I contacted Ceramic Tile Center in a panic to find a substitute tile for our bathroom remodel. (Our chosen tile from another source had been damaged in a truck accident, and would delay the project significantly to re-order.) After a little talk on the phone, I was given an appt the next morning with Annika. When I arrived, she was already prepared with photos of my previous tile, and had ideas on what could be a good replacement. We worked together to finalize a suitable selection, made the order, and had the new tiles ready for pick-up in three days. The tiles we chose were very reasonably priced, everyone was very friendly and professional. I am very satistifed with their service, and the outcome in our new beautiful bathroom. I had one day to pick materials for 2 bathrooms and had no idea where to begin and felt very overwhelmed when walking into the Ceramic Tile Center. Their onsite designer Annika immediately assured me that she would take care of me and within an hour she helped me select materials for both bathrooms that suited my style and were absolutely gorgeous. What an amazing experience we had with this store. We were weary with indecision and exhausted from visiting many slab yards, when we received a last minute referral to go see the Taj Mahal Quartzite at CTC. Not only did we love the selection but we were lucky enough to meet Cyndi who spent the next three hours helping us with all our tile selections for the kitchen and bath. What a blessing!!! She responded with our quotes and availability very quickly and within a matter of a few days we've wrapped up all our purchases. I wish I could give Cyndi and CTC even more stars!! Some done quite nicely, I'd sure like to have the double width display shower stall in my house! Lots of inventory, styles & price levels. Smart advice given. this is a long overdue review. When renovating our kitchen a few months ago, I went to several tile stores in the Santa Rosa area, private as well as the big box stores. I ended up getting all my tile from this store. They had a wonderful selection, beautifully displayed too. And mostly because I received amazing service and help from Mary Day. I am one who has a hard time with colors and decisions of this sort. She spent a lot of time helping me pick up the best tiles to go with my cabinet and paint colors - she was a tremendous help! I did a ton of "looking" for a supplier of cabinets, counter top, backsplash and flooring for my kitchen remodel: Home Depot, discount shops, contractors and online. What sold me was a visit to the Cleveland store to see the amazing selection of tiles and bathroom fixtures. Walking through the store and seeing such quality fixtures made my heart pound and my eyes bulge. As other reviews note - Christiane at that store has an ear for listening to what the customer wants and an eye for making it happen with the selections. I told her I wanted to remodel my bathroom which is a difficult space and I saw her face light up to the challenge - "I want to design this!!" - it said. I thought, "Wow! Here is a designer with passion to match her artistic eye!" Christiane sent me to the store on Santa Rosa Ave to visit Cassandra - every bit as competent and helpful as Christiane but an expert on cabinets. I had to wait a long time to get her attention as I wanted a price around Thanksgiving - the time when these places are quite busy - but it was worth the wait. Cassandra helped Sofie and I select some very nice cabinets: Waypoint. She and an associate drove an hour to my place to verify my measurements, drew up a plan and gave me a quote. Cabinets took about 3 weeks to build and deliver. They delivered all to my place, carried them in and were careful about my floor, laying down sheets of material designed to protect the floor. I did the demolition of my old cabinets and hired a finish carpenter to install the new cabinets - I did the Neandertal work of taking off the doors, removal of shelves and such to prep the new cabinets for install while my professional focused all her time on the details of keeping the install of the cabinets perfectly level on my uneven floor. We found that one of Cassandra's measurements was off by 6" so that one row of base cabinets would not fit. Cassandra reviewed her documents, saw the error, rush ordered me a bigger cabinet and had it delivered to me at no charge. I should have double checked the drawings - and you should check yours too. A rookie mistake! :-) By all rights I should have paid for the cabinet because I signed off on the drawings. read more

When we needed to remodel our kitchen, we went to Ceramic Tile Center and we are glad we did! We first met with Lauren, she helped us pick our colors, styles and material. She has a real knack for color combinations! We were then referred to Kristen in their cabinet department. Kristen went above and beyond to help us get the exact look we wanted. From the beginning of our project to the end, she was professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of cabinets and styles. She also recommended an excellent installer! I am going to have to "break ranks" on this store. The selection is good, not great. The flow of the store is confusing and disjointed. To make things worse, the customer service here is VERY LACKING. I have been in this store several times, and the common thread is: "dont acknowledge anyone who might be waiting for help".... I was in the store yesterday, looking looking looking while I was waiting for someone to get freed up. 45 minutes later I asked the woman behind the counter if she could help me. She said " I'm busy with a customer and have another after that"....knowing this place it could take forever. This was her chance to maybe check if anyone could help me out....but nope. I was very happy working with Daniel at CTC. I explained to Daniel what I was looking for - appearance and budgetwise - and he walked me through multiple options. He was also very patient as my girlfriend and I had to re-evaluate options which led to some delays. I particularly appreciate that he obtained photos of individual lots and confirmed availability for me. All logistics issues (delivery, supply to my tile installer) went perfectly and the project was actually under the budget I had originally envisioned. I can't say enough about the customer service I received from Gina at Ceramic Tile Center. I'm one of those "can't make up my mind/so confused" type of customers. Gina was the most patient and helpful sales person ever. I'd been to quite a few tile stores and each time someone with little to no knowledge about the products in the store would greet me with the standard "let me know what I can do to help" greeting, but then not be able to provide any help at all. Gina has a wealth of knowledge and it's obvious that she is truly passionate about the design process and the products in the store. She didn't get frustrated for one single minute when I asked question after question about the different products. She walked me around the store and pointed out differences in products and styles and ever so willingly ordered me samples of new tile that had just been installed in the store. She spent an endless amount of time with me and never once made me feel rushed. Ceramic Tile Center is very lucky to have someone like her working for them. We just completed installing new countertops and backsplash in our kitchen. We used the Ceramic Tile Center because a friend recommended them, and I'm glad he did. The showroom has a wide variety of tiles and stones. We worked with Meghan, who was able to understand what we were looking for and point us in the right direction. We narrowed it down to a tile we liked, and she found a couple variations to make sure we were hitting the look (and price) we wanted. Her quote was done quickly and was clear to read. One tile was on back order, and she was able to suggest a good alternative that wouldn't upset our timeline. Furthermore, she coordinated with our install team, so we didn't have to. While I am comfortable managing small projects like this, it felt so good just to leave it in Meghan's hands. When we retile our shower, we'll definitely go back to the Ceramic Tile Center (and Meghan)! read more

After major problems with a different outfit, we wound up going to CTC and have been more than satisfied. CTC offers a huge selection of stone counter tops and every sort of ceramic or glass tile and tile-like products (e.g. pebbles), with first-rate design assistance. They are not nearly as "hard-sell" nor as expensive as certain competitors, although most of their materials are rather high end (e.g. Macintyre). Tyler, the owner's son, went way out of his way to help us find kitchen counter tops (even bringing a few slabs up from the LA area at no added expense to us), then directed us to a terrific fabricator (Ludovic) for trimming and installation. When a pitting problem quickly developed on one surface, CTC made a commendable effort to figure out the source of a pitting problem that rapidly developed on one surface (it turned out to be the high marble content of the "granite," which was harmed by drops of acidic liquids like red wine and lemon juice), and then at their own considerable expense hired an expert re-finisher to repair the defects. On a recent small, do-it-myself tiling job, designer Mary was very helpful in providing suggestions on which tile to use and advice on how to execute a complex pattern and the proper substrate. Only downsides here are location on an overly crowded street and occasionally extended waits for help when CTC gets crowded. On a zero-ten scale, I'd give them a nine. read more

I recently completed a large tile purchase from CTC and am very please with their selection and service. When you walk through the store you find room after room of displays. Just when you think you've seen it all, you walk through doors to a warehouse-like area with 100s more samples to see. One of their designers, Peter, helped us with our planning. I can't imagine having done this without him. I am DIY enthusiast and I've taken on this large project (1700 square feet) myself. In addition to helping us choose the tile, which we love, Peter has offered installation tips like the size of the grout line and staggering the seams that I might not have considered. The store doesn't deliver so I decided to rent a lift gate truck and pallet jack to bring the load home. When I told Peter my plans he suggested that they re-pallet the load so that each one didn't weigh so much. I had never used a pallet jack before and Peter's suggestion was crucial to my ability to unload the tile. I was barely able to manage it with the lighter pallets. If they had been at their original weight, I don't know what I would have done to get them off the truck. read more

During the process of remodeling our master bath and our kitchen, I have made numerous trips to the CTC.  With the first project, I had visited lots of other stores first, but I never saw anything that inspired me until I visited the CTC.   They have a wonderful variety of tile and great customer service, so when our second project came around, I didn't even look anywhere else.  I have had positive experiences with every staff member I have dealt with, but I have to give special kudos to Brenda, whom I have worked with the most.  She listens carefully to see what style and price range you're going for, and then makes great suggestions.  My emails and calls are always answered promptly, and orders come in a timely manner.  I highly recommend this place! read more

We went to Ceramic Tile Center in Santa Rosa after receiving a recommendation, and we were so glad we did! Our kitchen remodel project - like any, required many decisions about design, colors, materials, textures and many more. A daunting task to say the least - but on our first trip to CTC, we met Megan J. who was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. We actually found our dream quartz counter-top material fairly quickly. Unfortunately, it was in the remnants pile because it had been discontinued and there was not enough for our project. No worries, Megan set out to scour the country to find more, and she did! Not only that, but she got a great price on the material, recommended a great installer for the counter-top, and helped us design and select our back-splash material. Excellent tile and granite store in Santa Rosa. No nonsense plenty of staff and great selection at a variety of prices. They have large uncut slabs stacked up outside. None of the slabs appear to be radioactive. There is a wide variety of finishes and patterns and there are available immediately for pick up. I have some work that I need done and tried at least 4 times to get in contact. Left messages, emailed and spoke to someone but no one every gets back to me. With the knowledgeable guidance of Mary Day I was able to select tiles for 4 bathrooms in a very short time. Sorry CTC I don't normally do this but....My husband and I came into your store at the recommendation of our contractors. We waited at least 10 mins before we were even acknowledged. Once someone decided they had time to help us we showed them what we were looking for and were told we would receive an estimate the next day. When we did not I called and they were unable to find our name in their system. I was asked to leave my name and # and he would try to find out who was working on it. A couple hours later the young lady called me and said she was working on the estimate and would email it to me that night. It has been over a week and we have still not received anything. Which is fine because we went some where else and already ordered and received our tile in the time we were ignored by CTC. As I said in my first sentence I don't normally write bad reviews as I feel that they could be misleading. Just because this happened to us does not mean it would happen to everyone. I was just very disappointed in the customer service of your establishment. Hopefully it was a 1 time thing. read more

WORTH THE WAIT AND DRIVE! We live in Southern Marin. Yes we LOVE CTC and drive all the way from Southern Marin and will do it again for our next project. Also, I won't allow my contractor to work with anyone but Mary. Mary Day at CTC is the most creative and caring designer. I love this tile place because (in addition to the the wonderful materials) the people are so great! I live in Southern Marin and I recommend CTC for anyone wanting to work with great designers. My project was a new bathroom and laundry room. I did all the preliminary research at CTCI before I brought my husband (who does not like shopping)back 3 days later so we could place the order. Everything was a hit with him! Besides being fun, Mary actually understood the concept of a budget. She showed us exactly what we wanted, offering practical and helpful advice in easy to understand language. She showed us how we could have a nook and shelf without bursting our hopes and budget. And she has a great sense of humor. She showed us things even the fancy contractor didn't know. I can't thank Mary Day and Scott Finch and all the people at CTC enough. When we have money for another remodel, I look forward to working with Mary from the beginning of the project. For our new bathroom, she turned a really ordinary new bathroom into something very special that we love and people admire. Believe me when I say it's worth the drive. We are so grateful to Lauren, Brenda and Maddy for all the help they gave us in thinking through the colors, tiles, grout color, etc. etc. for our kitchen and bathroom remodels in our humble little cottage. They were the best thought partners we've found (after visiting many tile and kitchen&bath stores) in thinking through the myriad options, color schemes, choices etc., that can be so overwhelming. We are not doing this ourselves, so to speak, but we don't have a designer, just a contractor who is a great implementer but not a designer....
