Jambalaya, to which one Facebook friend said "That looks rather bland". I wouldn't go as far as saying it was bland, necessarily, but neither was it particularly memorable. There were a pair of what seemed to be already loaded bobby soxers who made things interesting, and my server was decent enough... certainly I'd describe the place as decent enough to eat at without it being a destination. read more

For about 10 minutes it seemed. There was 2 of us, she asked for our drinks order but i told her we were ready to order. I told her my order and she proceeds to walk away, i said wait, theres someone else at the table that would like to eat. She took the orders , brought our drinks, which she messed up, one diet and one mr pibb and eventually brouggt our food which seemed to take 20 min if not longer. We had 1 burger and coconut shrimp! The whole meal took close to 1 hour and 20 min. Food was good, service could improve but I would try it again and hope it was an off night. Wow what a horrible experience. We called over a week in advance to schedule a cocktail social in their tiki event area, they kept saying that the GM would call us back to schedule it. The room online says it seated 85 total people and we were only requesting 40-45. I had to eventually go in to speak to the GM to get it planned after 6 attempts at getting ahold of her! She said because it was a social event and we were only doing drinks and some apps that we were limited to only 2.5 hours. I told her the event would be staggered in people arriving and we'd probably be standing mostly. We arrive and we cannot be seated until 15 people show up. The servers then tell us to stay seated because of how they were placing orders. One guest waited 28 minutes on a beer! Me and 2 of the guests went to the bar and got excellent service even though it was packed. As for the drinks, big glasses and 80% ice, total ripoff. As for food we had guests who got food poisoning from chicken quesadillas. Chicken sushi is not on the menu last time I checked. All in all we will never be returning and jimmy buffet is probably rolling in his grave at the sight of this establishment. read more

I was very excited to see this Margaritaville location in the Mall of America! The outside looked fun and appealing as well, we walked up to the hostess and right there were specials listed as well as events going on for the day there ($5 Margaritas today and a Margarita toast at 5pm) We were prompted with a health questionnaire and our temperature was taken as a COVID-19 precaution, then sanitized our hands and we got to be seated at a clean table spaced from others. I ordered the Fish Tacos that comes with Rice & Beans. My husbands pick was the Chicken Fajitas with a Caesar Salad added on, as well as the Shrimp Scewers. We both also ordered the 2 Margaritas they had on special. Drinks arrive first, and they were ok, nothing extra spectacular about the taste however and we were left wondering if we got such little of the actual drink because it was on a special? We have been to other locations before and had at least a decent size glass to have a real drink in. My husband drank his so fast he ended up ordering a beer that is photographed with my meal photo. The meals came out and the portions were good food wise. My husband seemed to enjoy his meal, he said the fajitas were good but nothing significantly special. My fish tacos looked delicious, however when I bit into them I was a little let down. I got my tacos with grilled fish and the fish not only completely lacked flavor but was on the dry side as well. I felt like the dish relied on the mango salsa for its flavor, which wasn't worth making myself keep eating it. My plate accidentally came out with fries with my tacos instead of the rice and beans, I didn't quite mind, but it did happen. Our server came out after a few minutes and did apologize for that and gave me a bowl of black beans and rice that had actual flavor. Altogether our experience was so-so tonight, it wasn't terrible but nothing significantly drawing us back to this location ever. At least their sanitation protocols were up to par. read more

I don't know if it was the bright colors with this crappy daylight savings and weather that made it feel so cheery, but both myself and my friend liked it. The menu has plenty to choose from, the prices are a little high but we expected that. Usually the mall of America restaurants run a little more expensive than outside concepts. We both had a hard time choosing as everything sounded fantastic. We ordered the southwest egg rolls as a starter and they did not disappoint. We both loved them but they do have a little kick to them so be warned. The ranch they are served with is awesome! They are pretty big as well. For main course I ordered the taco salad and she ordered the club sandwich. When they came out we were surprised at the portions. While other restaurants have been scaling back on portion sizes these guys have kept them big. Her little girl got the chicken strips and they were hand battered...surprised us! Usually they are the over processed strips. My taco salad was fantastic..I couldn't finish it so I took it home. I would totally get it again. Friends club sandwich was GIGANTIC! They had a monitor playing in the dining area that showed some of the entrees and it showed the sandwich. We figured the pictures always look bigger and better than what you actually get, but it was accurate...and huge. We both had plenty to take home for another meal. We've dined here twice now. We live in Illinois and I would say once a year or so, we make the road trip up to the Twin Cities area and stop in MOA. They start putting down the plates - and it's all of our meals. No pretzel. So we had to ask our server what happened to our pretzel -- we get a "uhhhh.... let me go check". Start eating .... wait some more, and he finally returns with our pretzel. Apologizes that it was his error, and says it's on him. The food was just okay. Me, my daughter and her friend all ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. They were dry ... almost like they were sitting under the heat lamps too long. I mean, the cheese on it wasn't even moist & melty anymore -- it was just dried and stuck to the chicken. Incredibly disappointing. The teenage boys didn't complain about their burger and crab cake sandwich - but they were starving and probably would have eaten anything that was placed in front of them. My husband had the Cuban and it was just okay. Then we waited for our check. Overall - the entire visit left me so unimpressed and put-off that I don't think we'll ever step foot in here again. The prices are high - but it's also in Mall of America - and that might be okay ** IF THE FOOD & SERVICE WAS GOOD ** .... and it's just NOT. So -- TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Honestly. Our meal was around $70 which was well worth it. We had spinach parmesan appetizer, which was mediocre. I selected the chicken caesar salad. Large portion! Fresh roman lettuce, great season chicken breast. The caesar dressing had slight tang to it, very refreshing. The spouse went with the catch of the day, grilled. Served on a bed of rice. Rice had just a hint of lemon taste. Fish was perfectly cook and moist. Served with steamed veggies. The of course we selected a few speciality drinks. I selected the blackberry moonshine margarita and must say it was so smooth and full of sweet flavor that it would be very easy to overindulge on these! The hubby's favorite was the mango margarita. We plan on coming back to the mall of america tomorrow and will definitely be stopping back by for a drink break. read more

We had a group of 5 foodies who was really craving for something different. While strolling through the food court, Margaritaville was the last one at its tracks. I really, really wished I would have read the reviews before suggesting this place to eat. My friends always talked about Margaritaville in Florida and I was on vacation mode so it sounded like a good idea at the time. Boy, how wrong was I. The menu looked fun and the pictures looked better than the other menus. So we gave it a shot. The restaurant was empty. That should have been our first warning. After being seated and had our orders taken. We chatted for what seemed to be a really long time before the waiter brought in our foods. Everything looked unappealing but we took a chance anyway. My husband's bison burger was so dry. It's not a fresh patty. You can definitely tell the patty is frozen as when you chewed it, it had a rubberiness to it. The fries were also over seasoned. My appetizer sampler seemed like they took items from the freezer, heated it in the microwave, and served it. I kid you not. The temperature of my food was definitely off. Semi-warm food. I've never had a bad meal at MOA. I'm so disappointed. I will never any visit Margaritaville ever. Don't let the fun colors and music bait you to try this place. It's not worth it! read more

We came across this when we were tired of looking for another restaurant and decided why not. We were able to sit right away even with a group of 7 as the place is large. The menu seemed different then the one we did in Orlando, but that maybe because it was happy hour in Orlando. This place was pretty dead when we went in, it was 2:30pm on a week day. HOWEVER..happy hour started at 3! So we killed some time, and as soon as 3pm came, our waitress knew the plan haha. We went a little food crazy, and ordered cheese curds, the fried shrimp, chicken tenders, AND French fries. The food came super quick, and the drinks kept coming also.
