Marelli drywall strung me along for three weeks. Mike didn't return phone calls, could not give me a start time for the job, charges more than other drywall companies, and takes no responsibility for previous poorly done work.
The drywall in my house has hundreds of cracks, some small, some big, there were spots where the tape was hanging off the ceiling like old masking tape. I called Marelli Drywall on a Friday and left a message, called back the next Wednesday and left a message, called back Friday and spoke with Mike, he said he would come by on Monday and look at the house. Apologized for not getting back to me sooner.
Monday he was on time. Mike said all the cracks were due to the original construction and putting up dry wall when the house wet from rain. He should know since he installed the original drywall 14 years ago when the house was built. The house dries and everything shifts. as he explained it.
Mike quoted me $67 hr per worker. I asked him if he could do better,(silly me, I assumed he might take some responsibility for the original crappy job.) His reply was no, he barely got paid the first time.
I was in a time crunch and decided to use him anyway. I asked when he could begin. He said he would call me Wednesday, he didn't, I called him on Friday, no answer. Monday I called his cell phone, he said he would get back to me tomorrow. He didn't, Wednesday I called him. He asked me what I wanted, he said he didn't have time to talk. I asked when he could call me back. He said he was in a meeting with a client.
I wondered why he was answering the phone if he was in a meeting and wasn't I a client? It was like getting a teenager to take out the garbage.
Mike did not call me back. Thursday I called and left a message, I had painting and flooring scheduled, could he do the work or not. He never called back.
Friday, 3 weeks after my first phone call, I went on Yelp and called other drywall companies. Every single one returned my call, was polite and gave me a referral if they couldn't do the work. I'd give minus numbers in this review if it was possible. read more
