I can only make my own observations concerning Dr. Gaballa and his staff. Calling and getting an appointment was a snap. Shannon was polite and very accommodating to make my appointment as soon as possible. On appointment day, two days later, pleasant greeting upon walking into lobby area. sat no longer than 5 minutes before ushered to an examine room. Staff immediately took xrays and prepped me for the doctor. Dr Gaballa came to introduce himself and explain the procedure about to take place (root canal). Did not waste anytime using numbing gel before injecting novacaine in multiple spots surrounding the tooth in question. Obviously Dr Gaballa used extra amount of novacaine because I literally felt nothing within minutes. Staff was present the whole time during the procedure and very evident they were exceptionally skilled assisting the doctor. I was so relaxed during the procedure that I almost fell asleep! The whole operation lasted less than 45 minutes. I have had two root canals performed previously by two different dentists , while the work they each did was satisfactory Dr. Gaballa and his staff has significantly raised the bar for professionalism and customer service. read more

Dr. Gabella performed a root canal that was very expensive, even with insurance coverage. The procedure was not successful or complete as he did not get all of the nerve out. I returned to him for a re-assessment, and to my surprise, the procedure had to be redone. To my astonishment, Dr. Gabella was so greedy as to charge me the full price for the repeat procedure. The yelp reviews aren't great and initially that made me nervous but the yelp reviews are all billing problems. The use of "the wand" made anesthetizing super pain free and everything went really well for my first root canal. Minus some soreness for a few days for the bite block, I'm now pain free and loving life again! read more

Dr. Geballa is the most unprofessional dental provider I have ever encountered. My significant other was referred to his office by our primary dentist to have a root canal on tooth #31. He went in for the procedure last week but was unable to have the root canal completed because he experienced anxiety during the procedure and felt as if he was unable to breath with the rubber dental dam that was inserted in his mouth. Instead of addressing the underlying anxiety or referring him to another specialist, he was informed they could not do the procedure that day so he left the office. We called the office this week and rescheduled the root canal for tomorrow only to shortly thereafter receive a phone call from Dr. Geballa himself stating that he would not perform the procedure and that he has the right to refuse service. When we asked follow up questions about what we should do from here given the root canal is necessary, he responded that he was not going to be interrogated. In reading information from online it seems that the issue my significant other was experiencing is fairly common for this type of procedure, so Dr. Geballa should have at the very least been able to advise us what to do to avoid the same issue reoccurring at the next appointment date. The way he spoke to us was very dismissive and showed absolutely zero concern for a patient who is in pain and requires an essential dental procedure. He stated to us that it was not his problem and to try finding an endodontist that does IV sedation. read more

Was given an estimate only to get a bill of $1,000 extra which my insurance says was for a procedure not authorized. When calling the office, they tell me I need to speak to their billing department and I am given a phone number where nobody answers and don't return calls. I understand that when given an estimate you can expect a bit of extra charge but $1K! is outrageous! I am reporting this to Better Business Bureau. I am forced to pay so that my credit is not ruined but it is appalling that they would proceed with a procedure not authorized by my insurance and NOT tell me about it until after the fact! This is fraud and abuse and from reading other comments, I am not the first patient this has happened to. read more

Marc Geballa DDS dental practice is a scam, I don't recommend going to this dentist, they try to rip-off they're patience. I went to his office for him to look at a root canal, it took him least then two mins and he did nothing for my tooth, told me I had to get my tooth extracted. Also, he didn't even give me any treatment (antibiotic or penicillin) knowing I had an abscess on my tooth after the visit my tooth got worst in a couple of days. He sent me a bill for over 200 dollars, for less than a 5 mins visit. I recommend if your dentist send you to this dentist as ask for another referral. I call the office and receptionist did not try to discuss my concerns (she said, " This is our prices".) Be aware of scamming dentist office like this that target patience to make money for doing nothing. read more

I typically do not do reviews but after my recent experience, I feel I should warn future patients of this practice. I gave it 2 stars because my experience in the office was overall pretty pleasant. I visited the Bowie office, I was nervous as it was my first root canal but the initial consultation and procedure appointments were seamless and painless. However, a few months later I received a bill from them that looked wrong as it did not match the quote OR the EOB from my insurance. I have HMO insurance so i'm pretty much only supposed to pay what they tell me (which I later verified with the company numerous times). With this insurance i've had to visit an oral surgeon and of course my Primary dentist and I have not had any issues with either of those offices, so I know it's a business issue and not an insurance issue. I reviewed the bill and noticed that I was charged for 3 teeth instead of 2 because they charged for one of my teeth twice. I reached out to this office numerous times over the past year to try to rectify the issue. At first nobody reached back out and then I finally spoke with someone who said they would contact my insurance to investigate. This never happened and now i've gotten a letter from a collection agency where the price they've given me is not only more than I owed originally but also more than what the Dental office told me. These practices are unacceptable, so please beware. While they may do great work (as many others have noticed), they are not open and honest about their business practices. If you can find somewhere else to go that will be less of a headache that is my advice. read more

As a child, I had a horrible experience with a terrible dentist. I guess that is why I am dental-phobic. Therefore,I neglected an abscessed tooth for months, dreading a root canal. I was foolish. Dr. Geballa was kind, understanding, and through. Although any initial numbing, especially on a "hot" tooth," is uncomfortable, the rest of the procedure was a walk in the park. I was referred to Dr. Geballa by my primary care dentist. I had a good consultation with Dr. Geballa and the office in general. When I first walked in, I was greeted by Candy and another lady at the front desk. Both of them were very polite.They got my information right away and let me know that the doctor should be right with me. My appointment time was 4:00p.m., and I did get there right at 4:00. However, I still didn't wait very long and I was called back within 10 minutes. They took an x-ray of my tooth and within 5 minutes Dr. Geballa came in. He was very polite and helpful and let me know that even thought I didn't feel any pain, it is still recommended that I get the re-treatment done. Once the appointment was finished I met with Candy and she went over the pricing with my insurance and let me know what the insurance covers. She did state that I will have to pay when I book the appointment, which is fine because most offices require this, especially for a procedure. Overall, I had a great first experience and I was very pleased. read more

The front office and receptionists are rude. I was recommended for a root canal by my normal dental office due to my doctor having an emergency. Unfortunately, the receptionists and front office have a poor attitude that led to me not seeing Dr. Geballa. I did not follow through because of how dissatisfied I was with their attitudes. Dr. Geballa was unable to preform the procedure I went in for so he informed me that I would get a partial refund for the work that was done. I was in his office a total of 30 minutes and he ended up charging me $250 above what my in-network insurance paid for the procedure. My wife went there for a root canal in 2016. They told her it would cost $1000. She asked them before if the insurance will cover it. They informed her it would cover half, and if she had $500 they could do it that same day. She came back two days later with $500 to do the procedure. A couple of months later she gets a $500 bill in the mail. She calls and they inform her they thought her insurance would cover half, they made a mistake and she now owes the remaining $500. She informs them it was their mistake and she shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. She had cheaper options at other dental places if she was going to do it without insurance. They put it on her credit. This allegedly sounds like a scam, but i'll let people be the judge. Please beware and make sure you get everything in writing, so they don't come back at you with a huge bill read more

I received a referral for Dr. Geballa, an endodontist from another dentist. After leaving my dentist office, I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Geballa. The scheduler refused to schedule an appointment until i provided all of my insurance information first. I told her that I had both Delta Dental and MetLife but could not provide the the specific information until I got home. She still refused to schedule an appointment until i provided the information. I decided to go to another endodontist and had no trouble scheduling an appointment. In fact, when I offered to give her my insurance information, she said that I could provide it on the day of the appointment. I decided to call Dr. Geballa's scheduler to ask is he accepted patients who had no insurance. The answer was yes. This practice would would immediately schedule an appointment for a patient with no insurance, but refused to schedule an appointment for someone who has insurance without immediate verification. This makes absolutely no sense and does not pass the smell test. I personally would just simply stay away from this practice. read more
