Getting the same order 2x a month for over 4 1/2, years. Suddenly the lo mein changed. I was told I never had gotten vegetables in my chicken lo mein... and if I did it was because someone made a mistake. A review about the owner said she personally trained employees to cook with consistency. How can all the same cooks make the same lo mein for almost 5 years.... Then now they were all wrong. I was in shock because I was treated like I was asking for something that I wasn't entitled to. Treated very poorly.... If they decided not to include vegetables in their recipe, just say it. I wasn't very happy with my meal here. I stopped for a late night dinner. The workers are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is large but old and musty. Seems like it needs a deep clean, new carpet, and some new furniture. I had an order dumplings and Crab Rangoon. The Rangoon was okay but deep friend and the grease tasted over used. The dumplings were also deep friend. I was not expecting that. I'm used to steamed or fried dumplings. I didn't like the fried in old grease. I don't think I would return with other options in town. Service needs improvement. The younger server barely engaged with us (a table of females) but was heavily engaged with the males. First we sat for about 10 mins before we had to get her attention then as we ordered she over talked us. After many "excuse me ma'ams" were ignored we just asked the busman. He was more pleasant and helpful. I wish the owner was here because she is amazing and unfavorable service like this doesn't happen. read more

We like Chinese and this we find to be the best in Great Falls. Food is always hot and tasty and portions are good sized. The hot tea makes it feel all the more like the Chinese restaurants I remember from days past. The service is okay and the food comes out fast. Cleanliness is good. read more

I lived here for 10 years and could not get enough of this place. I no longer live here but when we visit, it is a must. Their combination meals are relatively inexpensive, delicious, and will ensure that you are full and satisfied. One issue that I have heard of is that their fried rice sometimes has a burnt taste. I have never had that experience but it has been said, just FYI. [Personal note: my favorite is the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice.] The staff is always friendly and they love military personnel. They have a party room in the back that can seat more than the usual if you are planning a large gathering. We ate here at Sunday lunch. The people working here were nice and the place was clean. My order of chicken with vegetables and fried rice okay. I'm only guessing that the people in Montana don't eat food with a lot of spices. So... my food was not spicy or had much flavor. I got a small plate with the rice and chicken piled up. We loved this little hidden gem! The food was amazing and really authentic! It can be hard to find that in this town. The staff was amazing! Our kid broke a plate and we offered to pay for it but they kept telling us it happens and to not worry about it. The food was decent and the service was just ok. The lady at the front was super sweet but our server didn't seem to care all too much. Plus she never once asked us if we wanted tea or anything other than water seemed to want to rush us a bit. Plus it's a bit expensive for the portions you receive. We were looking for a quick place to have lunch as we were traveling through the area. We found this place had good reviews so we decided to try it. We walked in a were greeted by the Hostess who showed us to a table and quickly got us a pot of hot tea. It was very good. I ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp combo with Egg Drop Soup and Chicken Fried Rice. My wife ordered Hot & Sour Soup and Chicken W/Vegetables. Our server brought out the soup in no time and was quickly flowed by our meals. The were fresh, hot and delicious. The dinning room is huge so they must do a very good business here. This place is amazing. I've gone a few times and it's always been great. This is the best Chinese place in great falls, which isn't hard to beat since the other places give you diarrhea the second you walk in. The food is great, no stomach issues here, and it's actually pretty clean! The bathroom even was the cleanest bathroom Ive been in. The only thing I don't like is how far it is from the rest of town, but they can't change that. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Me and my wife ordered food over the phone for take-out. Can't comment on the dine in experience, but they had our food ready on time. It was surprisingly very good. Restaurant also had a nice atmosphere to it, so we do plan on dining in at some point. read more

The best hot and sour soup I have ever had!!! I grew up in the military and had a lot of hot and sour soup form 100s of different place around the US. They are so friendly and welcoming even after moving away 5 years ago when I come they always give a great welcome back. All the food is top of the line ingredients and made perfectly. read more

Four for lunch. Not the best we have had by any means, but our favorite Oriental (Chinese & Korean) in Great Falls. Service is always friendly and the food consistently OK...not great...OK. The facility was very clean...including the bathrooms.The Beef Bulgogi was a little on the mild side from what I am used to, but good. The Kim Chi was surprisingly tame...wouldn't repeat. I think Kim and Chi had a falling out and Kim left town. The Sweet & Sour dishes both OK...the pork being better than the chicken. If you are looking for excellent Chinese or Korean, Vegas is just a 10 hour drive, or... the Mongolian BBQ lunch at the 3D is well worth a try. read more

I lived in Great Falls for 7 years and by happenstance ended up at Maple Garden on the first day (while we were still house hunting) and ended up going back at least once a month for the next 7 years, I have been tempted to visit Great Falls just to go to Maple Garden and Showdown alone!! They have great korean food and the staff is attentive and always so friendly and accommodating even for large groups. My family had two different graduation dinners there with 20+ people and they set up a nice space for us in the back and even worked with us to choose a set menu for all of the guests. The Beef Bulgogi is a must try, it's flavorful and spicy but can be mellowed out a bit if you wrap it in lettuce with white rice. The yaki mandu, which is basically a korean potsticker, is also amazing. Its a little bit far from the center of town but it is so so worth the drive! read more

The food here is relatively decent in portion and taste for the price. The beef and roast pork were both reasonably flavorful. However, the service is definitely subpar. While being one of two tables in the entire ~30 table restaurant, we were rushed to order several times within a short period of time (probably no more than 3-5 minutes between each time we were asked if we were ready to order). We were not offered any assistance in ordering, nor if we had any questions. In fact, the service was such that when we tried to adjust our plates after the wrong ones were put directly in front of us, the waitress declared "What? You don't want to share? Whatever." in what I can only describe as the most aggressive and snarky tone I have ever heard from anyone in customer service/hospitality. My dining partner and I were both somewhat stunned and baffled. Overall the food is worth at least one try, but after this experience I'd recommend ordering to go. read more

I'm surprised this place is rated four stars. Three is already a bit of a stretch. My colleague and I stopped by on a Friday after work. The service wasn't especially friendly. The entrees don't come with much rice. My Yu Shan beef was decent, if a little bland. The portion was a bit light for $11. My friend's kung pao chicken also was not as flavorful as we had hoped. This place is a gem! Don't let the decor fool you, the food is delicious and the people are great! You get a pot of hot tea and water for your table. The hot and sour soup is out of this world. Appetizers and soups were great but the main meals lacked flavor. My husband got the general tao chicken and I got the sesame chicken. This is a tough one. I wanted this to be great, but it was just ok. We ordered 2 combination plates, and I asked if they had any discounts (i.e. military, first responders, etc...) and I was told, "no, my boss is military and our food is cheap". I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I know they didn't mean the cost of the meals. I think we spent about $37, and we got the same meal at an unnamed Chinese fast food place across the street for $17. This would be fine if it was substantially better in some way, but it was very similar. The food wasn't bad, it was just very business-like (I'm looking for a bit more welcoming) and the portions (for the cost) were modest. I won't say anything bad because it was very adequate. But i can't say it was the most tasty, or the best deal, or had great customer service, or really anything better than can be had at a better price elsewhere...and for that reason, I am out. read more

84.00 dollars spent and to be honest I feel so guilty I cheated on Umami but it was my birthday and when I went to Umami the sushi chef was out of town and they were going to be closing in less than an hour and me and the crew didnt want to be rushed. Why why why Im so mad at myself I wasted my money at Maple Garden I don't understand why other reviewers rave about this place its truly not that. Kimchi was good and the vegetable egg foo young the bbq pork fried rice were the only things I liked. Almond fried chicken would have been better if the gravy had any flavor was totally flavorless,the shrimp roll appetizers were not that tasty was supposed to be wrapped in bacon but I guess they were out. If I had never traveled out of great falls this would get 5 stars. But that's not the case, so I'll give them 4. I came her for bibimbap but they don't have it apparently. So I had bulgogi instead. Although I was disappointed, It was tender and sweet. I was sharing with my 4 year old so I opted for no spices but that would have been great! Orange chicken was super good. Big pieces of crunchy chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce. Fried dumplings were so delish. Also, egg drop soup was a good balance and not too gelatinous like most. read more
