    Burger and such menu

Ok, this was amazing! We hit Paniolo today after talking about it for months, but only thinking about it when it was already closed. First, the staff were incredibly friendly, explaining the menu when we had questions. They have a standard menu, but depending on the day of the week they have other options. The place was cozy... in a good way. Honestly, the staff make you feel so at home, everyone seemed genuinely happy. The food was fantastic! We started with a stuffed Malasada... yummy. My wife got a Thai bowl which was nicely sized... she had to take about 1/3 of it home. I had the Loco Moco Burrito which had rice, macaroni salad, beef, and egg. When I saw egg, I expected scrambled, but to my pleasurable surprise it was like sunny side up or over easy which I think made it so much more tasty! The Moco dipping sauce added tremendous flavor as did the pepper water they bring to the table. if you're looking at it from the street, you might have trouble finding it. You go in the door just left of Inge's (if your facing it on central), stroll down the hallway and it's about the third door on the left. I have to say, this might be my new favorite in town.

We split the Hawaiian Brisket Sandwich and Macaroni Salad for lunch. The in-house made sauce coupled with the plentiful brisket and fresh toppings rendered a very good sandwich. It was large enough to satisfy two of us. The macaroni salad was good but needed a little salt to punch up the flavor. All in all, this place earned a return visit to try more of this interesting menu.

Beef and Broccoli daily special and Huli Chicken sandwich. Yummmmy

Descent food. Prices inline with what you get. Limited daily selection. Was hoping for spam musubi, but found out it's only on Thursdays.

Do you feel awkward parking at a hotel that looks like a total dump just to go upstairs to this bar? Yes, but you still should. I ended up going on my own, and came back with colleagues the last night of our trip as it's a must stop. As I'm sure we all know, what makes it fun and unique is the dancing Mermaid performances in the pool behind the bar. Such a cool concept to watch them entertain you while you enjoy a good drink. My first time in the bartender was fantastic and giving me all the history of the place, and how the pool used to just be the hotels' actual swimming pool, and guests would swim in it, no Thank you. I ordered the cranberry cherry limeade, not realizing that it was basically a bucket full of booze, equivalent to three drinks (not complaining, just forewarning) also enjoyed chatting with the bartender about how the place is haunted. Definitely gives off that vibe and total dive bar/tiki feel. I'd come back every time I'm in this town or on a road trip. 21+---although they allowed a few families to come in with kids for a minute and get a picture by the mermaids, which I thought was super cool. And yes, you can tip the maids too! I didn't get any food from the restaurant, but I heard from a few it wasn't amazing so I think this is just a dive drinking spot for me.

In Great Falls, Montana, that second mission is easily accomplished at Smoked. I went all in with the brisket burnt ends, baked beans, coleslaw, and banana pudding for dessert--and every bite confirmed I was exactly where I was supposed to be. The burnt ends were rich, smoky, and indulgent in the best way. The portions were perfectly sized (which I deeply appreciate), leaving room to enjoy everything without feeling overdone. The coleslaw was solid and refreshing, though I couldn't help wishing I'd gone for the spicy version--lesson learned for next time. The baked beans, though? Basic in the most comforting, nostalgic way. They instantly transported me to gathering around a campfire with friends, plates balanced on knees, smoke in the air, and no rush to be anywhere else. And then there was the banana pudding--simple, satisfying, and exactly the sweet ending a great BBQ meal deserves. If you find yourself in Great Falls and craving BBQ that delivers both flavor and feeling, Smoked is the place. This is the kind of spot that reminds you why seeking out local favorites is always worth it.
