This is truly the Last Best Places' Last Best Restaurant! Definitely the very top if not firmly ensconced in the top 3 of all restaurants in the Great Falls/Cascade County area. Worthy of 10 stars but the app only allows 5. Tremendous execution of Montana's best wild and farm raised produce. To sum up in one word: Authentic.... Hard to say what is best because everything on the menu is sublime! We heartily recommend the bison, aged beef, trout, and all the seasonal specialties. Ambience is Montana comfort mixed with intimate nuances. Charlie Russell himself would feel at home here! You cannot go wrong coming here for a post-meeting repast, wedding anniversary, first date, or a family reunion! In fact I'd create excuses just to sup here. Wine list is very impressive. If Le Guide du Michelin rated US restaurants, Beef N Bone would earn a star. I'll stop now otherwise I'll start sounding like a down-east tourist on a Costco travel tour. I also didn't like the seating next to the kitchen and the door where i saw many other tables open. I had reservations, i wish we had a better table and better service. BNB 7/8/25 Industry veteran, and Chef in the area. Greeted quickly, host was friendly and accommodating. Dining room was clean and well-furnished. No seating at the bar felt a bit odd. Service staff were attentive and clean. They maintained good eye-contact and ready, unforced acknowledgment for myself and other guests. Top notch service overall throughout the entire dining room. Interior is gorgeous, the tables were spaced nicely, decor not overdone. Volume was a nice buzzy level without being overwhelming, music was calm and appropriate. Place felt lively but still comfortable. Table cozy, setting unique and old-school classy. The vibes were like a country club inside someone's house. The typeface, font and presentation on the menu have some charm but all felt extremely dated. An update would not hurt to modernize and clean things up a bit. A lot of named sauces and styles that were fairly unclear. Wine list was excellently curated for the selection available. Lot of diversity with region and terroir on the imports! Salad 8.5/10 Tomato fresh and cut nicely Flatbread cracker made great texture Onions cut strangely and could have maybe been more present Bacon, blue cheese, blue cheese dressing, perfect Points for actual frisée and nice lettuces rather than industry-standard mesclun spring mix. The optics and presentation were very strange for the salad but felt like a nod to old school supper club style steak and chop house service. It definitely worked. Entree: 7.5/10 I had the Flat iron, northern breaks style, cooked blue. I had my server suggest a side and I got the loaded mashed potatoes. I personally could have done with more crab and less shrimp, the shrimp were overcooked and a bit chewy. The brown sauce for the northern breaks set was delicious. Crab was tender and the bits of softened green peppercorn helped it really pop. Steak was seasoned well with salt but very aggressive on black pepper. Blue cook on the steak was perfect. Props to kitchen team. Potatoes could have had double the salt, cream and butter. Felt starchy and had a noticeable amount of skin. Bacon on top was nice but the broiled cheese barely registered. I wanted more of everything else except the potato. A lot of black pepper here too. Cote du Rhone rosé was excellent all the way through, crisp and lightly tannic with a bit of stone fruit skin and apple juice towards the end, very fresh bouquet. Paired nicely with the red meat, shellfish, and funky blue cheese. Great balance of acidity with just the right sweetness. Overall I had an excellent time dining out here as a one-top and would love to return soon! Really nice to see old-school bone-in preps on CAB quality meats. I felt like I was the youngest person in the dining room by about 10-15 years and would love to see more young folks come through and spend some money here, especially being so close to great falls proper. Again, the service was outstanding! The food was very solid and only could have used some minor tweaks to be perfect. The menu really threw me off and I'd love to see what a more modern set would look like. If you are looking for a capital-O Old School place to eat a gnarly steak that's been cooked to perfection, Beef N Bone is an awesome spot. In defense of old school: classics become classics for a reason. I had a lovely time and will for sure be coming back. I really wanted the prime rib. Looked amazing. But three meatheads ordered the biggest cuts you could get and ate like a couple of middle school girls and didn't make a dent in them. Ended up having the tomahawk. It has really good....but the prime rib looked better. Maybe next time we go, we won't order behind a bunch of guys that are all show and no go trying to show off for each other. The entire experience was first rate! We were greeted warmly and even though we were early for our reservation, they sat us immediately. Josh was our server and was very informative and attentive without being condescending or overbearing. The food was served in a prompt manner with appropriate wait between courses. The salad was perfect. The prime rib (mine) and rib steak (husband's) were delicious and prepared well. I had the loaded mashed potatoes which were amazing! Husband had the asparagus and said it was good but not over the top. We shared the lemon Italian crème cake with mountain berry topping. It was a fabulous completion to the meal along with a pour over drip coffee. The restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. We arrived for dinner service only 40 minutes before this restaurant closed as we were running late. They seated us promptly, brought our drinks and inquired about any appetizers we might want. When we asked for the beef bone appetizer (the main reason we drove out to the steakhouse) we were informed that this particular appetizer takes 40 minutes to make and the chef wouldn't have enough time. Our waitress then went the extra mile to go back and ask the chef if there was any way we could get it and they offered to bring it out as soon as it was done as long as we didn't mind it coming out at the same time as our meal, which we were happy to agree to! (NOTE: if you want the beef bone appetizer call ahead and let them know that you've made a reservation and that you'd like that particular appetizer and they will have it done shortly after you arrive so that you don't have to wait!). Our food was delicious, the drinks were perfect (just beer and wine, they don't serve hard alcohol) and our waitress was incredibly helpful even going so far to check on the ingredients in a particular dessert to make sure there were no allergens that our daughter would have an issue with. The only reason this place gets a 2 is because our waitress was great. I ordered a rare ribeye. It was delivered, and was not only not rare but also was a strip steak. I sent it back and they brought it back and said it was the "end cut" of the rib roast. It was awful and not even slightly marbled. I sent it back again and was confronted very rudely by the owner/manager, Eric Shaw, who attempted to humiliate me by asking me what temperature I want my steak. Gave our drink order around 7 and appetizer order. Got our drinks around 7:30, asked for at least some bread from the bartender since we hadn't seen our waiter since 7ish. We were told we would get some bread with our appetizers. Finally got our appetizers around 7:50, then got told they needed our table of 3 for a table coming in for a table of 4. But would cover our drinks if we would move. Whatever, we were close to the fireplace, and they agreed to take some pictures of us. Pictures were done but made sure it was an inconvenience, but they were busy, so I guess why offer or agree? Salads and soup was finally delivered around 8:30, dressings were wrong, and when addressed were told "we'll fix it when we get time." It never was, whatever ate them anyway. Soup was very good. Food was finally delivered and was excellent, but we were so tired we took most of it home. Finally left around 9. Love the food but the service needs some real help which is why we haven't been back in a long time and probably won't be going back again. Saw several tables get their drinks and bread almost 30 minutes before we did, and leave an hour before us. For reference our table was for 3, 2 adults and a teenager. I ordered a steak medium well- yes I understand that is little to no pink, however, I could not even cut through my steak. literally. I can usually make any type of "well" work- it's steak I will eat it no matter what, but I couldn't even chew it well enough to not choke on it. the manager states this is what the steak should taste like. they said they would not make me another one and I left hungry with an overpriced bill. Visiting beautiful Great Falls and dined at Beef n Bone with two other work colleagues. Our server (Breanne) was great. Super attentive but unfortunately had to apologize for the manager and the chef over and over. I have never dined in a steak restaurant that would not provide another steak due to the wrong temperature. The manager's answer to everything was no. The steak even went back to the kitchen and it was returned to our table and told, "don't look at the color, it's the right temperature." Take a hard pass on this place if you plan on attending. In hindsight, I should have known not to go to this restaurant because when I called to make the reservation I was asked by the manager what time we wanted to come to the restaurant. My answer was, "between 6:00pm and 6:15pm." The manager's response was, "so you want me to put the time down as 6:08pm." The manager has to do a quick evaluation of his life pursuits and maybe pick a new career path because restaurant hospitality (and common sense) is not his strength. read more

Don't go here unless you are from here. They sat us at the kitchen door when the whole dining room was empty. I was told by a waiter who sat us that the other tables were already reserved. Although, when we left, there were only 3 tables in the main dining room and us by the kitchen door. We went on a weeknight a little after 5. We were greeted and seated immediately. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Everything from the beer to the dessert (ice cream for my husband ) was from Montana. We had the Missouri Breaks for the appetizer, which was recommended by our server. I loved my experience here with my family. We wanted a fancy steak dinner but didn't plan ahead-luckily they were able to seat us without a reservation. Once we were seated they explained the menu and made some spot on wine recommendations. The salad was fresh and flavorful, the crouton was a nice touch. The bone marrow we ordered as an appetizer. Talk about good Montana grown beef. I purchased a MASSIVE 47 ounce cut of meat that was cooked perfectly, smothered in sautéd mushrooms, with a side of mashed potatoes. It was easily enough food for two people.. maybe 3. It was much more pricey than I expected being a $90 steak on the side of a desolate highway.. but it was a delicious. The inside was reminiscent of a classic grand mother's house. Definitely outdated but it was nicely kept and what was expected for its location. Took my girlfriend to Beef-n-Bone for a nice romantic dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated... Elegant with a real home feel. The lighting was perfect. The staff here seem genuinely kind and really make sure you are taken care of. The menu is ample... Chicken, seafood, steaks, etc.. My girlfriend had Chicken Missouri Breaks which is chicken breast with a sauce containing fresh crab and shrimp. I had the special for the evening which was a 16oz Rib Eye steak smothered with mushrooms and onions in a red wine reduction sauce. We both had the loaded potatoes as our starch. We started with a nice salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. AMAZING.! Our entrees came in no time... Impressive. I can't remember ever having a better prepared steak. I asked for medium and it was actually medium... Not rare or medium well. The sauce was incredible... Full of rich flavors and plenty to spare for my potatoes . This was an incredible meal. This was a GREAT meal! My wife had their St. Louis Style Ribs, the sauce was very very good. I will truly have to try that when we go back again. I had the RibEye, and it was cooked to perfection. Warm on the outside and nice and juicy pink on the inside, you can't ask for better. While we were there, the Co-Owner (Chef's Michael's Son) came up and chatted with us for a few, asked us where we were from, recommended meals, etc. It was a very quiet night being a Monday night, so even Chef Michael came out and chatted us up for a few. The timing for the courses was really nice and we were told that they want the dining experience to be just that, an experience not a quick in and out meal. Their goal is to average a 90 minute meal to help people slow down and enjoy the food and company no matter how busy they are. Heading to Great Falls to explore, saw a billboard for B&B then saw the restaurant couple of miles down the road, looked like your every day roadhouse, meh. Yelp had it being 3 $$$, what, that place??? Decided to stop in anyway and WOW what a difference inside, ok looking more $$$. Had a 15 minute wait for a walk in, everything after that was top notch. Our waiter Josh couldn't have been more accommodating!!! Stuffed mushrooms w/crab were amazing as was the salad with the fresh Gorgonzola dressing ( a bit heavy but perfect for my taste). We had the best flat iron steaks we've ever had, perfectly cooked MR and very tender. We also had the chicken fried steak with the peppercorn gravy, being it was the high end beef cut was the most tender and best we've ever had!!! Even with the price of the meal it is very reasonable and definitely worth it. We WILL be back. Reservations recommended,we lucked out with the early walk in @ 5:30. read more
