We needed porcelain counter tops installed for our kitchen. We initially spoke with Penny for our requirements/design. We spoke with Milo who provided specific requirements that are needed for porcelain to prevent it from cracking in the future. (double plywood or metal strips) Penny and Milo were the only people who brought this up when we were getting estimates. This is one of the main reasons we went with them. Milo even spoke directly with our contractor in order to make sure everything is correct. Abraham did the measurements for the countertops. He was very detailed and pointed out certain things that needed to be fixed with the cabinets in order for things to look good in the end. He was patient and even came back a second time when the cabinets were fixed. We are very grateful he pointed out cabinet issues to make sure the end result would be great. They took care of getting the porcelain we ordered from Bedrosian to their location. Then we went to their store in order to look at our slabs and detail out how everything should look. Penny and a fabricator were patient and helped get us a better idea of which cuts and veins will go where. They taped everything up and we were ready to go. The installation was done very quickly mainly in one day. They came back a second day to cut the sink holes and minor adjustments. You might be greeted by "Bella" the boxer upon entering, so come prepared to meet the friendliest dog - EVER! =D I guess they treated us no different than potential clients because they educated us on everything we needed to know when it came to picking out certain stone surfaces for your home remodel projects. They showed us their stone surfaces, how they "shaded" different slabs to maintain a cohesive and uniform look, their machinery they cut it with, delivery system, etc... These guys work w/ natural stone as well as artificial stones like Caesarstone, Silestone, and Zodiac to name a few... and if you do not find what you are looking for, they are more than happy to suggest other stone supply houses to help you find what you need. The only thing I can find wrong with this place is the location - because it's quite easy to pass up by accident when looking for it. That's when GPS is your best friend... you'll see a small sign on a fence - turn left into it from Industrial [if coming from 880 exiting Gish Rd.] and drive straight down the dirt driveway to the building in the back. When we were ready, he gave us really valuable advice on our options and decisions to encase a soaking tub. He suggested a siding to the stone that makes it all so much more beautiful. Finally getting around to writing this review. Brian and his crew did an amazing job fabricating and installing our master bathroom vanity countertop and fireplace using large format, imported, high-end porcelain tile in our SF home (yes, I had to go all the way to San Jose to find someone that could do this!). I had a very difficult time finding a vendor that had the expertise to install this type of porcelain because 1) each tile measured 5 feet x 10 feet! and 2) the tile was thinner than normal. Most vendors lack the experience working with this type of large format tile (most consider 4 feet max as large format). The crew at Marble And Stone Solutions are very talented and professional. I would recommend them without reservation. read more

Milo is a master fabricator. Nicest guy, helped us get the right slabs for our kitchen and the seeming was flawless. He worked to our schedule and installation went very smooth. I see other people complained about losing granite but they had a few pieces of ours that we came back later and had fabricated for a different project. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the lack of overhang on the counter tops. That was as much my fault as theirs for not talking about it before the fabrication and installation took place. They did a great job, I just should have confirmed how much overhang there would be. I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

So here we are 4 years later and still fighting with Marble and Stone Solutions over the lien they filed on our property that was left there unlawfully for 3 years and 9 months beyond its expiration date..... I had to get an attorney to contact them and lay out the steps we would be following in court if they didn't file an immediate removal / release of the lien with the county recorder... even a week to 10 days later there was no action, it too yet another letter telling him that I was moving forward with the filing of the suit to punish them for the whole lien business but I was willing to give them til the end of the week to get the release filed. On Friday (the last day) I got an email from Brian that advised me the document number and that the lien release had been filed. I am sad that this all turned out this way because the work that they finally delivered can only be described then or now as excellent. The final product is excellent, the installation finally ended up being excellent and this could so easily have been a 5 star review... I wish I knew why this happened this way, was it them, was it our contractor I don't think I will ever know. can I recommend them well, I would conditionally give them an excellent thumbs up for quality, installation and on site service.... and based on Brian's concession to releasing the improper lien I wanted to reiterate the quality of the workmanship and installation and to say one more time that we are happy with the product and installation. If you go to Marble and Stone Solutions, even if you have a contractor, deal directly with them and get everything in writing... I think if you have Penny and Brian write everything down you wont have this kind of issue, much of the conversation or commitments in these construction (contractor/subcontractor) deals get lost in translation by the time they get to the homeowner and then there are hard feelings at both ends and the contractor slides away clean leaving the sub and the homeowner to do battle on their own. I would give Brian a second chance but only if I dealt directly with him and his team, never again thru a third party / contractor. read more

We had a Ceaserstone counter top for our kitchen made by them and the island was quite tricky. They had a very good quote and did an excellent job. We got 4 quotes by sending PDF diagrams and only one was slightly better. We were very nervous about the potential damage that could occur to our cabinets and explained our concerns clearly beforehand. They assured us they were used to this and it was true. Also for seams they did an excellent job and they are almost impossible to see. On the island corners for example there are 4 pieces of stones joined together and it is impossible to see the seam unless you put you eyes right on it. They were a little late for the fabrication but for us it was more important to get this done correctly. For comparison we had another shop do the bathrooms counters (using ceasarstone as well) and we can see all the seams and it is not cut or assembled as well. It is okay for simple bathroom cuts but would have been a nightmare for the kitchen. read more

Oh wow, I didn't realize this before, but it's amazing how much joy a wonderful contracting crew can bring into one's life (and the opposite could happen as well as we also learned). Admist of a home remodeling project, I've dealt with a few subcontractors. While most are pleasant, the crew at MS are simply one of a kind. I mostly interacted with Milo, but have also worked with Brian and Arnold at the office, as well as the two young guys who actually did the installation at the house. This is the most no-fuss business I've every encountered. The estimate is clear, the promises are kept, and every appointment is on time. and the quality of the work? There is only one word to describe it -- perfect! I don't question that the guys at the forefront genuinely want to do good and want to run a good business, but I was also impressed with the two hired young "kids" ('cuz I'm feeling old), who carried out the job the way only a perfectionist would do. I watched (while walking by the kitchen occasionally) how they make the finest adjustment to make the seam align right, and mix the caulking for individual sections to best match colors along a long wall. I have no doubt that many fabricators can do a wonderful job (and many don't), but everyone from MS is just pleasant to be around. Well, I'll be seeing more of them since we'll have three more tops (smaller) to install, but I'm just so excited about having found them (thanks to Harrell Remodeling) that I had the urge to write a review! (Yeah, as you can see, I'm not a frequent reviewer because I normally don't have strong feelings about stuff one way or another. I'm a boring person, I guess. :p) read more

Just had a bunch of home inspectors looking at my bathroom in connection with VERY BAD job gen contractor (Aristocrat) did. They all admired the stone work! Said it would be a pity if we have to take it out to fix this other guy defective work. To see all the inspectors make a beeline to the stone and praise the perfect connections, and then hear that inspector went out of his way to praise Milo's stone work to lawyers - that was something. :) We got Milo as subcontractor, so I can't say anything definite about his pricing. Although by the look of it he is keeping gen contractor's price competitive. Pros: - Quality constantly exceeded our expectations. I could not imaging those bevel connections could look like the whole stone! - Works pretty fast; - Went with us to help us choose right slabs; - Help me out to get his discount on the tile from the wholesalers and even helped out with delivery!. Very sweet! The only snug: some things were getting lost in translation, so we got some misunderstandings, but so far worked everything out. Milo, thank you! P.S. I just bought counter top material from them and they were very easy to deal with. We already knew what we were looking for. Before I contacted them, I had a very difficult time purchasing some Silestone leather material from a variety of other shops. They go the material right away and did it without a lot of drama. MSS lost my 1/2 slab of granite! I bought a full slab, enough for two bathroom countertops. Give credit where credit is due-they did a nice job finishing and installing the first one. When i returned, several months later, to have the second slab fabricated, they couldn't find it. I have to go out and look for remnants or buy another full slab and only use half. The slab we initially purchased was intended to keep the same decorative scheme in both bathrooms. It was a unique piece that we paid a premium price for. Now we're starting over with the design because the countertop drives the design for the tile, paint, etc. What a pain. Brian offerred 10% off of the fabrication but why would i have MSS do the second one when they've been irresponsible? read more

We recently had our kitchen completed with granite counter tops installed perfectly by Marble and Stone Solutions. The workmanship was excellent. Everything was done in a timely manner. In fact, it was quicker then we expected. Milo was in charge he first surveyed the job and promised it would turn out beautifully. We wanted to keep our back splash tile. He assured us that in order to do that without damaging it he would remove the current tile countertop edges and go over it with granite. Normally they remove the counter top tile and lay plywood but this method had been done before and was perfectly solid. Of course he was right because it all looks amazing. He and his workers came out to measure, then cut out the edges. They then measured for the template. About only a week later they installed the granite and stayed all day into early evening to complete the job. They did the actual cut-out for the cooktop and sink at our home so as to assure accuracy. Milo was on site to check on the work constantly and wanted to make sure we were happy. I highly recommend Milo and all of his expert workers. They kept everything clean and were very considerate. Also, when I originally spoke to Penny in the office to arrange for an estimate meeting she was personable and very informative. I knew this was the beginning of a great start with this company. Their prices were very reasonable and it all only took about two weeks. read more

Penny was a HUGE help for me with our fireplace remodel. We had selected a slab from Bedrosians, which ended up being sold to another customer. Penny went out of her way to help me find another slab from another location, which also turned out to be less expensive. I didn't have time to go see the template, so we talked on the phone and she helped me select the right portions. Then, I was hoping to get the project done before the holidays, and she pushed it through ahead of our deadline. The fabricators installed it ahead of my deadline, and it looks wonderful. We had heard some real horror stories about stone fabricators. Marble and Stone Solutions was recommended to us by two different sources. We met with Penny and it was a perfect connection. We had found a granite slab that we both liked- she met us there to look it over for fissures or other problems. It was deemed ok. The supplier set the slab aside for us along with the second slab 'in case we needed it'. Always good to use a fabricator who has a good working relationship with the supplier. We were doing the remodel ourselves. When they came out to template for the counter tops we still needed to fix a couple of things. With good guidance we were able to make the cabinets perfect! After templating we went to their site to view the templates on the actual slab- we were very impressed with the knowledge of Penny and Milo. They were able to fit our entire template onto the one slab. But the tops for the bar would not fit. Penny helped us to find a piece in their 'boneyard' that would coordinate- beautifully- with our counters. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Always remember- You get what you pay for. read more

Phenomenal Job!! The guys came out to our property to measure the precise dimensions. My kitchen plywood and counters were not exactly level and they strongly suggested I take care of that first (which I did). The came again to measure (no charge), then ordered the slab on my behalf. They passed on the contractor discount to us and we saved some more money. When the came for installation, they had to lift a 48"*117" rock up the stairs to the second floor. The seems are perfect and the half round peninsula looks super sharp. They drilled the holes for the faucets and did the cut out for the cooktop. Would recommend them at any time. read more

I worked with Brian and Milo. Excellent experience. They stored our granite slabs for months until we were ready. No charge. We had only two slabs and a large area to cover. Milo did a great job in making sure the granite flowed with only a few seams. It was a challenge. Looks great. Later, I found a chip in the granite on the pencil edge. The contractor or someone chipped the granite, NOT Marble & Stone Solutions. Milo sent Edgar out to our house to fix the chip. He did such a good job I can not see the repair. All at no charge! I worked with Milo personally to select granite for a kitchen, mud room, and 3 bathrooms. At all times, Milo was cheerful, likable, KNOWLEDGEABLE, available, professional and wonderful. He would travel with me to see the granite, inspect the slabs and choose the ones that would match closest at the seams. The templating process was also a collaborative process. Milo cares deeply about the quality of his finished product. He made exellent recommendations for the edge treatment, placement of templates and selection of the granite.
