Awesome experience today Saturday at Mantequilla Breakfast in Tijuana, Mexico! Parking is definitely challenging, not many options, I recommend their valet parking service if you don't know the area (I don't know the area either lol.) Staff were nice and welcoming, giving some excellent recommendations for our first time. Patio seating and inside seating available. Nice relaxing atmosphere, very pleasant, and not too loud! Food was delicious! My wife and her friend got the chilaquiles, I ordered the shrimp omelette. And fresh squeezed orange juice. Loved it! Prices were between 200-300 Mex Pesos ($10-$15 USD). Pay in Mexican pesos if possible, you'll avoid the exchange fee! Definitely recommended! read more

Food is not as good as it's being portrayed. My daughter order the classic. Brought us a completely different plate called the American. To top it off he gave it to my toddler. I was confused since they didn't have a kids meal he suggested a plate and I agreed (thinking it was a ham and egg) didn't want to argue since he said I order. He brought that plate first so my toddler can start eating before us and then my oldest daughter didn't get her plate. The classic comes with ham, bacon, eggs, pancakes. The American came with potatoes, french toast, egg, sausage and bacon, two completely different plates. So not sure where the confusion happened. Breakfast plate had eggs, ham, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. Best part were the potatoes. My chilaquiles plate best part were the black beans! This is a great brunch spot, they've expanded the menu so much in the last couple of years I was very impressed with all the options. The prices are very reasonable, and extremely affordable if you're traveling from San Diego. I did order a mimosa I never received and just realized when we got the bill but they were very quick to waive it when I brought it up and so apologetic. The decor is Japanese because by night this restaurant transforms into Saketori, a Japanese eatery, which also has amazing food. Omg where do I start, firs of all is a fur friendly restaurant so we were able to hang out with our little Yorkie Khloe. My wife and I both started with sharing a lobster Benedict and WOW it was amazing! We also tried their mezcal drink ( can't remember the name) but it was delicious. We then ordered oysters, pie with ice cream and to end our adventure sashimi a two shots of 400 conejos mezcal because why not? Yes they have it all there! This place is hands-down the best breakfast place I've ever been to in Tijuana. We got there by chance, we stayed at a place close by and thought we'd try it. Such an EPIC brunch spot located in TJ. This was the first stop on a foodie trip across the border and it did not disappoint. They were crowded, but we did not have to wait too long for a table. And there's definitely something fun about enjoying brunch on a Saturday morning in a room with tons of other people doing the same. It was my first time coming here and things were pretty interesting. I went today with my mom and my grandma around 12:30 pm. We waited approximately 10 to 15 minutes and then got sat. I didn't like where we got sat! All the way in the back. I wanted to get a table at the entonces patio. But next time we will request that. Our waitress was a little bit clueless but she was friendly and polite. We ordered orange juice and two chai hot lattes. For entree we ordered the Italian omelets, chipotle chilaquiles and two orders of pancakes. All the food was pretty amazing very tasty. Especially my hot cakes were delicious. It came with fresh fruit strawberries and bananas with this awesome butter on top. We had asked for spicy spicy chilaquiles and the waitress said they don't do any of that. At that moment my mom got very disappointed because we are in Mexico she was expecting it to be possible but no big deal. They brought us some hot sauce and that was perfect. Really enjoyed the food here! I would definitely recommend this place for brunch! Order the bottomless mimosas they have an excellent deal for these. I also enjoyed the French toast. The bread was soft and sweet. My boyfriend got the egg sandwich which was also very delicious! You can't go wrong with these. The wait time was about 20 minutes which was well worth it. I have been to Mantequilla Cacho location several times. The food is pretty good and the waiters are attentive. However I visited today and was not happy with their new policy of only being able to dine for a limited time. Even if you are in the process of eating/drinking they will ask you to move so that your table can be used for another customer. I understood this policy during Covid but there is no excuse now. I will not be visiting again. There are plenty of other places in Tijuana to enjoy after a nice spa day that will not ask you to move. read more

I was searching around for a great breakfast place to try in Tijuana and I turned to Yelp Talk for some assistance. My Yelp friend Monica A came recommended a few places and I settled with Mantequilla after I saw the egg sandwich. After entering Tijuana I requested an Uber at Estacion Federal and ended up paying $3.06, which I consider very reasonable since the taxis want $5. The ride took about 10 minutes on a Sunday morning. Mantequilla is located right across from Caliente stadium, where the Xolos play. I would first recommend that customers bring a windbreaker as Mantequilla is an open air café. Upon first arriving my date and I ordered lattes and they were very delicious. And as with other coffeehouses in Tijuana they made a design with the foam. After seeing photos of the egg sandwich I new I had to sample one for myself. The egg sandwich includes a light and buttery bun, avocado, egg, lettuce, cheese, etc and a side of potatoes. My date ordered French toast and it was delicious as well. Since prices are a little more reasonable in Tijuana I thought why not try a Mimosa while I was there. I have to say it was worth the $89 pesos and I believe the price for bottomless Mimosas is $189. The service was great and I can not think of anyway for them to improve. I would highly recommend they offer Wifi. The bathrooms are located in the back and up the stairs. I was puzzled with the Japanese furnishings throughout, but later learned that after breakfast hours the place converts to a Japanese restaurant. If you are from the US side I highly recommend walking around the area a few minutes as there are some small boutique eateries that are worth checking out. I definitely plan on returning! read more

Overrated millennials restaurant with overpriced food. Worst of all, I ordered classic Benedict eggs which come with a side of country potatoes, these came with a gift, a metal staple. It would had been devastating for me to have taken a bite on this. I told the server, they took my plate and then bring the check. Later I was told by (who I believe it was) the manager that they were making a new entree. It took forever and it turned out to be the wrong style of Benedict eggs, they brought me Benedict eggs w/guacamole. My wife wanted a fruit salad, it was a real joke. Food is normally silly like avocado toast and other millennial choices. Mostly are just a bunch of carbs. We would never go to a place like this but my daughters insisted.
