The service offered at the office could be much better. I called multiple times and emailed them due to a challenge in getting proper responses or someone out to view our pool for a quote. After finally getting them in for a quote, the management was hard to get a proper response on about items on the repair list. They noted the items but didn't give a solution (even upon request. It's been a month and still no response. It has been one of the experiences that I didn't appreciate. I would consider another pool company. Requested quote and they came to view our pool. Said they could get it up and running quickly. We were in a state of saying whatever we have to pay to get it up and running, we will pay it. They took that and decided run with it. They did fix our breaker and pool setup only 6-7 weeks after the initial quote. The hurricane did effect the timing. As I ask to get the pool clean by Friday, Danny (Owner) said earliest is on Monday . So 8-9 weeks later with no working pool, so we decided to cancel the rest of the services and not sign up for the monthly services. He accused me of needing this win when I cancelled instead of customer service. I did not win in this, I took the L with them charging me for every thing and still not have a pool cleaned and running. My experience with Manning replacing a failed pool pump had been a comedy of errors and resulted in hundreds of dollars of additional expense to resolve. First, Manning replaced the pool pump and installed a Pentair unit, which was completely incompatible with the rest of my system/automation which are all Jandy products. After some time, they did replace it with a Jandy unit, which soon then after failed and required a repair under warranty. Locating the parts and scheduling Manning to return to my house took several weeks in which time my pool turned green from algae growth. To remediate, this required a full drain of the pool ($1,200 water bill) and Manning was happy to invoice me an additional $700 charge for chemicals for the pool. Two years ago we chose to have our pool resurfaced by Manning Pool Service and we learned some lessons. If you are considering using Manning Pool, read below and see the attached picture. We chose Manning Pool, and Manning Pool chooses a subcontractor to resurface the pool. Manning Pool chose a contractor named Benjamin to complete the job for our home. Fast forward two years and we started noticing two issues with our pool. Streaking and circles. We had 4 independent plaster installers come out, one recommended by Manning, and they each came to the same conclusion, the streaking is a chemical issue but the circles or "Pop-offs" are an installation issues. "Pop-Offs" occur when plaster is not properly installed with the adhesive. Enough time has passed to have come to a resolution. Manning has failed to work with us on an actual conclusion to our situation and shown no interest in taking responsibility for choosing an incompetent contractor. We spent roughly $5,500 for something that should've lasted us over a decade to something that lasted 2 years due to poor installation. They offered to redo our pool for full price with 2 months free of maintenance. If you chose to go with Manning Pool Service to resurface your pool, I would be sure to ask what contractor they are choosing and if they offer any sort of warranty in regards to "pop-offs" or issues due to poor installation. read more

I have been using MPS for a few years now. Their team is friendly and professional. But in particular Daniel is incredible. I have been asking why I was going thru chemicals and never got a very good answer. But after a few short visits from when Daniel took over, he called me to say something wasn't right as my pool was going through too many chemicals each weak. Found out I had an underground leak. I had been madly searching for why I was having water bills that were hundreds of dollars every month. The city was no help. But because of Daniel, MPS found and fixed the leak. Would give zero stars, if possible... I called Manning Pools, because my pool was turning green. They came by a week later (photo attached) and told me that they would have to drain the pool and left. Not knowing much about pools, I decided to get a second opinion. The Better Pool company, "PoolincCo (https://poolinco.com) showed up (same day), checked the levels and shocked the pool. All better now. Thank you, Al at PoolIncCo. I was told that draining this pool was NOT an option. It just needed cleaning. So glad that I followed my instinct and NOT the advice of Manning Pools. Manning Pools was supposed to fix a pool valve which became stuck by the freeze in February. After giving a quote to do the valve job they told my wife the pool pump was about to go and we needed to replace breakers. The pump which Manning installed and their electrician couldn't get it to work properly with our existing electrical box. They gave up but over billed for labor and equipment we did not need. So instead of a simple $500 pool valve repair, we have spent about $5000 with Manning and their electrician and still don't have a properly working pump. I have had a master electrician and our regular pool guy check things out and there was nothing wrong with either our existing pump or the GFCIs which we had and there was no need to replace them. I would under no circumstances use them to work on my pool ever again. read more

Be aware customer! their goal is to collect the trip fees first which is not deducted from final service charge like most companies do, even though you decide to use them. Per my own experience, I'd give 0 star reviews if possible. My pool pump is broken and I told them I need a new pump replacement. I sent over the pump brand and model before the technician came. However they charged $85 trip fee for only 2 mins, only 2 mins! in my yard and DIAGNOSED pump is broken, which I have already known. Later on, they quoted me $800 for a repair try but not guaranteed success, or $2000 for a premium pump replacement! Is your pump made by gold? I turned this company down and asked another company which finally replaced with a new pump promptly and charged $480. STAY AWAY from this SCAM company! read more

They are very expensive, do not stand by their quotes, and make ridiculous excuses for gouging the customer. I have a small (12.5K gallon) salt water pool, and was a Manning customer for about one year. They initially did a great job cleaning our pool, which is why I stayed their customer even though they were more expensive than other local pool companies ($260, or 281.45, incl tax, per month for weekly cleaning). I also liked the email info sheet showing levels of salt, chlorine, etc which was provided after the cleaning. Towards the end of the year their customer service started to slip. We had problems with stains building up, even though they maintained our pool weekly, and were then told it would cost extra to remove the stains. They also did not include checking for phosphates as part of their weekly maintenance, and I was told it would cost extra for that. A few months before my yearly contract was up, I was informed my rate would be going up to $300 per month, or $324.75 incl tax., to begin June 1st, due to increased cost of chemicals. Thats a valid reason to raise rates, but given that I thought they were expensive to begin with, I decided to go with another pool company who was cheaper, $269.72 incl tax. I don't like this other pool company as much. They don't provide an info sheet, I've had to ask them to add salt etc when needed, and a few other small issues. I asked Manning if I could resume service with them. I would have been willing to pay the $300 per month that I was quoted 2 months ago after comparing them to the new, cheaper but not as good service I was using. Instead of agreeing to the price I had just been quoted by them to start June 1, the sales rep Alan G. insisted on coming out to the pool (that they had serviced for a year up until a few months ago) and "checking" on it. We've been using a manning Pool to service our pool weekly for 2 years. They are reliable, consistent and honest. They communicate changes in schedule and always show up when they are supposed to. They have never left our gate unlocked. Anything that's ever come up that is under warranty they handle filing the claim and fixing the issue in its entirety. When we've needed something done quickly they have been able to provide prompt assistance. Just because you pay premium prices does not always equate to premium service but with Manning I assure you they are top notch and worth the expense! read more

We just started using Manning Pool Service a couple of months ago but so far, I'm very pleased with them! They have made a couple of repairs to our pool pump and filter for a reasonable price and they are always friendly and willing to help if I have questions. One day I noticed the pressure was low after they cleaned the pool and they came back out the same day and fixed it. Avoid this company. They replaced a light in my pool and quoted me a cost for the light and a separate cost for labor. They quoted me an hourly rate of $145.00, but when the technician showed up to replace the light, it only took him 45 minutes to finish task. Naturally, I assumed that I would only billed for one hour labor, but instead, they billed me for two hours labor for $290.00. When I inquired about the billing, I was told that it "was a two hour job". When I said the technician only took 45 minutes, the company said that he was one of their better techs and could do the job quicker but that I still had to pay two hours because that was what it should take to do the job!! Then I was told that it was the company's policy to bill what it "should" take to do the job instead of what it actually takes. Plus, they had my credit card so they just billed the two hours and there was nothing I could do about it. Needless to say, the way Manning conducts business is misleading and dishonest. A customer should either be quoted a total amount to do the job, or quoted an hourly rate and then charged the actual number of hours it took to compete the work. They are exhibiting bad business practices and a misleading quotation process. read more

They came out to take a look at our pool heater that had been left disconnected by the previous owner. The first time they came out they notice the heater was not connected to the pump. They left and did not call us, so we had to call them to have them come back out to reconnect the heater to the pump to see if the heater works (we just bought the house). So we called to schedule them to come back out. They came back out and realized they needed a part to reconnect the pump to the heater, and they left and did not call to discuss or reschedule. They came back out again and they reconnected our pool heater to the pump only to find that it leaks. They left it that way leaving our good pump unusable. Guess what? They did not call to give us an estimate to fix the heater, nope they just left with a leaky heater connected to our pump. REALLY BAD SERVICE, ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION. Anyone who knows anything about pools knows you can't leave it the pump off for too long. Don't use this service, you deserve better. read more

I am not usually the type of person that takes the time to create an account just to write a review for a company. I think that in this day and age, good customer service should be the standard. A company delivering on what they promised, and doing it in a pleasing manner, is in my opinion, what should be expected. Average is not something that should be shouted from the hilltops. It should be expected! But...When a company, or an individual employee, cares enough, to go far beyond the extra mile, and exceeds all expectations, I believe that acknowledgement and credit should be given. I have been taking care of the pool myself since we moved in about two years ago. I have never been a pool owner before, and quite frankly, it has been quite the learning process! I am by no means an expert. For every pool issue that has come up, I usually spend a good 4-6 hours online after work trying to find the solution. I have gone though many frustrating, expensive, and trying times for sure. But, I take pride in trying to do it myself, and trying to save a buck or two whenever possible. That being said... I recently had an issue that I was unable to solve by myself. Thank goodness my neighbor recommended Manning Pools to me. My wife's parents were flying in town and my wife invited a bunch of friends and family to come over for a pool party. I checked the pool and noticed a HUGE problem. There was a layer of cream colored powdery crud covering the bottom of my pool. I called Manning Pools late in the afternoon and explained my situation. Even though it was after closing hours they were able to have a pool technician come over that same evening. They not only fixed my filter issue same day, but were able to clean up my pool as well. Gratefulness is an understatement. Forgive my language, but Manning Pools really saved my ass. When you have In-laws coming in for the first time to see your house and swim in your pool, It is beyond wonderful to know that there is a company out there that not only provides great service, but is empathetic to real life situations and is willing to go the extra mile to provide exemplary service. Buyer Beware. I called this company to assess my pool equipment and quote necessary repairs. The next available appointment date was several days out. Apparently they're busy, ok I get that. Shortly after, they called me back wanting my CC info to charge me in advance for the $85.00 service call. Fine... time is money, I get that too (reluctantly). Days later the service tech finally arrived. The whole session seemed rushed and the information given somewhat stealth. The tech seemed to want to move on to the next appointment as quick as possible. They're in business to make money, I get that... I just wanted a clear understanding of the problems with my pool and get something for my $85.00. The quote that was promised later that day or the day after was not received until several days later. The quote contained replacement pool lights at nearly a 30% markup, which were a downgrade from my current set-up. After asking for a revised quote to include comparable lights, they responded that a revised quote would be forthcoming. That revised quote never arrived. I asked repeatedly via email and VM... still no response. I guess that $85.00 service fee will only go so far, but apparently not far enough to achieve reasonable basic expectations from this pool service company. So I'm out of $85.00 and will likely have to start over with another pool company that's more reliable. read more

We have used Manning Pool for weekly cleans and service. In all, they have been good. Their service manager (Kyle) was excellent when helping us with a problem that we encountered with our home warranty company. The customer service has always been great as well. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the turnover with their pool cleaners is high and it seems like there is always a new guy in my backyard. I've never had any problems with them and I know that they do background checks on all new employees, but it still makes me nervous that multiple people have access to my gate code to get in my backyard. read more

Their manager Kyle was very patience and helpful when we signed onto service, and answered any questions we had. We love the cleaner we had assigned to us, Ashley!
