Place is filled with old signage, and decor but it doesn't let down at all. Service is quick, and it's expected when the sign outside says open from 11am - 3pm or sellout which happens often. The meats are amazing. The brisket was cut with a plastic fork tender, juicy and nice smokey flavor. The rib were excellent. Great seasoning and at that perfect point of tender. The side were not the best potato salad was more mashed potato salad, not the best texture. The corn bread was either store bought or a box mix. It was more like cake then corn bread. Exceptional BBQ! We're from the South and I honestly didn't expect good BBQ from Montana; however, I was pleasantly surprised. This was among THE best BBQ I've ever had - definitely recommend! We placed a to- go order and got a pound of pulled pork BBQ, a pound of brisket, 2 jalapeño cheddar brats and a quart of macaroni and cheese. Everyone in our group kept raving about how good everything was - we each had a sample of everything and it was all delicious and flavorful. We couldn't resist trying the Carolina sauce, cuz that's we're from and are used to, but also got the Texas sauce and that was good too - both very flavorful! It was also great to see that they honor troops with a military special on Tuesday's, as we're actually in town visiting our Airman and his family! We'll definitely visit again! A+ read more

The meat was very good. We especially enjoyed the brisket because it was tender and flavorful, but the pulled pork was also delicious as were the two sauces.Since we were first-time customers, we were a bit confused on the process, but the staff was kind and helpful. I liked the slaw, but it wasn't my husband's favorite. I would definitely buy it again and would try other sides, but that may wait for a special occasion since it was a bit pricy for retired people. Montana isn't known for our BBQ --fresh caught trout on the campfire - yes, steak any way you can cook it - yes, bison chili - yes, bacon and such - of course, huckleberry everything- yup, but not BBQ. But Smoked killed tha smoked meats!!! My spouse had the brisket plate with mac & cheese and baked beans. I had the turkey sandwich, which came with a small side of slaw (not too much mayo, just enough vinegar AND purple cabbage and carrots too - I should have upsized), and mac &cheese. Both meals were very generous portions. The meat was sliced and served right in front of you. There were a variety of sauces on the table - Kansas, Texas, Alabama Ranch, and more w varying levels of heat, vinegar, sweetness, etc. Self serve pickled onions and jalapeños added great kick too. If you want a plethora of options to choose from, come early because the menu grows smaller as the day progresses. All of it is delicious, from the pulled pork and brisket to the pork belly Mac n Cheese. Any of their meats can be ordered as either a sandwich, family platter, or plate with two sides, providing they still have the meat you desire. For the most part, all meals start at $10 and go up from there but the portions are not scarce. Although the establishment is small, they have extra seating outside;however, that might be problematic in the winter. Nevertheless, whether you eat inside, outside, or somewhere else, the BBQ still taste scrumptious. As far as COVID safety measures are concerned, they neither require mask nor wear them. We're from California and we decided to check this place out. Glad we did! I not crazy about pulled pork but it was the best I've ever had. The smoked taste was not overbearing, just delicious! Was here a few years back and remembered how great it was then. Today I had the spice sausage, with 3 ribs and brisket with a corn muffin and Mac & cheese (w/pork belly). And the banana pudding for dessert. All very good except for two - the brisket was extremely fatty with little meat. And the pudding had no bananas - more like banana-flavoring. Poor customer service! Arrived for lunch to meet my wife for Valentine's Day, she unfortunately was running a couple minutes behind and as a result ... left me waiting. I had a seat at an empty table (1st come by the way). After a few minutes I was approached by a female who told me I could not sit there ... she accused me of "saving the table". I attempted to explain that I was not saving the table, but sitting there, she informed me once again that there is no saving tables. She then proceeded to ask me, my definition of saving a table. Unbelievable treatment of a customer that will not be returning based on this experience.
