Merrell Metal Works Ten years ago, Greg manufactured and…read moreinstalled railings throughout our backyard and on our front porch. We recently replaced the old concrete 2 steps with a new 3 steps pavers wrap around porch. We needed to reinstall and modify the railings to adapt to the new 3 steps. Greg is retired. Two Metal Works turned us down afraid of drilling through the pavers. Robert Merrell said he worried about cracking a paver but accepted the job. The front steps railings are perfect. For years, our driveway gates allowed deer to jump right over an devastate our front yard. I sketched a design to raise the gates to 7 feet, and Robert said, "I can do that". He did such an incredible job, that the new gates look like they had always been there. They look much better than the original. The modified gates are more proportioned to the opening. We were so happy with the results that we asked Robert to modify the pedestrian entry gate. He did it in one day, and again the results are spectacular. Did I mention that Robert is a super nice guy and scrupulously honest?

We…read moreprocrastinated for years until we both had episodes of being a couple of degrees off center - wait no more! I'm big on using Yelp - all roads pointed to Onspot Welding & Design. Made the appointment, Chris arrived, listened to our concerns, saw our needs. Took his initial measurements, a few days later we received Onspots bid. Chris let us know it might take as long as 4 to 6 months. We'd already been in the home 38 years, what's a few more months for something we need. Chris came back for a second measurement (measure twice, cut once), then one additional time to to select the handrail style, end cap (whatever it's called) and primer color. Six months later (Today), Miles and Ben delivered and installed everything - we love the results! Thank you Onspot Welding for the craftsmanship in our product, the wait was worth it. Check out their website - if your imagination can think of an object that can be made with metal, they can do it.

I consulted RPM about a railing fabrication job because I was so impressed by the photos of their work and their responsiveness, compared to other places I called. I ended up not doing the job because of factors beyond my and their control, but Paul was nice enough to send me some shop drawings in case I need them in the future. Now THAT is good customer service! - if their work is half as good as their communication and service, you will be happy. These days, it is hard to get a phone call returned, let alone good advice and even drawings, from someone who just wanted to do the right thing and make sure the customer was happy, even knowing they weren't going to get paid.
