We thoroughly enjoyed our pizza from here tonight. We ordered a cheese, a Hawaiian pizza, meatball bake and a cauliflower crust Philly pizza. Newly gluten free I have been searching for places that offer YUMMY replacements. This place is it. My Philly pizza was so good. The crust was a bit soggy, but it is cauliflower. I think it will be good in my air fryer tomorrow! The meatball bake was devoured by my family. The kids loved the cheese pizza. My husband wasn't a big fan of his Hawaiian pizza. Food is good and the staff is polite. They get very busy on the weekends, so orders take longer than the App/Web automatically says. Also, when they are busy they can make an error, but they are always quick to resolve it. Love the pizza and bone in wings! read more

Worst customer service and it effected my food. I ordered two pizzas grubhub told me ready to pick up at 6:02 so I was there waiting inside and told them my name etc. but nobody answered me once i told them my name they would just go "look" and not say anything when they came back just help another customer. Until after 45 minutes I said "can you just give me a time estimate? is the pizza made yet? It told me 6:02 pick up time" this was at 6:43 Once again he just asked my name then didn't say anything to me just had one of the kids there turn around and grab my boxes off the counter where I saw them sitting since I got there. called my name while i was standing right there and handed it to me. so by that time my pizza was not as fresh and they made me feel completely offended and not happy. Although Marco's Pizza is a chain, the Retail Dr location is still my go to pizza place. Staff is always friendly and acknowledge you as soon as you enter the store. Pizza is consistently very good and you can build your own at a fair price. read more

Marco's is sometimes hit or miss, but most of the time the pizza is the most amazing pizza. When they get it right, which is most of the time, it is fantastic. We eat pizza every week on our weekly Pizza Day because we love pizza. Although the last time they messed it up - and gave a free pizza replacement, but that was not great either, but I didn't ask for another - this time, I was extremely satisfied with my pizza. Marcos has redeemed itself. Marcos is basically the only place I eat out at, I never order anything from any other restaurant besides Dominos. I used to get Dominos only, but Old World Pepperoni from Marco's and the overall taste is better at Marcos, although this is my opinion. I will still occasionally eat at Domino's for variety though and I do still love Domino's pizza too. Today when we ordered it was a completely wonderful experience. They got it perfect, and although not quite "well-done", it wasn't burnt like last time, and tasted amazing. My faith is restored in Marcos. The only positive thing about this place is it's location. For Second time I placed an carry out order and was told to pick it up in 30 min which I did. When I showed up to pick my order, the employee did not found any order under my name. The best thing is that she refers me to the manager and he ask me how do I know I placed the order at that location. I showed them the phone number I used and the location info that was provided. Waited over 3 hours for food for 2 people to deliver, and we live .2 miles away. Yes across the street. Thought $10 in tip and delivery fees should cover .2 mile trip. No call or explaination when I called in except "Since we made your phone so long ago we can remake your food and send it back out with a driver or give you a refund" No apology or explaination. Marco's pizza is our favorite take out/delivery pizza spot. Their pizza is always so delicious and they always have ample toppings so there are plenty of toppings per slice. I usually call in our order and pick up the pizza at the store and it is always ready within the quoted time frame. The staff is friendly and the location and parking are great. read more

Hubs and I have been waiting for a while for Marco's to open.... not because we need another pizza option, but because we received marketing flyers and coupons and were just excited for something new to come to Wake Forest! Huge plus--they deliver! We definitely need more delivery options in WF. We used our $9.99 coupon for a large, one topping pizza, this past weekend, AKA grand opening weekend, so we knew the wait would probably be significant. They said it would take an hour, it took more like an hour 10, but we understood. New staff learning new routes, and I'm sure they were slammed. Our pizza, extra cheese, arrived piping hot and they were not slim on the cheese. The amount of cheese was massive, which pretty much equals one heavenly piece of pie! It had wonderful flavor, much better than any chain pizza you get. The Wake Forest restaurant has delivery and take-out options, but no dine-in. I'm unsure if this is standard for all Marco's, but just don't expect to ride up into Marco's and have dinner there. The menu is pretty diverse: pizza, subs, salads, wings, and apps/desserts items. My review is for delivery and not for dine in so keep that in mind. First things first the delivery was on time and most importantly the guy had all the things right and did not forget a single thing and that includes red pepper and parmesan cheese packets. The pizza which I ordered was a veggie pizza and it was delicious and it is one of the best I have had since moving from New York. It was perfectly cooked and cheese was of right amount. Terrible customer service. I placed an order on their app to pick up at my usual restaurant. It send it to another location 11 miles away plus the drive I had already done. Total about 40 miles altogether. I called the wrong location from the other restaurant for 10 minutes while no one picks up. I decide to drive over while I am calling from my vehicle. No one picks up and by now I am pissed! I walk in and there are 5 employees standing around somewhat busy with no customer inside other than me. I tell the young lady what happened with my prefer as she gets it. I ask her do your phones not work. Her response is " I don't know I am just the driver". So I call the restaurant again and the phone rings. So your phone does work you guys just don't pick up. I paid abs walked out. This is why I never come to this location which is a lot closer to my house. Terrible service. Needs new ownership! read more

They were 10 minutes ahead of their projected time which is a plus and the delivery driver was great. Last time we ordered pizza from a chain and not a local joint it was the Dominos down the road and it was awful. Apparently they don't miss us THAT much. We are 3 miles from this place & just got a mailer to "come back!" SO I tried to order a pizza just now for lunch & was told MY ADDRESS isn't within their delivery range. Huh? So I tell him I'm calling because I received their mailer. His response? "We can't deliver to you since you are too close to the cut off area & we are really busy & I can't have my driver out that long." I love the New York style Pizza! We folded it -- just like old times, lol. Good sauce, cheese, toppings, and the crust was very good. We had wings too, they were okay. Have to update my review. Marco's started out strong, but I get the impression that day-to-day operations are now being overseen by a bunch of kids. My order is almost always wrong. My latest experience: I ordered a New Yorker pizza for delivery with a quoted time of 45 minutes. It arrived almost an hour later. The pizza was lukewarm and the crust was completely indistinguishable from the regular crust, so either there is no difference between the regular crust and New Yorker crust or they messed up my order. Also, I ordered my pizza cut into 8 slices. The person cutting my pie didn't bother to notice this until after the first two cuts were made, because while there were 8 slices, 2 of them were literally half the size of the other slices. Clearly they had begun to cut the pie into 10 or 12 slices, realized their mistake, and instead of making a new pizza (the correct approach), they just kept going. This happens about 80% of the time that I order a larger pie cut into 8 slices. I order delivery because of the convenience, so when my order is messed up, I can either drive to the store to get it right or just settle for something I didn't order. Neither of those options are convenient, so what's the point? I'm done with Marco's. read more

Have ordered few times delivery and have had a pretty good experience so far. On one order got are cheese steak totally wrong like no meat or cheese just mushrooms and when I called they went above and beyond to make it right. Will definitely order agin. But my address doesn't show up so online is impossible and it's not very user friendly online ordering that is. read more

A Marco's Pizza driver decided to pull out right in front of my car, and when I honked, the lovely driver flicked me off. Since I was close to the shop, I pulled right in to tell a manager about what had happened. I was greeted by a snarky assistant manager who basically called me a liar and then sent me on my way. Terrible, I repeat terrible, customer service. From being flicked off not to mention nearly get in a wreck with a jerk of a pizza driver to having the assistant manager give no apology, I am disgusted with Marco's Pizza in Wake Forest. This was my go to pizza place. They made a stupid management decision and threatened to tow 84 parking spots when many of us actually had ordered pizza from them. This is a take out joint....why do they need all those parking spots? Would not a better business decision been to post a few more spots as theirs and not threaten everyone else. So sad the young kids that work here (many I teach as I am a high school teacher) see the stupidity of a knee jerk reaction of the owner rather than a a reasonable way to negotiate issues with neighbors. Food is good but I ordered carry out that my son picked up. When he got home the order was wrong so he went back with the receipt. When he got home again, the order was STILL wrong so I had to go back a third time. There was one employee there that did say they were sorry but there was no explanation nor compensation offered. I wasn't expecting my order to be free, but a coupon for the next order would have been nice. After trying several pizza places in and around Wake Forest (we moved here from northern Virginia), we "found" Marco's...right across the street from our local Harris Teeter. Wow! What a great flavor, and toppings are loaded on in just the right proportion. Our fav's are extra large mushroom and sausage AND mushroom and pepperoni. Both have a terrific sauce that makes this pizza unique - and delicious. And, yes, it is reminiscent of the pizza I ate in Rome, Italy. Worth the money. read more

We ordered a large regular pizza from Marco's when they first opened. It wasn't bad, but I liked that they delivered. Tonight we went to order an X-Lg. Pizza with 2 toppings for $12.99, and stated we wanted thin crust. The girl answering the phone stated, you can't get thin crust with the X-Large pizza. I asked why, and she stated, "I don't know." She said you can get a large pizza made thin for $19.99. When the pizza was delivered, the pizza did come hot, but it wasn't like a real thin crust pizza. It looks like they took a piece of cardboard and put a little bit of sauce and cheese on it. It actually tasted like cardboard. So we were charged $7.00 more for less crust, less cheese and less sauce, and it was horrible. I don't plan on ordering Marco's pizza again. read more
