I had been a customer of Maranatha Heating and Cooling for nearly 20 years. During that time, Mark provided service for both my home and several family members' homes. Because of that long-standing relationship, my recent experience has been particularly disappointing.
In May 2022, my 18-year-old A/C unit stopped cooling properly. Mark added refrigerant and recommended replacement. I agreed, and in June 2022 a new system was installed for approximately $9,300. Unfortunately, within less than a year, the new unit required additional refrigerant. Over the next two years, the system repeatedly lost refrigerant, requiring multiple service calls and recharges.
In February 2024, after continued issues, Mark advised me to contact another company, (I will call them Company X), for leak detection. I did, and the other company identified a leaking indoor coil, which was subsequently replaced by Maranatha in March 2024.
Now, just over two years later, in July 2026, the same unit began experiencing problems again. Company X diagnosed another leaking indoor coil and added four pounds of refrigerant. When I contacted Mark to discuss assistance with the repair, given the recurring nature of the issue, I was told the warranty had expired and that I should have Company X complete the repairs.
What concerns me most is that this system has experienced refrigerant-related issues almost from the beginning, yet I am now facing more than $3,000 in additional repair costs on a unit that is only four years old. While I understand warranties have limitations and equipment can fail, I expected more support and accountability after being a loyal customer for two decades.
I am sharing my experience so that others can make informed decisions. Unfortunately, the level of customer service and commitment I once associated with this company no longer reflects my experience. read more
