1-Maplecrest Ford in Mendham, NJ gave a Trade-In Vehicle Affidavit for a 2023 Audi SQ7 when a truck was purchased from them, meaning that Maplecrest bought/paid off the 2023 Audi SQ7 lease. 2- HOWEVER, MAPLECREST FORD NEVER PAID OFF THE 2023 AUDI SQ7 PROPERLY. 3- Audi Financial issued a notification of delinquency on the monthly payment of the car that was "sold" to Maplecrest Ford. This greatly impacted credit rating. -The person who bought the 2023 Audi SQ7 from Maplecrest Ford in Mendham had been driving with an illegal title which seems like an illegal sale. -Maplecrest Ford's reasons for not properly paying off the Audi lease: We changed banks, Audi Financial required an electronic payoff, we sent a check in the regular mail, the check was return, etc. When asked for documentation, Maplecrest could not present it. 4- Owner, Tom Giordano was on vacation; owner Theo Giordano and Emma Giordano were "working from home"; finance manager, Marie Wiggins and my salesman Dan Khalall were "off". 5- Ryan at Audi Financial's third party, Manheim, told Sales Manager, Dave Cozza at Maplecrest Ford, to pay it off. 6- 7 weeks after Maplecrest issued a bad affidavit for Trade-in, Maplecrest was informed this could be a serious offense. They then paid off the Audi lease. 7- To reinstate perfect credit score, Maplecrest is required to submit a Letter of Explanation to Audi Financial. They refused. I've had service done before and was always impressed by how nice they were. Today I received the works oil change, front and back wipers for my Ford Edge. I wanted to make an afternoon appointment to have it done because I am disabled and I cannot drive in the morning. So Pasquale told me to come in this afternoon and they would take care of it for me. Terrible service ! Was some issue with door check after service in Ford Then the door check was completely off So they did inspection and said that we gonna fix that and Ford gonna install you absolutely new door 5 month i was waiting for the new door... When i called them they said that forgot to call me ... Didn't follow up with customer When car was under repair whole week they didn't cover that with another car ( Remember, this issue was about their fault ) During the repair i requested another issue that might be and asked to check that but then i cancelled cuz realize that the car about to be there around 2 weeks more When came to grab the car, checked everything and found that the lock button on the door wasn't move when you trying lock/unlock the door... Told that to service guy and they fixed My point is - they really don't care what you have got and how fast you need that. And after repair probably not checking the entire car cuz i found that somehow washer fluid lvl was completely zero... I was mad about a couple of weeks after... Absolute awful experience. Lifelong owner of Ford vans and purchased several from this dealership. Issue pertains to their service dept. Bought an extended warranty for additional $2,300 with original purchase. Maplecrest charged me on several occasions for repairs that were covered under that warranty. They were unable to fix a minor squeak after 6 attempts. Tried to sell unneeded parts on different times and falsified mileage on 3 invoices. And lastly tried to sell over $2000 of repairs that moment that the warranty expired. Had a face to face meeting with the service dept. director as well as the owner, Tom Giordano, and caught in lie after lie. Contacted Ford corporate to file grievances and informed "each dealership is independently owned and operated" by a call center in the Philippines. Brought my 2016 Ford Explorer for service due to check engine light and rear differential fluid leak. To start, Maplecrest charged 2 separate diagnostic fees totalling $350. One of the recommended repairs was to replace the PTU because it was "starting" to leak. We were quoted $3800 for this repair. Cost aside, Maplecrest Ford already replaced the PTU 2 years earlier. It was under warranty at the time so no cost to fix. Maplecrest failed to mention that they had made this repair and when we asked about it the answer was yeah we did but that part only has a 2 year warranty and we are past that. So sorry not sorry. Despite the fact that it was less than 30 days past the 2 year mark, a 2 year old PTU unit should not be leaking and require replacing. Maplecrest likely did a shotty repair job the first time around and/or replaced the original with a used part. It also takes weeks to get any kind of service appt. Overall a terrible service experience and I would not trust them to do any major repairs. Their prices are also very expensive! I left a message with the General Manager expressing my displeasure with the whole process and not surprising have not heard back. read more

Even after the sale Maplecrest was very helpful. I was back to pick up my license plates after they called and I picked up a couple things from the parts dept. to have on hand. While I was doing that Emma put my plates on, one of the screws didn't fit just right and she took the time to get another one to make it right. A simple thing like that goes a long way. Let me start off by saying that I found their entire staff to be polite and well informed about their area of expertise. This applies to both sales and service (prior experience). The customer area is clean and has a nice selection of vehicles. Now onto my SALES department experience. In one word: OVERPRICED. They are definitely catering to the Mendham resident that does not "shop" for the best deal. They are going to present you with a figure and tell you that this is the "best" deal that anyone can give you. WRONG. I visited Mendham Ford not long after opening (around 10am) during a quiet weekday and was approached by a well spoken and polite sales associate. I was ready to purchase on the spot. I was paying cash for the lease (APP) and have an excellent credit rating. I knew the car I wanted and SIMPLY asked for the best price in the Northeast. I did not need to engage in needless "chit chat" nor take a test drive. All my information was presented to the sales associate on a sheet of paper. THIS TOOK THE SALES ASSOCIATE OUT OF HIS COMFORT ZONE. After politely asking the sales associate (and sales manager) to just present me with the price and not engage me in idle chatter, the price finally arrived. I immediately new the price was way over what I could ultimately find if I spent some time calling dealers in the Northeast. I thanked the dealer for his time and told him that I would be calling him back shortly after I made some calls. After returning home I called a few dealers in a more depressed region of the country and within 30 minutes I negotiated a price that was $1600 dollars LESS than Mendham Ford. Yes 30 minutes! Yes the exact same car! Yes, the out the door price. Everything exactly the same as Mendham Ford. Who was this dealer? Van Bortel Ford. With two short ten (one was 8) minute calls, the salesperson (Matt German) beat Mendham hands down. And YES they would deliver the car to me at the NY/ NJ/ PA border. Yes, the lease price included the NJ tax. There was NO idle chit chat. Just business. After a few emails and one large FedEx package the deal was done and I just saved about $1600 dollars. It took very little effort or time. And now for the rest of the story. In the meantime I emailed Mendham Ford (sales associate, sales manager and manager) and said can you do any better for me? NO, they said. This is the best we can do, that anyone can do. Ok, ready?..... Mr Sales associate I received a price way under your price (I did not tell him exactly how much). His reply? IMPOSSSIBLE, THEY (Van Bortel) ARE DISHONEST, IT CANT BE DONE, NOBODY CAN GIVE YOU A LOWER PRICE, THAT IS NOT A REAL PRICE THEY ARE GIVING YOU, THEY ARE NOT INCLUDING TAXES (yes they were)....and on and on. You have heard all the stories. So the day comes and I receive a contract from Van Bortel. There is my price, just as it was quoted by Matt. HONESTY from Van Bortel. Two weeks later we meet the salesman at the border and he delivers me my Ford Fusion Energi. No bait and switch, no extra fees, no nothing. Just my new car. The exact price as it was negotiated and quoted. Who would you rather deal with? Mendham or Van Bortel ? Did I hear back from Mendham Ford after I told them exactly how much I saved and that they were WRONG about the best price. NO I NEVER HEARD BACK. Embarrassed? I would be. Conclusion: If you are the type of person that needs to be coddled or pampered , sweet talked and walked thru the process of buying a car, then Mendham Ford is for you. But, you will PAY for the privilege. If you don't mind overpaying, go to Mendham Ford (you don't even get the free oil change for life anymore). But, if you are looking to save some money and get the car you want, without any hassle. Try Van Bortel and ask for Matt. Just a side note, I received the same NEGATIVE experience from Family Ford in Netcong. Though in that case they would not even give me a price since I did not want to engage them in idle chatter. Maplecrest Ford in Mendham is amazing! After a horrible experience at a nearby Ford dealership, I was very close to giving up in my car search - but decided to give Maplecrest a try. I'm so happy that I did! My initial experience was over the phone/email with Marla, who sent me True Car certificates for several options of the model I wanted. Not only that, she had them printed and waiting for me at the dealership when I arrived. So helpful! I knew exactly what kind of models that had in their inventory and what price I would get before I even decided to go there. When I arrived at the dealership, I worked with Frank, who was clearly very knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. He talked me through the entire process and gave me quotes for several different financing and leasing scenarios. He took the time to answer my questions and do things in an order that made me feel comfortable, not in the process that "is just how it's done" like I experienced at the other dealership. I came back the next day to sign the papers and pick up the car (the business manager came in early to accommodate my schedule!) Frank sat in the car with me for 20 minutes or so to show me how to work all of the features, set up my phone, settings, etc. and assured me that I could call him at any time with any questions. I did do some research on my own to ensure I was getting the best deal possible, and I assure you, I was. I ended up leasing a gorgeous, brand new, 2016 Ford Fusion that had all the right features and at the right price. I also got a great value for my trade-in. Let me first preface with the fact that I looked into over a dozen dealerships and did my research on the specific models and features desired. I had dealerships attempting to pressure me non-stop to come in to check them out where they would no doubt feel they had some semblance of power over me and the decisions I would make. I had many attempts at baiting me with a low monthly payment where I would suffer in interest or they would be cutting corners in other areas that was against what I had asked. I even had people try to appear as accommodating, offering aftermarket features installed in something that should have been stock with what I asked for and making it seem like a great deal to me while driving the overall cost significantly higher. Then there's Maplecrest. When I first came into contact with them, they were super nice. Not aggressive. Just helpful. I felt like they cared about what I wanted and how I wanted it. When I came into the dealership, I sat down with Charles C. He was the most inviting and welcoming sales consultant that I had ever met. He listened to what I wanted, gave me the help and time I needed to make certain decisions for my best interest, and made the process as painless as possible. I got exactly what I wanted for a reasonable cost. A process that's usually cumbersome turned out to be relatively easy. I didn't even mind driving an hour to get to the location because of the level of receptiveness and attention that was given. If you're in the market to buy a car and want to risk shady dealings and sugarcoated numbers, look elsewhere. If not, look no further than Maplecrest Ford of Mendham. This was the only dealership out of 5 I visited that not only identified and agreed that there was a problem, but also fixed it. The technician patiently listened and we slowly ruled out piece by piece before nailing the issue. I also presented TSB's which they also acknowledged. Timing chain tensioner noise in an F150 that 4 other Ford dealers refused to recognize and made me seem like I was paranoid. it took 24 hours to do what started out as routine service checkup that should have taken less than 1 hour and cost under $50. They called 1 1/2 has later telling me that they recommended 3 add"l minor items taking add'l 1 1/2 has. I agreed. Just before time promised,they called saying mechanic had left due to some emergency and they would call when done. 2 hours later, we called them, still not done due to family emergency but did offer loaner. Finally ready at 10:30 next day. they refused me request for any other explanation or why another mechanic couldn't have finished it. This is not my first time using Maplecrest Ford, I have experienced theirs calling to say additional work needed but this was worst ever! I bought a used Ford from my brother-in-law and was less than impressed with the service department at the dealership he purchased the car from. After reading many reviews I decided to bring my car to Maplecrest to handlle a recall. I cannot say enough POSITIVE things about this service department!! I dealt with three different people there (one person ordered the necessary part, another called me when the part came in to schedule and Jim was the service advisor I dealt with when I bought the car in.) and each one was professional, cheerful and helpful!!! They each called when they said they would call -- not easy to find these days! I was told the service would take about 4 hours and it took just under 4 hours. Additionally, they said in the future if I knew the service was going to be long to call in advance and they would arrange for a loaner car so I didn't have to wait !! By the way-- the facility is not fancy but it was very comfortable, has free Wi-Fi , and is SUPER clean (including the bathrooms) The service advisor explained a few other issues they found while fixing my car but he was not pushy at all and explained them to me and gave me a recommendation as to when they should be fixed. This place is a breath of fresh air! Competent, reliable, cheerful and they seem to be honest too (I hate that feeling of going to get my car serviced and them telling me I need 4 things done that i really don't need!! Not Here! They really seem to take pride in providing good service!!) I think I have just found the best Ford Dealership in New Jersey! read more
