Came here while visiting Portland. Amazing breakfast, good prices and service. Must try the hash browns.

Fantastic local diner. I ordered the special, jalapeños, bacon, omelette. I'll come back every time I'm in Portland. Great vibes and community feel.

Stop by if you're in the area! We're glad we found it. Quick, delicious food and the wait goes by fast! We loved it!

This might just be my favorite sit down breakfast place in town! The space is small and cozy, we were lucky to be seated immediately when there can be long waits at peak times. It feels very vintage inside with lots of interesting decor. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone, plus they have lots of interesting specials. When we went they had a cookies and cream muffin, a pumpkin fritter French toast, a couple of kinds of quiche and one or two other items that I can't recall. My omelette was delish and perfectly prepared, my husband got us the pumpkin fritter French toast to share which was luscious (as my grandfather would say). Everyone at our table was super happy with their meal. Coffee was typical diner fare but that's fine with us. Portions are hearty, the price is right, and service hit the mark. If I'm having breakfast in my town, it'll be Marcy's or Henny's!

DELICIOUS comfort food Easy going, friendly staff Cozy environment My friend and I decided to give Marcy's a try, since we both love breakfast and surprisingly, neither of us have tried it yet (surprising because we are both living and from Maine!) We were directed to two bar stools at the end near the grill when we walked and and I couldn't have picked a better location for us. I could watch the magic on the grill and be away from the traffice coming and going in the front door. I absolutely loved everything I ordered, which was: Grilled Blueberry Muffin as an "appetizer" and then I had the number 7 meal: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, corned beef hash, hashbrowns - SOOOO GOOD, perfectly cooked. I also ordered a pancake to share. It was thick and delicious. I took some of that home along with sausage. My friend ordered the french toast meal and loved it. She couldn't finish everything, so I took her leftover french toast. YUM!!!! I can't wait to go back. Thank you to the amazing Marcy's crew for making it a pleasure to dine there!

Had a fantastic brunch at this throw back cute diner. I ordered the veggie omelette that was delicious, home fries cooked just how I like it. My girlfriend said it was one of the best pastrami's. She's had in a long time. The table shared the gluten-free donut pancakes all I can say was oh my God delicious! I recommend this place if you're looking for a diner experience

Looking for a new spot to check out for my wife's birthday breakfast and this was the spot she wanted to try! It did not disappoint and thanks to getting up early and it being Decemeber we had no wait, although by the time we were leaving all the booths were full and some families were waiting. So expect a possible wait but I would say worth it based on the food! It's all you can ask for in a local diner. Small little booths and two sections of a bar top with the old school stools. They serve breakfast and lunch all day and have special boards for both breakfast and lunch! The breakfast menu had exactly what you'd expect a diner to offer! Everyone should easily find something they enjoy. The staff were friendly enough, but the only negative I would mention is that our server seemed much more friendly to every other table than to us. Just in the sense that it seemed to be more natural conversation and they seemed interested in talking to others. For us, it was more of a get it over with vibe. But, won't really let that factor into my rating as it seemed to be a small thing. My wife got the Number 4 and loved it, French Toast was on the colder side than we expected but wow some real tasty French Toast! I got their spicy pepper jack omelette and it alongside the hash browns and raisin bread were so good! The food is 100% worth coming here for especially if you want that small local diner vibe! I would enjoy coming back regularly to see and try their daily specials!

A great place for classic diner style breakfast food. It can be busy on the weekends, but was worth the wait. I highly recommend this place.

Friendly people. Good music. I love breakfast food. This place slaps. Really feels like a place you can read a paper at the counter over a breakfast plate. Vibes are immaculate

The service was great. Very attentive and efficient. The food was as great. My party had a variety of items, from the beet & goat cheese salad, deviled eggs, pancetta and Brussels sprouts, cheeseburger, and BLT with Lobster. Everything was high quality and delicious. The fries which came on the side of the burgers and sandwiches were also excellent. The restaurant has a nice outdoor space but the weather was a little rainy the day we went so we didn't sit outside. I do suggest they add more barriers and greenery/plants to separate the beautiful outdoor seating space from the parking lot across the way.

Looked like more tables outside than inside with a hosts podium in the middle of a wasted area. No character, a cold indoor setting. BTW, while we were serving to last couple to leave on a Sat night, the other restaurants in the area are filled with people. This place if tended to correctly with the right designer, could create more character like their competition. Menu was okay. After spending almost a week in the road in New England, all these menus start looking the same. However, the execution was terrific. Great Caesar salads and big in size and we both enjoyed our entrees, a haddock which was cooked and seasoned perfectly and a scallops in a ginger carrot puree. I would have liked my scallops seared a bit more but it was really delicious regardless. And our server was just lovely. I'm sure she wanted to go home but she never gave us that impression.

The restaurant is absolutely charming and so cozy on the inside. Service was exceptional as was the food. We got a text reminder as well as phone call reminder leading up to our reservation. On the day of our reservation we were greeted with a warm smiled and directed to our seats. Since we visited on Thanksgiving Day it was a prix fix menu which included the following: -Bread and Turkey Jam -Winter Squash Soup -Chicory & Arugula Salad -Roasted Turkey Breast -Braised Short Ribs -Ilma's Maple Bourbon Pie -Pumpkin Budin This menu was specifically made for Thanksgiving so I imagine guests who have to wait until the next Thanksgiving to enjoy the fare. What I can say is that the soup was my favorite and the turkey breast was not in the slightest dry. The short ribs were my friends favorite and we both loved the pumpkin budin. Service was polite and efficient and te music was upbeat and lively, despite the restaurant emiting a dark romantic vibe. I'm really thankful that they had reservations available and that the food was delicious since many restaurants in the area were already booked out. Thank you Wayside Tavern for a delicious meal!

According my Mainer hubby, this was the best one of the several we've had--buttered and toasted brioche bun, very fresh lobster meat. We tried the mayo-lime sauce, as hubby did not want a "naked" lobsta roll. If you like your lobster rolls classic (light mayo, maybe a squeeze of lemon), this sauce works perfectly! Potato salad was also very much on point. If the wait to sit down and dine in is too long for your liking, they do have a to-go menu (which is what we did today) . Quick and easy, with very friendly service! Do note that their to-go menu is a shorter version of their dine-in menu, as the food is coming from different kitchens! There is also outdoor seating, which is basically 2 curbside parking spots blocked off for picnic tables. Very nice to enjoy the weather if it is pleasant outside.

The waitstaff was professional and helpful with menu choices. For a summer night, we found the menu to read more like middle of winter, with heavy food choices including steak, shepherds pie, meatloaf wrapped in bacon, and short rib. While the food is very good, I expected a menu with lighter summer options, maybe incorporating more veggies. Nonetheless, I ordered the short rib which was served over mashed potatoes and spinach. The piece of short rib itself was huge and very tender and flavorful. I was disappointed that they have decided to not serve bread with the meal anymore. It's bread. And for the price we pay for a meal, a few complimentary pieces would have gone a long way. Now, you need to pay for bread if you want it. I also wanted a small side salad with my meal, and not the entrée sized salads available on the menu. Our server was able to give me a bowl of Just greens dressed with their phenomenal vinaigrette dressing. It hit the spot. My husband had the flat iron steak, which he felt was good, but not great. The piece of steak itself was on the smaller side, and he was not a fan of the potato hash or parsnips. Again, heavy winter meal. He did order a side of the mushroom risotto, which was probably one of the best bites of the meal. It was out of this world! This was a good meal, but overall not a great meal. I hope they can pull it together. Maybe the lack of a full house at 6 pm on a Sat summer night should be a call to re-look at what could be improved.
