Recently had granite counter tops and subway tile backsplash installed all originally suggested by Dale based on our photos of our kitchen and after meeting him and showing him what I liked and what my hubby liked (nowhere near the same page!) Dale is a miracle worker!!! Not only did he find something we could compromise on, he found something we both love! In addition the contractors were great! Came when they said, cleaned up after themselves , were super nice, no loud music or weird stuff, it was an A+ experience. Now if Dale is available for deciding everything else were in business seriously call them if you're in the market. Oh yeah, I forgot to add, the price for materials and labor were competitive. Look no further for your one stop shop. Purchased the most beautiful porcelain from Dale and he set me up with a fabricator and contractor in order to get our kitchen, bar, and bathroom redone. He also recommended the backsplash (which turned out beautIful. Dale and Cecilia coordinated everything and they were able to get the entire job done in 2 weeks! This is the best place you will find if your looking for new countertops. They gave a huge inventory, everything is organized. The owner, Dale is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We ended up liking quartzite buying 2 quartzite slabs. Dale scheduled fabrication and the layout. This was a worry free process. We did not ultimately use Marble Yard for our countertop, but I really appreciated Dale's service and wanted to leave a few words here. Dale immediately responded to my text messages and scheduled a time to come give an estimate. He showed up on time and had a detailed estimate with schematics / measurements within an hour (IIRC) of leaving the house. He was full of detailed information when we visited the Marble Yard. He told us about Anti-Etch treatment applied after installation that would give us more peace of mind about our marble, in terms of things not staining and NOT ETCHING. Note that he works closely with his installers, and his reviews reflect the final installed product, not just the slabs. read more

This is an update of a review I posted 11/4/2016 I gave Dale and The Marble Yard a 5 star review back in November 2016 when I finally got my long planned for renovation of my kitchen started. At that time, I raved about his service and help in picking out the most beautiful granite I had seen (and I went to 5 or 6 granite yards before finding his) and selling it to me in June of 2013. Yes, that's right, not a typo, I bought the granite in June 2013! Dale graciously kept my granite at the Marble Yard for OVER 4 1/2 years while I struggled with architects and the County Planning department to get my home remodel approved and underway. Today the glorious day arrived - I met my fabricator and Dale at The Marble Yard to pick up my "babies", and they were every bit as beautiful as the first day I laid eyes on them. Dale assisted the fabricator in orienting the templates to make the best use of the three partial slabs I purchased (another plus with The Marble Yard - they will sell you partial slabs!!), then he personally loaded them on the fabricator's truck for the long drive from Anaheim to Altadena. In the almost five years I have been struggling with this remodel I have been to nearly a dozen granite yards, an equal amount of Tile showrooms, and have worn out my fingers searching the internet for materials. The service I received from Dale and The Marble Yard was exceptional. He was pleasant to work with, eager to educate me about natural stone, and accommodated my long-drawn out schedule without complaint (or a storage charge). I haven't actually purchased the stone for our remodel yet, so ordinarily I'd feel it was too early to write a review, but I had such a positive experience today that I feel inclined to write a review now, and will update it once we're through the whole process. Let me state first that my architect and an acquaintance who installs granite, both recommended another place (BC Stone), and we went there first. That experience was unsettling and unrewarding--we were shown around by someone who had the body language of a person who is trying to bolt out of there. By contrast, when I showed up at Marble Yard today, Dale listened carefully to what I was looking for, and when he realized that I was shopping for stone in two separate areas, he took the time to focus on each area separately. He actually led me to the specific slabs that he thought were the best fit for my needs, and seemed to have a strong almost emotional connection to the marble and granite he showed me. His inner artist came out when he told me the pros and cons of each, and I got completely swept up in the process. This is very different from the experience I had previously (not just when I checked out the place the architect recommended last week, but also when we did our kitchen in the past, and went to several granite yards where we were left to our own devices to wander around and figure out what we liked. Dale showed me only the ones that were appropriate for our project (for example didn't let me fall in love with something that was inappropriate for use outdoors etc). I expected the price to be higher because I felt like I was getting the Nordstrom treatment, but the prices seem extremely reasonable, especially since he said that both areas I was shopping for were small enough to use a half slab, which he is willing to sell for half the price of a full slab. I feel like this is the sort of business that you WANT to support, and I look forward to completing the process and updating my review! read more

The owner, Dale, is the nicest guy. He showed me around his extensive collection of slabs, and gave me some good advice. He also sold me a half slab , which others do not do. When I thought my tile guy was not going to work out, he offered to help get the slab installed. Then graciously backed off when my tile guy reappeared. I am wrapping up a total gut job small bathroom renovation and we wanted marble to use for the shelves and shower bench, pony wall trim etc. Up to this point I have met a variety of business owners or sales reps who treated me in such a derogatory and patronizing manner. I even had one owner repeatedly tell me my ideas were stupid and not possible. Luckily I have come across a few people along the way that were super kind, helpful, positive and a wonderful reminder that honest, good people exist. Our fabricator team, Reyna and Alejandro from Master Granite in Anaheim, suggested we go look at a marble slab at Marble Yard as I had told them of our frustration with the rudeness or aggressive sales tactics we had found at a few other businesses on 'tile row' on St. College. Dale and his team were there to greet us, educate us a bit about marble and our needs and the piece we wanted to see. We ended up really liking it and purchasing it today. Our fabricator can pick it up from them directly and - get this - return the rest that we don't need from the slab. In other words, a partial slab purchase which none of the other businesses we had been to prior said they would do or even believe anyone would do. So we are very excited to see the marble we purchased installed. Once put in I will come back and share some photos on this review. After Dale and his team did an excellent job with marble in our bathroom 5 years ago, it was only logical to go back to Dale when we wanted to remodel the kitchen in our new home because he carries such a wide selection of quality products. This time we opted for Quartz, and we found these gorgeous Italian quartz slabs that looked 100x better than all the cheap looking Chinese quartz we had seen in other places. This has beautiful veining, depth and detail and looks totally natural. And very price competitive for the huge step up in quality! Dale took great care in working with the fabricators about the layout, making sure we needed the minimum amount of slabs (3) for the maximum effect we wanted especially with double and exposed waterfall edges on our island. Dale and the Marble Yard are the best place to purchase stone! I came to Dale after having a horrible experience at another store where they switched the marble I bought and installed the wrong stuff and tried to see if I wouldnt notice. I puchased two slabs of Carrara Marble form Dale for my kitchen and his selection was amazing. He took time to walk us through the various samples and explain the price difference and reasons why. Unlike most yards, Dale is willing to sell partial slabs which is great. We needed 1 full slab and about 1/3 of a second slab. This saved us a lot of money since we did not have to buy two slabs like most places. Dale also reccomended a fabricator to cut and installed the marble who was amazing. They do amazing work and the edge detail is super! Most people cannot even find the seam without looking very hard. Their prices are very competitive and you will probably get a better product. Installation is superb and the end result looks like a product that should have cost 10 times as much. Cannot recommend them enough!!!! read more

Dale is the best! We used him 13 years ago and when we needed to redo the kitchen after a slab leak we went straight back to him. They have the best selection of stone including many you just don't see elsewhere. Dale came out and measured our kitchen and said we needed two slabs. Our contractor hired some fabricators who said no way you need to purchase one more. Long story short Dale convinced our contractor his fabricator could do it with two. Not only did Dale's guys do it with two they offered many suggestions and the job was done better than we imagined. read more

What a relief to find this gem! I started my kitchen countertop search with a different company that was so unprofessional and then I got on yelp, which led me to Marble Yard. Should have started here. From the first call, Dale was so easy to talk to and so professional. He was upfront with cost and expectations. Next day I had an appointment to look at some stones. The selection of stones was impressive - both the outdoor space and the indoor warehouse. I met with both Dale and Rodrigo (who is such a sweetheart!) and Dale had a stone picked out for me. Although the stone wasn't what I had in mind, Dale explained how it was a better fit for my kitchen than what I had originally wanted. I'm SOOOO glad I took his advice! Before long I had Hugo (the installer) and his partner coming to measure my counter tops and we met again at the warehouse to map it on the quartzite slabs, highlighting the veins and areas I wanted to keep. It was such a fun process -- I loved being about include my input and to watch Dale, the creative genius, at work. Cecelia was available via text to coordinate everything and was so quick to respond to questions. The end result was beautiful! If you are on the hunt, look no further! I first starting shopping for granite for my new kitchen in October 2014. The Marble Yard was my first stop, and I'm so glad that it was. Wayne met me in the yard and wandered around with me. Since I was clueless about all things granite, he gave me quite an education by telling me about all of the materials, where they were from, and what to look for when choosing my granite. It was great to talk with someone so knowledgable and personable. That being said, he never pressured me to make a quick decision or buy on the spot. Quite the opposite, he encouraged me to look around and take the time to decide on the perfect match for my kitchen. I revisited 3 times over 8 months before finally purchasing my perfect pieces of granite. Wayne gave a reassuring promise that until the product was fabricated, I could exchange or refund the transaction. That is very comforting when buying something as pricey as natural stone. (I can't really speak to the price of the product because I only shopped here before buying...but I think the price I paid was fair for the great pieces I got.) In the days leading up to the fabrication and install, Wayne and Dale were helpful in templating the granite...making sure that it showed in just the perfect way. Wayne even sent pictures of the fabrication process the day or two before install. Today is installation day and I couldn't be happier. It looks amazing and although it's taken me nearly 9 months to get to this point(we had a lot of delays on the remodel journey), I have to say that visiting the Marble Yard as my first stop for counters was the best decision ever. Odd experience ... I was searching for granite for my kitchen counter, so I deferred to Yelp. After reading about this place on Yelp, which had a raving review from the last reviewer, I decided to give this place a try. The yard selection was decent compared to others in Anaheim (a lot of them where located around tile mile), but Marble Yard's selection I would say is on the higher end ... but that's just my personal impression based on my limited knowledge visiting the various slab yards and their selection. Dale, as another reviewer mentioned, does look a little like John Denver ... who was very nice and helpful compared to other yards where you have to flag someone down. So after visiting this place a couple of times, I was ready to pull the trigger and purchase my slabs from Marble Yard. This is where my experience got weird. With the stone all picked out, I gave Dale my contact info ... and I even emailed him pictures of the current kitchen layout so he could get an idea on how the stone would flow / fit together. He was going to recommend a fabricator based on the stone I picked out, but wanted some time to think about it ... well he never responded back to me ... so I figure if he didn't want my business, I would give it to someone else. One thing I really applaud about this place, that other slab yards should follow, is that Marble Yard sells scraps and half slabs for smaller projects, as a way to minimize cost when you don't really need a whole slab. But if you want more of a selection, stroll over to Marbolis or Ollin, but don't expect the same service and help with your selection that Dale provides here. read more

A follow-up on my review from May 2016.... Last May I wrote a glowing review of this company. Have I changed my mind since then? Absolutely not! If anything I am looking for that sixth star :) The topic for this review is "Follow-up" To recap...my Balboa Island kitchen job was a small one last year but I was never made to feel that way. Everything went perfectly. A few weeks ago I made the mistake of leaving a container of lime juice to thaw on my counter and it leaked and etched my beautiful limestone. I texted Dale with photos in a panic... telling him I had ruined my counter. He quickly responded and assured me that it would all be just fine and that he would send a professional out to refinish. Jorge came out yesterday and did a beautiful job. It actually looks more beautiful than ever. And, by the way, limestone is an amazing natural stone that is unlike any other. If you are looking to have your space be unique and rich it's a great choice. I am so happy that I chose limestone for my kitchen countertops and especially Marble Yard. My review is a bit overdue because I actually purchased 2 slabs of quartzite from them a year and a half ago, but I promised I would write a review because the experience was so awesome! First of all, they helped me find the most gorgeous quartzite with a leathered finish. Truly a showstopper! I get comments on it all the time; it's unique, beautiful and extremely durable. Their selection is amazing. The gentleman who helped me was so knowledgable, and steered me away from the white marble I thought I had my heart set on, and I'm so glad he did. Secondly, their prices are excellent and they will allow you to purchase partial pieces, which can save you a lot of money. Lastly, their customer service was above and beyond. After my contractor got grout stuck in the fissures of the stone, they came out to my house (free) to fix it for me. Just wonderful all around. Let me just start by saying if we ever need anything again this will be our first and only stop. We were remodeling our kitchen. We had some older granite that we already had for our kitchen top that we were trying to match. We had been to several places with no luck. As we were getting ready to give up and find a complmentary piece we found this place. From the very first call he was very helpful. Right away he said he had a piece and to send him a picture. Just like that we had our finishing piece. We went out a week later to take a look and we were amazed how HUGE his selection was. He took us right to the peice and it was as perfect of a match as we were going to get. The price was very reasonable. To top it off we didn't even have to take it off the lot.
