The staff here is SO friendly and walked me through the steps and what to order. I've had hot pot at home before but never at a restaurant so the set up was pretty cool. Everyone gets their own hot plate and pot of broth and you add the protein of your choice. The sauces come with whatever you order as well (although I was really just a fan of the ponzu) The portion size was large so I was full leaving, but the addition of the veggies made me feel like I was eating healthier ha. When you're in Great Falls you know that they are famous for their..... Hot Pots. Ok maybe they aren't famous for that but the Tasty Hot Pot definitely lives up to their name. The staff is great and very helpful in explaining how to hot pot. We got the potstickers and edamame to start and share with the table. The potstickers are fried and the filling was a great blend of flavors. I chose to have chicken and beef with a spicy broth. I would highly recommend getting a minimum of the spicy broth as the standard broths are bland. If I go back I will get the very spicy broth as this didn't have enough heat for my taste. The amount of food you get for the hot pot is well worth the money and I would recommend visiting if you have the opportunity. read more

It was so good I went back again two days later! In town for work this week, and read every review about Tasty Hot Pot. I've eaten hot pot in many places. While it would have been nice to have a variety of mushrooms, the manager told me that people didn't eat the unusual fungi, so they stopped serving them. First time I had the medium spice broth (second from the top) with lamb. I like spicy noodle soups so the second time I added pork belly and glass noodles to my pot. . The broth was really spicy, and I felt it was difficult to taste the broth around the heat. In other words, not as flavorful as the first night, but delicious non the less. A local favorite I learned, as I shared with my colleagues back at the office the morning after. For those who concern themselves with comparing it this to their favorite of all time hotpot experience, perfection kills happiness. This food, and genuine staff that serve you, warm a person's soul and tummy. I'll be back and you should make this a must-eat when you're in GTF. They also have Sapporo on tap! read more

Great experience! My boyfriend and I came in here to try Hot Pot for our first time and I loved it! I got the beef hot pot with spicy ramen base for $24 and it was delicious, huge portions and took a lot home. The potsticker appetizer was delicious and tasted fresh and the drink options are great if you're a Sake lover. I love hotpot. If you've ever been to an actual hotpot restaurant, do not go here. It's just sad. There is no sauce bar, there's not even sesame or peanut sauce available. The soup bases are below mediocre. I asked for a spoon and small bowl to drink my soup base and the waitress refused to give me one and said I shouldn't drink it because it would upset my stomach. It is also relatively expensive for the meat and very limited vegetables you are served. There are no enoki or trumpet mushrooms here, only baby bellas. If you've never had hotpot and have zero expectations and only want to go for the novelty, try it. But it's a really poor representation of how wonderful fun and delicious hotpot can be. read more

For Great Falls this is a new and exciting eat out destination for sure! Their service is incredible, and the food is delicious, and fresh! The fact that they slap a plate of raw meat on the table and you get to boil up that sexy bloody beast to perfection on your own with some fresh veggies, and ramen or rice, it just brings out the primal fuck yeah as you salivate over a pot of boiling animal flesh. After doing hotpot in China, I've come to conclude tasty hot pot in great falls pales in comparison. Spent $60 and will now go to McDonald's because I'm still hungry. Maybe it's inflation, but for $45 for 2 choices (seems like 1 or 2 oz of sliced meat but advertised 4-5 oz). Also we had like 3 leaks and 3 leafs of Romain for vegetables I would have liked more greens. but this was my first and last time eating here. We had to ask for chopsticks and a spoon! Can you believe that? $60 for 4 microwave mini "spring rolls". A couple shaved slices of meat, a couple leaves of green, and a square or two of tofu and mushroom chip. Probably maybe about$5 worth of ingredients but paid $60. Because we wanted to upgrade to "Ramen noodles". Again hardly any ramen. We also paid for white rice. They didn't think to include white rice as a staple of the Chinese diet. If you are Chinese and desperate for a taste of home then maybe you will appreciate this pretentious place. Decent broth (suggest spicy) then plain broth sucks. Service was just okay. Table looks dirty, seats were dirty. I'm pretty sure I cross contaminated raw meet into chopstick and also burned my hand on the hot plate. I recommend going to Kobe seafood and steak next door with tepenyaki entertainment. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention we got the "free water". If we would have purchased Sakki or a Pepsi our bill would be closer to $80. read more

Went on opening night and again a week later. Service was very good and it's nicely decorated. The menu has a large list of proteins (10+) you can choose from and we had lamb, pork belly, and beef. All looked fresh and good quality. Good amounts of meat for the price. Tried all 3 of the broths. The regular is fairly bland. The tomato is ok. The spicy is the best option in my opinion and has a rather mild spice level that will appeal to a wide range of people. The 3 dipping sauces were ok. The 2nd time we tried the steamed pork buns (bbq flavor) and they were good. Hopefully after they've been open for awhile, they will expand the broth and dipping sauce selection. I'll be real here, the only reason that this gets 3 stars is that the staff is amazing, and the food itself was mostly high quality. The red bean bao were TERRIBLE, but everything else was great. But judging against other hot pot experiences I have had, this was sadly overpriced and lacked variety. The vegetable selection was abysmal- it felt like they were served as a pretty afterthought rather than an integral part of the hotpot. Broth selection was OK but could be expanded- Staff was very knowledgeable about the broths and was able to steer my party away from types they might not like. The last disappointing thing was definitely the dipping sauces- you get a selection of three, and they are not great. Where's the option to customize your own? The whole time I also REALLY felt the need for a sauce made with sesame paste rather than sesame oil. Two oily sauces and a "barbequeue" was just not cutting it. I may return again to see if it is any better, but at this point I'm not excited to go back, and I REALLY want a hot pot restaurant in this town. read more

Very expensive for what you get and having eaten hot pot around the world it's a bit disappointing to get so little veg and things, two bits of cabbage, a few pieces of tasteless bok Choi and a couple small bits of tofu...I'd rather have half the meat and three times the veg and noodles. It too ages to get the food to put in the broth, like twenty minutes which as it wasn't packed was again disappointing.. I left feeling hungry having spent $72 with tip for two..
