    Jimmy Buffet Day cup
    Kara C.

We've been to the Mall of America several times, but this weekend (Labor Day weekend), was the first time we've visited MARGARITAVILLE. We're staying at the Radisson Blu attached to the mall, so it seemed like a good spot to hang out. We found out that it was Jimmy Buffet Day on Friday, so we stopped in to get a tshirt. Saturday, we met some friends for dinner. I'm not thrilled about the menu as I'm not a seafood person, but my daughter and I enjoyed the fried pickles appetizer and I got a side salad. I ordered a beer in a Jimmy Buffet Day glass and my daughter got the drink in a bucket (can't remember the name). The bucket drink lacked alcohol. But, overall, food access service was ok. Sunday, my daughter and I sat at the bar at 6:45. Even though the mall closes at 7, the restaurant closes at 9. At 7, someone was told last call happened 15 minutes prior, we had no idea. But they served them anyway. Apparently when the mall closes, they can't serve alcohol. But they kept serving at the bar. People trying to get a table in the restaurant after 7 were told they're closing soon so they left. When the manager was finally out front, she was seating guests. Long story short, it was just a mess. Oh, and someone was trying to purchase merch, but they said only the manager could do that and she might be done with that. They got her and the items were purchased, but the customer waited 15 minutes. Just seemed like the employees were being lazy and trying to get out early. Desserts were good as well as the drinks. Our bartender didn't let us know she was leaving or going on break, but we were pretty much ignored. Would I return? I don't know. Definitely not towards the end of the day.

Overall, had a pretty solid meal here! The vibes are fun - on par for typical Margaritaville restaurants. Our waiter was good. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. My chipotle steak rice bowl was very good! And it was a nice departure from the typical burger and fries you find all over the mall. Would go back!

Let's just say we were not disappointed! The food options were astounding! We chose from the appetizer menu to start and realized we ONLY needed Nachos! The portion was ginormous! Between the three of us we barely put a dent! The ambiance was fun and the music was great! We sat at the bar and made small talk with the staff and bartenders. For the most part they were very friendly to the customers. The only notable part of the service was the bartender who was training newer staff was very impatient with him. The new bartender was looking defeated with all the demands. He really was doing great without all the barking. Otherwise, it was a fun experience!

Pro: Cocktails were good, strong and nice portions. Cons: Restaurant was dead at lunch time. Hostess was lifeless and didn't seem to want to be there. Not a place for healthy eating and today was a cheat meal. Wouldn't order this dish again (coconut shrimp) the shrimp felt gummy as the texture inside was off. Disappointed as this is not Margaritaville experience we are used to having.

Service was okay but the food came out cold and my chicken was dry and chewy. The atmosphere was cool and very tropical but the food Genuenly was terrible or at least my chicken and gravy . My server was amazing but the food was flat out nasty. And on top of everything, there was a hair in my food. Meh.

The cocktails are delicious! This is the Lime in da Coconut and the Bahamas Mama.

We went here for our grandson's birthday and it was a fun experience! The staff gave him a birthday shout out and brought out a bowl of ice cream for him. He was so excited and happy! Needless to say, the service and staff were wonderful and so attentive! The food was amazing! We all loved what we had ordered and it was so delicious! For a Saturday night, it was very busy and it took some time to get our food - but the little wait was worth it! The vibe was colorful, lively and so fun! The cocktails were spot on and so fun and delicious! We'll definitely dine here again! Highly recommended - you won't regret it.

This was my first time at a Margaritaville and let's just say I was not disappointed. I was completely overwhelmed and disoriented in the best way possible. Drinks were great, and food was pretty good too.

Came here on a Saturday with a reservation and a party of 6 plus 3 children. My Paloma was great and very strong, but not terribly strong where I didn't want to drink it. My son loved his parakeet punch in a light up souvenir cup. Also, upgraded his kids meal and it was served in a pirate ship, got a light up pirate sword and an ice cream sandwich! We were celebrating his birthday and they brought out a scoop of ice cream with caramel & chocolate sauce. My chicken was very juicy and mashed potatos were perfect. My husband ordered some sort of steak bowl and asked for extra steak, but didn't add very much more and charged $5. Overall enjoyed it and would come back in the future!

This was our first time here. Double burger was huge and tasty! Friendly server and fun atmosphere. Lost a star because the menus were very sticky.

Enter through the Burger spot and look for the Coca Cola machine! Once you enter Volstead House, you can't help but be transported into what feels like a Spirit Library. A huge accent wall lined from floor to ceiling with spirit bottles is the perfect back drop to this cozy hang out. Perfect for a date night, friend catch-up, or solo Whiskey adventure, Volstead House is a vibe! Pair the atmosphere with top notch, educated bartenders and mixologists...you know you'll be taken care of! We started with the A La Louisiane, a spirit-forward, whiskey cocktail with some funk from Peychauds and Absinthe. It was delicious and well balanced. We also shared the Glazed Carrots and the Parm Fries. The carrots didn't hit for me, as the glaze and sauce lacked a punch of flavor but the fries were crispy and delicious. If you have a spirit enthusiast or someone that likes to explore the world of cocktails, I think this is the perfect vibe!

First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.

Once downstairs I came upon the nice single toilet ladies room. I proceeded in to the bar, asked the blonde bartender where the music would be? She said the parties near the stage were tabbing out if I wanted to sit there? I said I would take a seat @ the end until they were through. (I'm guessing they were probably short staffed and thus had designated those areas as "unavailable", but the optics are kind of... oof.) My in-laws were visibily flustered over this (which was sort of embarrassing for me), and I think the staff realized they had a "white Boomer" situation on their hands because they decided to seat us right away rather than sticking to the previously disclosed wait time. That said, we waited quite a while while seated for anyone to come by and get us water, let alone ask what we wanted to order... So I think ultimately we waited those 15 minutes regardless. The staff were all rather unresponsive and hasty... the friendliest employee the entire time was the kitchen guy whose only point of contact with us was to give us our food. Now, the saving grace of this experience was in fact the food. I got the chicken pesto pasta and it was AMAZING. Tasted so good (though I wish they'd offered me additional cheese on top), was well prepared, and was sizeable in porportion (I took half of it home to-go). Since ultimately we were there TO EAT, this heavily influences my rating upward. If you eat here, you'll enjoy your meal. But don't expect the staff to really give you much in the way of attention or kindness. Pricing is a little on the high side, but it is a "fancy" dine-in establishment, so perhaps this is to be expected. The ambiance was fine, just not really my thing (you might have guessed this by my desire to go to Rainforest Cafe)-- it's meant to feel upscale and modern or whatever.
