The kids wanted cookies...Okay, no they didn't. This time it was definitely me. Of course, nobody turned down the suggestion, so off to Marble Slab/Great American Cookies we went. The moment we walked in, everyone immediately made a beeline for the cookie display. I grabbed my personal favorite the Domino cookie, and we added a birthday cake cookie to the lineup as well. I did have one straggler wander over to the ice cream side, and I have to say, the service was quick and fun to watch. The cookies-and-cream ice cream had an excellent cookie-to-ice-cream ratio, which is an important detail if you ask me. The store was bright, clean, and the staff were kind and welcoming throughout our visit. Maybe next time we'll upgrade to a cookie cake and find another reason to celebrate summer. If I could give zero stars, I would. $41 for 3 kids and 3 small cups of ice cream--each one barely two to three tablespoons. That's not an exaggeration, it's a fact. A kids scoop is $6? Completely absurd. When she was handing these "scoops" to my family I was like, "are you serious?" And they just smirked. Weird. I just wanted to pay and get out. But then I was blindsided by the cost. Like, WHAT????? $40 for THIS? To make it worse, they prompt you for a 15% minimum tip at checkout--for what? Handing over a scoop the size of a tablespoon? The audacity is unreal. The photo I'm attaching shows exactly what we were handed--untouched. That sad little scoop cost me six bucks. No wonder the place is always empty. I'd drive down 99 to the marble slab on spring stuebner. Same owner. Different atmosphere. There's high school kids working at this location that have zero business skills or sense and the store manager, LaGuardia, has zero respect for customers. She should work in a detention center or maybe anywhere that's not customer facing. I recently met the owner at the other location and I don't think he'd accept their blatant refusal to allow a mother and her toddlers to sit inside while they finish their HALF scoop of ice cream. Instead, the manager demanded we get up out of our chairs and stand in the pouring rain nearly an hour before the store closes. LaGuardia said the store is To-Go only, an hour before they close. Post a sign. Not a good experience with young children. Update: I waited in the parking lot to let my children eat their ice cream and finish this review and as we pulled out, the young blonde boy working inside waved us on and cackled with the others. I honked and waved and as we pulled out of the parking lot, a vehicle that I presume was the same vehicle parked in front of the store next to us, followed us to the entrance of our neighborhood and turned around just as we pulled in. One thing I never understand is if you know all your business is made with being in the front, then why at 7:40 on a Sunday night is 4 of the 5 employees in the back cleaning up like a pre close. You close at 9 that's when you clean up if there's a lobby full of customers holding melting cups and cones. O and one went on some sort of a break. Poor kid alone up there trying to handle it all. It makes me sad that the two v young girls, neither could do basic math, seemed lost and I think they think I might have cheated them out of about .40. If I could reach a mgr I'd say- help them! My $3.99 kids cone plus tax -$4.32. I paid $10.35 and said oh you can just give me bills back and keep the pennies (cash - what was I thinking?!) She entered amount I paid, multiple times and kept voiding it and throwing the paper away, clearly frustrated but pleasant, (not in anyway rude to me) and finally the other young girl came to help. They both tried to fix but had entered $10.00 as my payment. Now they were stuck. They just shrugged and first young girl began counting out change in cash but having trouble adding the change in her hand. I told her "sweetie you only owe me $6...just keep the few cents extra - nothing for you to count. She stared at me totally lost. The other girl said uhhh the screen says $5.68. Employees didnot looked trained. I ordered the large bowl which come with 4 scoops . I only got 3 scoops and they asked which mix in I would like, and they kept forgetting it for 3 times. The service is terrible. This place lacks management and the young girls that work there are so lazy they are doing non-important task to avoid helping the store full of customers. Very terrible location. A few days ago, I got curbside. I ordered over the phone, someone came outside took my card paid for it, brought out my cookies and I was done. I went by today and all of a sudden they say they can't do curbside and sorry the associates aren't supposed to be doing that. I'm not trying to be that one customer who makes a big deal out of something that's very small, but not everybody can go inside places and risk their health. I have people at home who are more susceptible to COVID-19 because they have underlying conditions, and I'm not going to risk my family's lives getting out of my car for some cookies. This is the Great American Cookies & Marble Slab Creamery. My wife ordered a cookie cake and went next door to the grocery store. When she realized she could get a cookie cake for a third the price at the grocery she went back to cancel her cookie cake order right away. The manager Brittany came to do the refund and informed my wife they could not refund the tip. This is just plain poor customer service. If you order a crane from them don't tip until you pick up the item in case you need to cancel. Better yet go to the nearby grocery store and get one for a third the cost and no tip required. read more

This location has no customer service. Wife bought a large cookie with some writing for a kids party that night. Dropped something on it and messed up one letter, took it back to the store to ask them to fix it within a couple hours of picking it up, and they said store policy is once it leaves they can't fix it at all. Said I would pay to fix it, and again said store policy from the owners is that they will not fix once it leaves. This is a great example of a good product ruined by ignorant management, will never go back to this location again. read more

DO NOT ORDER A CAKE FROM HERE. The employees were ruthlessly disrespectful when I went to pick up a PREPAID for cake. The website says this establishment is open until 10PM, so naturally I went to pick up a birthday cake at 9PM. I called in advance saying I would be there in 2 minutes time to pick up the cake and a female employee over the phone responded "sounds good". Upon arrival, a young male employee declined us at the door and would not let us in the establishment to pick up our cake due to the store being "closed" at 9:01PM. Two employees were unnecessarily rude and would not simply hand us the cake. I understand that businesses have the right to require patrons to wear a mask even though the governor has removed the mandate. However, when I walk into a business where the person checking out, i.e. has already been served, is not wearing a mask and I am told to leave and that they will not serve me because I don't have one that is a problem. Beautiful store. Kind workers, always clean when I go in. The employees are always helpful when I have questions and if they don't know, they don't hesitate to find somebody who does. They only accept marble slab rewards, which isn't a problem for me. The cakes are BEAUTIFUL. I recommend this place wayyy over anything you would find in a mall. read more
