DIY sausage, cheese, onion, olives - yum

Yum! Love the old world pepperoni pizza! I also ordered an original crust with sausage, onions, mushrooms and black olives. Also two yummy subs: Phillie cheesesteak and Italian. Always good!

The pizzoli thats nothing but false advertisement. WASTE and JOKE

We wanted to try a new pizza place and had seen some commercials so decided to try Marcos. The staff was nice and the upfront of the store was clean. When I first walked in the girl at the register said hold on then just walked away. There were 3 other employees and one of them came and asked if I had been helped and took over w a great attitude and welcoming unlike the first interaction I had and started to give very regretful that I chose this place feelings. All that went away talking with the girl who got my order and rang it up. Food was good, I do feel like and was not the only one to say that the cheesy bread definitely needed more cheese. The pizza was great. no changes needed there at all. The pizzoli that was another story, when my partner cut it in half we were both seriously freaked out and trying to laugh to not get upset, this thing was a JOKE! I took pictures so you can see exactly what I mean. I could see coming back but it would be for pizza only and nothing else at all.

I decided to order pizza since MSC UVA partners with them for monthly resident discounts (40%). Even with 40% off, Marco's Pizza is not worth the cost. Ouch! Ordering online is quick and efficient. Their website is easy to navigate, and I ordered for pick-up (carry out). The location is tucked away off the main road, but is situated in a strip of stores. I ordered one of their hot deals for two deluxe pizzas (which cannot be combined with other deals and promotions, so I was ineligible for the 40% discount). One pizza was the bbq chicken with blue cheese and the other was the white cheese pizza, which I customized with mushrooms instead of meat. The pizza dough was thin and I'm not convinced the dough was entirely cooked. The chicken was low-quality, and tasted like the pre-cut, packaged chicken strips you get at the grocery store. I found it odd that the base of the pizza was essentially a plain cheese pizza too; it didn't look like the pizza was made fresh, but rather my toppings were added to some strange base pizza made with cheese and tomato sauce. The bbq sauce didn't mix well with all the flavors going on. As for the white slice, I was confused by the soft, limp tomato slices. Maybe I misread the ingredients, but the taste was subpar. I could have done without them. Overall, I had a poor experience. Clearly, Domino's $5.99 deal is superior/unbeatable. I will not be returning to Marco's Pizza (a sad excuse for a national pizza chain and an abomination to a NY native). I'm rating 2 stars for the service, but 0 for the food (taste and quality).

Fresh, HOT AND crispy. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza with a nice cold Fanta soda. It was gone within minutes. Cooked well and very fresh!

Pizza is fair! Not amazing, not bad. Just fine for the price but not "write home about it" good. Service was good in that people were nice.

Husband and I went here for dinner during our first night in Charlottesville. The pizza had great…read moretextures- thin crust on the bottom but bready at the edge, and the right amount of cheese and spicy sausage topping. We each got a pizza and were able to finish both since we were starving. We loved the pizza scissors! Our server was prompt, and we felt lucky to be seated right away on a Wednesday night. Their connecting bar was having a concert outside, with what felt like hundreds of people in attendance. We also learned that we could park in the industrial warehouse lot next door since it was after 5 PM. We'll be back!

Thankfully, got the drink and were called in early about 15 minutes into the wait. That little surprise made things start off on a good note. Once inside, we sat at the bar since there weren't tables available and we were HUNGRY and cold! Even with the weather and a busy crowd, everything felt smooth and relaxed. AMBIANCE The place was small and cozy with a warm vibe that instantly made us forget the rain outside! The cool shallot-shaped lamps over the bar gave off soft light, making the whole space feel super calm and inviting. Sitting at the bar felt right choice for us for our first time -- close enough to the energy of the restaurant and people watching and seeing the pizzas get made but still comfortable! There's a soft buzz but cozy enough to chat and just feel at home. FOOD We ordered the Abruzzo pizza with beef and pork meatballs, fiore di latte, San Marzano tomato, basil, and pecorino. It was hearty and rich but still balanced. We also wanted to try the Prosciutto pizza, which was not the favorite but still good. The San Marzano tomato sauce for the Abruzzo was the star of the show. We were sad we didn't order another pizza with the tomato sauce to switch it up but oh well, another time right?! Loved the floppiness, the tomato sauce flavor, and the crust! Have to love the scissor-plate idea -- very clever and so easy. And size of these personal small-sized pizzas perfect for 2 people so we could have room for dessert and not have leftovers! We finished with the Zeppole "donuts" which were fried ricotta donuts tossed in cinnamon sugar with a hint of lemon (which I LOVED the lemon here and cinnamon sugar worked perfectly!). They were light, warm, crispy and just what you want at the end of a meal. The food was delicious, though definitely on the pricier side ($16-$18 each for the small pizzas, $9 for dessert. Still, everything felt thoughtful and worth it for the quality!

We came back to this spot and took our pizzas and meatball sandwich to go. The art park has some places you could eat outdoors, though some are marked off for other businesses. For a 100% takeout, it wasn't the smoothest experience. They ran out of some things, they ran a bit over the projected order time, and they forgot my beverage, which thankfully I realized before I'd gotten very far. The flavor delivered as I would have hoped, with pure tomato tang, fresh basil, and a delectable charred crust on the core pizza I got. Adding a vegetable sandwich was a good decision in terms of taste, but either the preserved peppers they use or some other ingredient was so salty it took me a while to recover from even eating half of it. I do give them credit for offering sparkling water at a reasonable price. And of note, the budino dessert they offer, while described as pudding, is something that I learned is actually vegetarian (albeit with dairy and eggs), and delivered more excellent flavor. Overall, the amount I got for the money was not great, and while there were ample quality ingredients, I would sooner go back to eating in.
