I went to see Mike at Marble World for a quote on quartz countertops for my kitchen. I would not recommend him to anyone based on the way I was treated in addition to being the highest priced of th 8 stores I have visited. He was rude, condescending, (talked down to be like I was a blonde idiot. When in fact I have built 3 houses from the dirt up) He and his shop are unprofessional and his person as well as his shop is dirty an unkempt. Had to go home and take a shower. I don't recommend working with Mike at Marble World. He lied several times to me and became belligerent whenever we asked a question or requested a design feature that was not what HE WANTED to sell us. All in all working with Mike made the process unnecessarily stressful. To make matters worse, when the fabricator installed the countertop, he discovered that he's cut the sink opening too small. Instead of apologizing and offering to fix it, all he said was "oops, I guess I should measured it", then shrugged his shoulders and proceeded to install the midsized counter top. There are so many places in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County that fabricate countertops, I recommend eliminating stress by avoiding Marble World. read more

I did not make a purchase with Marble World soley based on the customer service. This review is strictly based on service I received. I am remodeling my entire house and was referred to Marble World. I needed to purchase scraps for a shower bench. When I called Mike answered and I told him who referred me and my current project needs. He said that they aren't open to the public because of the pandemic (okay that's fair I get it). But in a rude tone he went on to say that they are accommodating contractors and their clients and I am not one of them. My jaw literally dropped. He went on to tell me that any fabricator had material but I could look outside their shop and call them if I find anything and he could give me more information. My take from his words and tone was that he didn't want my business and was annoyed that I called him and not another business. Am I a current client, no. Was I a potential client, yes. I was willing to pay for the scrap material for my project. On top of it, I am remodeling my entire house and have other larger projects that I could have used them for. But, I will not use Marble World based on my experience. I also know several other people that are also remodeling their house. I will definitely tell them not to use Marble World. read more

After reading the negative reviews I felt compelled to write this one. I was looking for a quartz countertop and called Marble World and talked to Mike. I was immediately impressed with his honesty and helpfulness. He talked with me without rushing, gave me advice on quartz and directed me to another business that he thought would serve me better. I may be a pescatarian but that didn't keep Marble World from saving my bacon. I was in the process of a bathroom redo when we hit a snag.the vanity that I purchased from Home Depot came with a cracked backsplash and after much back and forth there was no way the manufacturer could send a replacement, so I was left with a credit form HD and no backsplash. I called my friends at North Coast Tile and Stone but they couldn't help me but, in a way, they did. They told me to call Marble World. The guy who owns it was super helpful and invited me to come by and look at some off cuts and remnants that he said he could fabricate for a price that met my budget. I stopped by a few days later and he sent me home with a sample but it was too dark. I came back a few days later and found a perfect match. They finished it beautifully in 4 days and all is well. They are great problem solvers and are responsive to the customer needs. read more

About ten years ago, we spoke with Mike of Marble World in Santa Rosa and had them install granite for our kitchen counters and around the fireplace. We were very pleased with the look and workmanship. Five stars for that! We are now planning a master bath remodel for our new house, and we returned to Marble World about a month ago, and purchased some stone for a bathroom vanity top from Jermaine. He wrote my name on the edge of the stone and we left. On May 3, we visited Emser Tile (great place!) and picked out some tile to be used for the shower in the new bathroom. We then visited Marble World to make sure our tile selection matched up well with the stone. It turned out that the piece we had already bought had been sold to someone else! Another worker had previously sold the stone but neglected to mark it! After Jermaine was aware of this, I would have expected to be contacted immediately. We were not! I have no idea as to what could have been going through his mind. Perhaps he thought we might never return and he could just keep the money. After some back and forth, Jermaine made some lame excuse about losing our number. If he would have simply googled my name (which was written on the stone) he could have easily tracked me down. We were somewhat pissed off, but then Jermaine overreacted and got really insulting. I suppose we expected serious apologies, accompanied by some generous offer, but received neither, though we did get our money back. Fortunately we visited the place prior to purchasing tile, receiving our constructed vanity, and scheduling the contractor! The incompetence and rudeness were both appalling. We will never give any future business to Marble World. read more

What a great fun experience we had with "Marble Mike" : ) of Marble World. From our first meeting, we knew this was our guy, and we had shopped, and shopped. Should have went there first. Mike was very helpful when he came out to our house with many suggestions, and did not let us make any novice mistakes. Always very respectful of our opinions and working them in with his years of experience. We had a quote from a granite "overlay" company at first to save a few bucks, but in the end the best quality Granite and installation was less $ and far better finish results. The image is not completed as we need to do our part with wall finishing, but as you can see, the Granite work was wonderful. I do not want to leave out Danny the installer, as he was equally as helpful and even more great ideas. I would trust Mike and Danny with any Granite or Marble projects. They haven't heard he last from us! read more

Marble World is hard to find and could just as easily be named Granite World because they do it all. We had these guys do a large kitchen with counter tops, island, full backsplashes and a raised bar counter. The owner is Mike Ward. He's honest to a fault: * What he said the project would cost is what we paid; there were no last minute surprises common with some other fabricators. * We chose a very nice granite from another yard priced at $35 per sq. ft. Mike asked what it was, recognized the name, and pointed out that he had the same material on his lot for $15 per sq. ft. We checked it out and, sure enough, after washing it off, the slabs were the same as the $35 material. Savings: $2000. * We paid for the sq. ft. of the counter tops instead of paying for the square footage of the 3 slabs we needed. This saved us from paying for granite that would be discarded as scrap. * Though we needed 3 slabs worth of raw material, Mike used material from 4 1/2 slabs in order to get the prettiest sections. The bar counter is an L shaped section nearly 15' in length. It took some careful layout to keep that as 1 piece. Mike is also very good with the esthetics. He visited the construction site to assess how to obtain the best effects. Because the new cabinets are European style with blackout framing, he pointed out that there was no need to have a double-thick edging; single thick slabs would work out very well instead. This is NOT the Sonoma County esthetic for granite but we felt it provided cleaner lines. So we went with it and are exceptionally pleased with the outcome. The counters are beautiful and their installation superb. Mike's fabricators have been cutting and installing rock for a lot of years. Mike says they can do anything. We didn't push that claim hard but we did throw them a few fabrication curves that they pulled off beautifully (hint: have them bevel the opening for under mounted sinks... much nicer and elegant than standard waterfall edges). We felt we got a good, honest price and that the job was executed by exceptionally experienced crew. We're very pleased. The only warning I'd offer is to expect that Mike will talk your ear off. He has an odd conversational style. Get past it and take the time to listen to what he's saying even when it sounds like he's babbling. It's worth understanding because he's conveying 10 or 100 times the information you'll get from any other granite or marble fabricator. Just listen to him and take what he says at face value. You won't go wrong. read more

Mike is the best and knows the business thoroughly. He is able to listen and can make suggestions of how to accomplish things in the "best way" to look really sharp and save you unnecessary cost in material and labor. One bathroom we had him do required a deckled edge hand-broken in a gentle curve for the vanity top. Mission accomplished. We are a design business specializing in custom and unique solutions and I came to Mike with a coffee table design that needed a 42" square with a center cut out of 12"x16". His guys did it perfectly and my client was thrilled. He took the time to scout around and located a just right piece. Charged me for only the part of the whole slab he used for my project which left him enough useful square footage to be useful with another customer. Smart guy and it's not necessary to know everything when you walk in because he's a real pro and can guide the process. His workers are very good, they do it all, and he's kept them working all through the tough economic times. Installation is immaculate and done on schedule. Don't hesitate! read more

Just had Marble World install a granite surround on my fireplace and could not be happier. The installers are first rate, know what to do and keep a clean work area. The cutting and matching of grain was excellent. An added bonus on smaller jobs is Mike charges by the square feet used so you don't need to buy a whole slab if you don't need it.
