Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and they stand up to bigotry in their own backyard. You can't get much better than that. The only drawback (if you can even consider it one) is just figuring out a good time to arrive to avoid a line. Regardless, even if there is one, the staff moves through it quickly and efficiently. As Sub Cultured is a walk-up window, there's some outside tables to sit, as well as the option of sitting in your car for that car-hop action. Otherwise, you're so close to the beach and parks that taking your sandwiches for a picnic isn't a bad idea either. If you can't find parking immediately at Sub Cultured, there's a little shopping center just next door since there doesn't seem to be much for street parking outside of their handful of spots. All of that said, I'm a transplant to Jacksonville via the Navy since 2004. One of the biggest cravings that I have from back home is a real authentic sausage, pepper, and onion grinder.
