Now, I like Mongolian BBQ as much as the next person, but in my heart I'm a soup girlie. One lady got my drink while the guy walked me through the pho menu. Best pho I've had in years. Everyone was so excited when I told them I already knew what pho was, but boy were they ready to walk me through the process. Soup was hot and refreshing in the best way. This place is far too empty for the quality of food. Get on this Great Falls!!

You can order off the menu or do the Mongolian grill. There was 6 of us, 5 ordered the grill, I ordered chicken pad Thai. Serving were large enough for me to bring home leftovers. Everyone that had the grill were totally satisfied and had no complaints. Fill your bowl so that it is heaping because it will cook down. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us multiple times. I would eat there again if I lived in Great Falls.

The egg drop soup was way, way too salty and the tomato soup was a tiny bit too salty. We ordered the broiled halibut. Portions were a bit small, slightly over cooked, and lacked flavor. The fish was supposed to be seasoned with herb butter. I had a backed potato that was way over cooked, meaning the skin was very dark, nearly black. I should have just ordered the French dip that I was thinking about.

Pickled fresh lettuce, souvlaki meat (chicken or pork option) chunks with fried onions (optional) and ate it sandwich style but cut it up with a fork and stuffed my face. Good Flavor. The food is also consistently delicious and the service is consistently friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is upbeat with Mexican music playing. It has an ambiance that creates a comfortable environment sitting and talking with friends or loved ones while enjoying authentic Mexican food. I've noted some of the low reviews and they generally seem to be posted by people traveling through. I can only say I am not originally from Great Falls. I grew up all over the world. I began eating Tex-Mex as an 8 year old in San Antonio, Texas. If that doesn't form a person's palate for what true Tex-Mex tastes like, then nothing will. La Cocina's kitchen staff knows exactly what they're doing and they do a great job. Sure, it might not be as spicy as one might find in San Antonio, but the spices used are exceptionally flavorful and appropriate, especially for Great Falls clientele, which, after all, is the target customer base. If you're as adventurous as I am and just like eating something super spicy, they provide El Yucateco Chile Habanero sauce right at the table! The food is served piping hot every time. This place deserves 5 star reviews all day long. Writing this review has made me hungry. I'm definitely heading back to La Cocina for lunch today.
