Visited maple day spa on New Year's Eve day for a couple massage with my husband to welcome the new year! We had two great massages with a foot scrub add on! My favorite part about maple was the fact that the room was so warm and the beds were heated. It made the massage so much more comfortable and relaxing! My masseuse worked my low back well, as she could tell it was tight. I felt so refreshed and my pain was gone after. We checked out and got a bottle of water and candy. It was a sweet gesture. My mom and I have gone here twice now and have had great experiences both times. We were originally going to buy a Groupon but, after calling, the person let us know it was cheaper to pay with cash. For $120 (cash), you get a one hour full body couples massage and your choice of either foot scrub, cupping, or hot stones. My mom and I have only had the hot stones and it's very relaxing. The rooms are very relaxing - low light, relaxing music, etc. The masseuses are very understanding if you want more/less pressure. Lisa is amazing! They end with giving you water and candy. My partner and I went in for a couple's massage. In the beginning of the massage the ladies who were massaging us were talking for at least 5 minutes. I understand communication regarding boundaries, instructions, or anything in that nature, but these ladies were having a full on conversation and giggling. In addition, my lady burped and sneezed near my head, then proceeded to go along with the massage. Not sure what part of her arm she used to cover her mouth, but she used her elbows and hands for the massage, so my massage oils were infused with a bit of sneeze...Overall, the massage itself was good. However during the massage, someone came in the building (not our room), and asked for assistance. I don't understand why, but both our ladies exited the room LEAVING OUR DOOR OPEN while we laid there, only a thin cloth each covering our naked bodies. They were gone for about five minutes before continuing the massage. My partner said that their massage lady sat on their head...TWICE. At the completion of the massage, their door suggests a 20% or more tip for a "none interrupted 1 hour massage." I understand how hard it is to have jobs like this and despite the experience we had, still wanted to tip something. I gave them $20 for their service but when they found it was to be shared amongst the two of them, my lady dropped her smile and shoed us away with the bill and said "ok, go go." Went in for a couples massage for my birthday and the massage itself was great. During the massage someone came into the building and the lady left me there for some time. When she came back she said she'd give me extra time but when I checked the clock at the end there was no extra time given. They rushed the last minutes because someone had come in for their massage which is horrible booking on their part. When it was time to pay the front desk lady was requiring a tip when there was no where stated it was mandatory. We then tried giving her cash but apparently it was not sufficient and wanted more. We paid two hundred dollars which I believe was plenty for our service. I'm not saying it's an easy job but if they want a tip it should be stated instead of having the receptionist hassle us for more which was the part that bothered me the most.
