    Rice Bowl- Lechon Kawali

The restaurant had a decent amount of seating with comfortable chairs. There are stairs that lead to a platform where orders are taken. We were given a number when we ordered our food because we were dining in. Our food was brought to us in a timely manner and the drinks were done pretty quick as well. The drinks were delicious. The food was too! I really liked the lechon. The bowls are tiny and I probably wouldn't have been full if I don't order the other items. The lumpia was perfect crispyness but I don't think I would order again because of the price. It's over $1 per piece and they're small. Tiramisube was good but dryer than I expected. I would definitely come back for the drinks but the food I would get on occasion.

I've eat men at Mano multiple times, I just had to leave a review. I love this little place... everything has big flavor. I love the lumpia and the breakfast bowls. The longanisa is so flavorful! The food is always hot and quick and the coffee offerings are delicious.

we were visiting from LA and wanted to support filipino owned businesses customer service was 10/10, super friendly and warm. i got the turon banana latte n the flavor was so strong and good, didn't have that artificial banana taste. they were also super kind when they ran out of the syrup for my friends drink and offered a replacement + a free pastry!

Sooooo cozy and home-y, I can't wait to come back. Became a quick fave. Loved the pandan latte (love pandan!), and the chicken adobo was fresh and yummy and simple. Would definitely come back and try other menu items

I love love love the pandan chai here! That's what I go back for every time! I recently tried the ube latte but thought the coffee flavor overpowered the drink--did not really taste anything but coffee/milk (didn't really taste any ube). The lumpia is a good app if you're feeling snackish, but they are very small, like the size of a finger. Yummy Silog--longanisa + spam, which includes garlic rice! Casual eatery that also gives coffeeshop vibes--people brought laptops and were working in the space. Quick service--barely had to wait for our food and drinks!

This place is really cute and has so much seating for groups or for individuals. I really like how their menu is broad enough for everyone to have something. The ube chai was delicious and I will definitely be coming back for another one. The vibe is very homey and lowkey which I also really appreciated. I would love to try some of the food next time as well!

Ordered from here and loved it! I had silog w longanisa and spam. Also had excellent lumpia. Can't say anything about the interior since I ordered delivery, but the food came quick and hot! I'd like to try going in to get more food!

A small community cafe is Filipino focused. I highly recommend coming inside to pick up to go or if they have seating open.

Was it even a "fresh" egg?

Barista was neglegent or incompetent (take your pick) and failed to secure my coffee lid before handing me the drink carrier, so my keys drowned in cafe de con in the car cup holder. But at least the food will be good I thought....wrong again!!! Wow such a different experience than other visits. My egg was OVERCOOK not a drop of runny yolk AND the meat, both the spam and longasina was UNDERCOOKED like only cooked on one side. The rice medocre at best...this Filapina says lower your expectations if you dine here. Salamat

Pandan Latte & Mango Matcha Latte

ASH & JESSE'S COFFEE CRAWL '25 Ranked #6 out of 15 We came into Mano Modern Cafe right after we visted Standing Passengers, another nearby coffee shop. The walk was absolutely beautiful, Chicago never ceases to surprise me. If I am being completely honest, the first interaction with the cashier was not the greatest. A bit standoffish and seemed annoyed, even rolling his eyes at one point. I tend to give everyone grace so we still ended up ordering. We ordered a Mango Matcha & a Pandan Latte, as well as a longaniza breakfast wrap. The Mango Matcha was so good. Everything I want in a mango matcha. Usually people do a mango purée at the bottom which I love too but this was different. Almost like a mango smoothie or milk. Remind me almost of the cuban mango smoothies I grew up with. 10/10. The pandan latte was okay-- not sweet, only slightly nutty, and kinda watered down? The wrap was good and the sauce they add is a good touch but insanely small for the price point? I ended up engaging in more conversation with the cashier and supposedly they had a busy day and he was tired and ready to go home. He genuinely seems like a sweet guy, maybe just caught him at a bad time when we first came in.

Talk about a quaint spot, this would be it! Corner coffee shop that serves Filipino food and coffee drinks, amongst other items. Watch your step when you enter. You then head up a few more steps to order your drinks and food. We ate and drank there so all the items were brought to us. Food was so flavorful. Haven't had Lechon and Longaniza in some time. And with rice and egg, my mouth still waters thinking of it. Service was quite fast for coffee and food. Lattes were ok. We did the ube and pandan. Could have had a bit more flavor on both. Matcha is good! Would recommend it. Aesthetically cute!

Mano Modern is the kind of place you stumble into once and immediately add to your regular rotation. From the perfectly crafted pandan lattes to the relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect place to work for hours or socialize. They make pandan and ube syrups in-house so those flavors can shine in every cup. The matcha is high quality too. Every drink is crafted with care and consistently smooth without going overboard. The rice bowls are stars in themselves too - fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. From hearty breakfast sandwiches to the vegan chorizo bowls, Mano Modern really captures that savory-sweet flavor combo ubiquitous in Filipino cuisine. The staff is friendly and efficient, while vibes remain lowkey and relaxed. Whether you're posting up with a laptop or catching up with friends, Mano Modern is THE spot.

Quick pick me up spot. This is solely on the drink options. It failed to wow me. Pandan & ube was too light in taste where I can't taste if. Sister in law got the white rabbit when it was in season and same effect, there were no affect. All I tasted was milk in my latte so sad. My husband asked if I got water. The dessert was pretty tasty but so small and pricy.

There are a lot of bars and places to watch football in this area, but this spot seems like it's a great one. First, the food was very good. I ordered the smashburger with tots, buffalo chicken wings, an espresso martini and a cookie skillet for dessert. I've had a lot of smashburgers and this is a very good one. The espresso martini measures up to anyone that I've had in any Chicago bar. The tots were hot and crispy and the chicken wings very good. The cookie skillet is a a must order for dessert. I loved the ambiance. It's a pretty classic bar and grill with a lot of TVs, but their patio sets the place apart. It gets tons of sun and still has plate of TVs to watch the game. The service as excellent. My waitress was nice, attentive and had good suggestions. This is a must visit apart for a drink, food or to juts watch the game.

The tater tots were very crispy and tasty. My only complaint is that the Caesar wrap lettuce wasn't crispy since it was served warm and I just assumed it was going to be served cold and crunchy. It was still good but when I ate it the next day after it was in the fridge it was definitely better. I would definitely go back since it was seasoned well and had a good ratio of lettuce, chicken, and Parmesan.
