Wow so impressed with Boonie! First of all, love all the plants they have at the front of the restaurant! Service was so attentive, professional and friendly. The food was amazing! We only got to try 2 things as we intentionally came here for snack. Absolutely loved the salon and the kare kare. Can't wait to visit again and try the other options!

Sizzling sisig was delicious!! We also got the salad and cod which were so good. I only wish I got the garlic rice instead of the regular. Our server was very nice and food came out fast. The interior was clean and calm. I'd love to come back!

What an amazing restaurant. Filipino food has been elevated to new levels at this cozy spot. If you think of Filipino cuisine 'humble', then you really need to come to Boonie's. Service is sublime. The bar program is outstanding. And the food otherworldly. If you're lucky, the chef will come to your table and prepare a dish table side. This is definitely a place that I will return to whenever I'm in Chicago.

Very good Filipino food! We got the lumpiang (yum), sisig (yum), garlic rice (super simple but super yum), and adobo broccoli (yum!!). Everything was seasoned perfectly and the drinks were amazing. I got the hibiscus habanero Negroni and would recommend. Slightly busy on a Saturday night but the service and ambiance was great.

Got broken up with in the morning and the food here really healed my soul haha. The lumpia was hot and fresh and the pork filling was juicy. Everyone raved about the breakfast sandwich so of course I had to try it- it had Vigan longganisa, silky egg, smoked gouda, hashbrown on bibingka. I've never had bibingka before and it was tasty but a little thick for my liking. Overall, flavors were delish and service was 10/10. My server Christine was very sweet and attentive. I'd come back!!

We shared: 1. BBL sandwich - Vigan longganisa, silky egg, smoked gouda, hashbrown 2. Bistek Silog - marinated beef short rib, calamansi caramelized onions, garlic rice 3. Redline Express - shrimp, crispy pork, long beans in spicy coconut sauce, white rice BBL was tasty overall, reminiscent of a mcgriddle with the sweet buns which didn't have much structural integrity. The beef short rib didn't really fall off the bone and hard to eat chewy. Garlic rice was crispy, flavorful, excellent. Crispy pork in Redline Express was dry/tough and the skin was not crispy. Not enough sauce. Service was good and friendly. Not a fan of eating in dim lighting.

Look if you're Filipino looking for traditional cooking stop reading and go some where else. For everyone else let's continue. Boonies is an upscale, elegant, date night restaurant that happens to serve Filipino fusion. For starters we had Shanghai lumpia(egg rolls) good, satti(chicken marinade with mochi corn bread) better, sinigang salad - excellent! The $2 garlic rice is worth the upgrade. Our mains was gulay Kare Kare excellent veggie dish. I would have preferred some beef - Im nitpicking. We also had the prettiest Krispy pata I've had. Regardless of what you choose the quality drips on all the dishes. I rank the food because I have too but really they are all good. I like Bonnie's I don't know what else to say.

Come here for lunch & get the BBL. Just do it. This was without a doubt the BEST breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The taste is comparable to a fancy McGriddle. I actually told my server this & he informed me that the chef designed this sandwich to be like a McGriddle! If you love a good sweet & savory combo like I do, you gotta check this out. The restaurant is cozy n homey with all the cute family photos, but also chic! Def returning!

Best damn fried chicken! Really generous portions and super tasty. It also came out piping hot!! Definitely burned my mouth while eating it but i didn't even care, it was so good. The short ribs were also very tasty and flavorful. The Pork belly wasn't like the pork belly at Bayan Ko. It was quite lean and not tender. The lumpia was also only okay. Good flavors but the pork was too lean so it wasn't juicy. The sisig was also only okay. I'm glad I tried Boonie's but I think I'm more of a Bayan Ko girl.

First time dining at Boonie's. First experience eating Filipino food. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, answered questions and made the experience easy to navigate. Food was paced nicely and although we ordered several dishes our two top was never crowded. Ambiance was cozy without feeling crowded.

Tried Boonie's for the first time and it did not disappoint. I had the lechon and gulay kare kare, both of which were making their debut on the menu that day--and wow. As a Filipino, I came in with high expectations (and a little skepticism), but the lechon surprised me in the best way. I was expecting something heavier that would leave me in a food coma, but it was beautifully balanced, crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the veggie kare kare. I've only ever had kare kare with oxtail, so the veggie version was new to me--and I loved it. I also tried the sinigang salad, which unfortunately missed the mark. It didn't evoke any familiar Filipino flavors for me and felt a bit underwhelming. Dessert was turon, but it came with a plantain purée rather than whole slices, which took away some of that classic texture and experience I was hoping for. That said, the highs far outweighed the lows. I'm already planning my next visit--and can't wait to bring my parents. A fresh and exciting take on Filipino food that still respects the roots.

    Harden K.

Boone's Filipino Restaurant delivered an amazing dining experience. I started with Bundok's Fried Chicken, which was perfectly crispy, crunchy, and juicy. The house-made signature barbecue sauce on the side was flavorful and made each bite even better. For my main dish, I had the Bistek Silog with marinated beef short rib, calamansi, and caramelized onions. The short rib was incredibly tender and juicy, paired perfectly with fresh garlic rice and a runny egg on top--simple, comforting, and packed with flavor. The service was outstanding--friendly, polite, and attentive to dietary needs. The ambiance was cozy, warm, and vibrant while still feeling intimate. Boone's is definitely a spot worth visiting, and I'll be back.

Heading north on HWY 41 you'll be hitting so many small hamlets with amazing restaurants on every corner it's a foodie haven; and this was my good fortune tonight up in the Ravenswood section of Chicago. I've always known about Boonies Filipino Restaurant for years but never had the notion to try it. And, yes I've been to the Philippines and yes I've had my fair share of this cuisine in the capital city of Manila, but never sought out this food here in The States. But what tweaked my curiosity tonight was a write up on Boonies Bastos Burger & Fries only served on Wednesdays and Thursdays and only at their bar. This small but fashionable bistro had a trendy and smart feel about it. I found it dapper and very tasteful. As for their restaurant menu, everything looked and smelled great, but, I was on a Chicago Burger mission this night and I was not disappointed. My Bastos Bar Burger (say that fast three times) was the hit of this show: Two smash burgers with smoked gouda, adobo caramelized onions, roasted garlic patty melt sauce with a griddled Hawaiian bun served with a mild sauce was absolutely delicious. And the accompanying fries were "killer" in such a very good way. The "not quite ketchup / not quite BBQ sauce for these fries was original and very tasty and wow did this combination work. My San Miguel Light Beer was paired perfectly with my dinner. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and fun. I not only loved this restaurant, but had a very good time being here and will most definitely come back for the deep down Philippine dinner at a table instead of the bar. Five Stars without a second thought!

They make any drinks you order fresh when you get there, and it's really quick too! Service was very friendly and fast inside! The ube latte was one of the best ube flavors I've had in an ube latte before. Highly recommend! I had it iced. The pork belly adobo (only available on weekends I think) was a little disappointing. It's very possible it wasn't that great because it might've been sitting a few minutes before I picked it up and then it was 15-20 minutes uber back to my hotel to eat it. Food is always better when eaten fresh, so I don't fault them for it. The egg was perfectly cooked. I thought the pork belly would be cut in bigger chunks like their photos online, but they were cut very small. I want to try the breakfast sandwich next time I'm in town. The chocolate chip cookie with dark and white chocolate was big, soft, and yummy. I also got the banana tart which was SO good. It was not what I expected, but the flavors and textures were spot on. They have some benches on the side of their restaurant so if you do online order for pickup, I'd recommend trying to grab a spot there and eat the food fresh. I would recommend the baked goods and ube latte, not sure about the hot food until I can go back and try more menu items.
