Great causal spot to people watch as you eat delicious food. Came here for lunch after strolling the beach. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. I had the amazingly delicious chickpea and pumpkin burger which was topped with tomato relish, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and served with a side of fries and coleslaw. The burger was perfectly crispy outside while maintaining a soft and flavorful center and the fries were perfectly crisp and the coleslaw was very good as well. My boss had the crocodile burger which he loved. He's been here more than once and it's his go to plate. If you want a casual place to people watch, relax, and eat good food this is definitely your spot.

We had read some positive reviews about Manly Grill Seafood & Steakhouse online, but it was not until the last day we arrived at Manly beach, that we decided to check them out for lunch. Both of us ordered the 'Crocodile burger' with side of fries and onion rings. When we got our burgers, they were steaming hot. The way they were wrapped ensured they stayed nice and hot until the very last bite - which we both loved! The double cheese and bacon added a whole lot of extra flavour to the delicious burger. The addition of onion rings was a smart choice. They were nice and big, and gave a different taste to the burger. The lettuce, tomato and onion accompanied by the trucker sauce all tied into the burger well. Their fries had visible seasoning and were also lovely and hot. It is very easily accessible with beautiful view and beach sidewalk which is always a plus. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic which was pleasant. The burgers were very reasonably priced for their size - costing us $18 each.

    Croc burger - delicious!

Wonderful for lunch! In my opinion, Manly Grill has the most enticing menu on the strip. I had the crocodile burger which was perfection! The Bloody Mary I drank was the spiciest I've had in my life, so beware! It was flavorful but took the entire meal to finish due to the spice. I would absolutely come back here!

Great quick feed, but overpriced for what you actually get. Had the pomegranate cocktail, which was good, and ordered a kids meal of fish and chips.

    Pork ribs, full rack

We were seated straightaway without a reservation, on the Monday of a long weekend. The food was yummy - stand outs for me included the pork ribs and the fried calamari entree. It was pretty busy despite being a weeknight, but far from being full. As we sat there, I noticed a lot of people walking past and having a look at the menu. Perhaps they didn't stay because of the price - $48 for a full rack of ribs. If I was in the area and feeling like a splurge, I'd come back.

It's a good place to share some entrees among friends so you can try more things out. Highly recommend the following three off of the entree menu: fried squid, baked scallops and the hot wings. Will definitely be back again to try the remainder of the menu (and there are ALOT of options). Location is great for beach views.

Fire and Ice Manly is one of those restaurants where you could absolutely sit there all afternoon,…read moreand well into the evening for many reasons. 1) The food is amazing 2) The staff are delightful 3) The view is incredible We went on an early evening one Saturday night are were greeted with quite possibly the nicest staff you'll ever meet. Sharon and David, the owners have been in the restaurant industry since their teens and have owned and run a few steakhouses in their time. They previously owned Ribs and Burgers for 18 years. They have since opened Fire and Ice, an ocean front restaurant in Manly with a concept serving raw meats, smoked meats, grilled meats and plenty of seafood. David knows his stuff, and certainly knows his meats. We took his advice and went for a 400g dry aged steak, served with fries and salad. The steak was incredible and cooked to our request. Having just returned from Argentina, we feel that we do know our steaks. We would certainly recommend a visit here for their meat. Top this off with a glass of red and you're set. We couldn't go past seafood on this visit, given we were at a beachside location. We ordered tuna tataki, so fresh and accompanied by a wasabi aioli and soy. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the kingfish was so fresh and beautifully presented on a salt slab, marinated with lemon and lime, olive oil, chilli, capsicum, coriander and chives. The seafood here is quality and certainly a must and there's even a seafood platter that would be a great option for sharing. The menu is one of the biggest you'll find, not only in size, but the amount of menu options. Oysters to small bites, both hot and cold including a few dishes reflective of the owners' South African heritage. There are plenty of pastas, burgers, ribs and side salads to select from. There's also vegetarian options for those that prefer this. Steak though, is their specialty, as you enter you can see their aged locker of the beef options, and you can have fillet or sirloin on the bone, rib eye or a T-bone. You can read about the suppliers of this quality steak in the back of their menu. Sharon is possibly one of the best front of house managers we've met. She is so kind and welcoming and we really appreciated her hospitality. You can tell her experienced with the first greeting. There are some large and private areas too, so you could certainly hire this out for a party.

Great food. Great service. Staff is very willing to alter dishes to your liking. Ten thumbs upread more

She remained friendly, bubbly and more than helpful. Offering us a smaller table thinking they had cancelled. Probably didn't want to waste the large table but we also did look a bit lonely sitting their nearly empty. Again staff in general were polite in moving us on as the last table and having gone beyond their closing time of 9:30pm. Also having to tell one of our guests that the kitchen had closed (they wanted dessert), whilst I lowered my head in annoyance at the request. I don't know if they always split bills but after a membership card was presented for the 10% discount they proceeded to take more of their time to accomodate this. Now to the food. Arriving to check in our reservation, we were passed by 2 enormous trays of food that I later found out were sharing platters. One ordered at our own table consisting of rib eye steak, ribs and sides. Bring your hunger game! A semi seafood platter also available. My partner and I ordered the 10oz rib eye (medium as standard) with saloon sauce for him and chipotle bernaise for me. The steak looked.... different. Putting it down to the slow cooked process? Tasted amazing regardless. But be warned, the steaks appear to be coated or dry rubbed with chilli flakes. I didn't mind it at all but my partner said his mouth was on fire. I tried his and disagreed strongly. Maybe his threshold was low that night. The side of chips were well seasoned and it was nice to have veggies included over salad. If I had to be negative I'd say the Texas toast could have been done better. Dry due to the thickness and needed more garlic flavour. Already have them in mind for a return trip for my birthday.

People probably not aware of this place cause its only open from 12pm on fridays & Saturdays and every other day is open fron 5pm. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you notice all the old school Fire station memorabilia hung up all over the walls :)!! So the the name Fire house Grill is the perfect name for this place :). Was here at the restaurant for a mother's day dinner with the family to beat the hustle & bustle rush of the real mothers day tomorrow :)!! We ordered a mixed entrée with, ribs off the bone, tasty pork belly with a creamy slaw topping, king prawns with a crumbed cheese coating, haloumi cheese, salad with 2 dipping sauces (garlic & tzatziki). For dinner majority had fillet mignone with chips salad and dipping sauce of your choice, i had a oven roasted duck with a tasty salad and mum had the braised beef cheek which tasted a bit over cooked and dry byt all the other maibs were very nice :)!! For dessert 2 people had the mango creme Bruleé which was outstanding, my sister had a perfection sticky date pudding which is never served big enough to satisfy your needs lol & i had a freesh fruit & Cheese platter with a peppermint tea.. the perfect tasty end to a nice dinner night out with the family :)!! Really enjoyed dining at this place.. been here about 4 times now and would recommend it to anyone i know .. and must mention again that while waiting for your food to come out and if you weren't conversing it was really nice to stare around the restaurant & study all the fire house memorabilia they had to offer :)

Well, today we're checking out Bistecca... a steakhouse speakeasy of sorts! Here's how it went and why it was rated #45 of the top 101 steakhouses in the entire world... Atmosphere/Appearance: Deep in downtown Sydney hidden in an alleyway in the entrance to this literal hidden gem. Lol. Once through the door and down the stairs you're taken to a very dark dimly lit, but very old-school looking tavern. It's a small room, but essentially a waiting room/cocktail lounge for you. Once it's your turn to head into the dining room the door open to the brightly lit room, your phones are locked away in a drawer which you have access to via a key and you're guided to your seat! I LOVED this experience because now you're forced to just live and be in the moment. The kitchen is wide open and you can see everything that's happening. The tables and chairs are scattered throughout the room and you just, BE. Like the good 'ol days before smart phones. Service: I can't remember the name of our server, but he was excellent. We had no issues at all. Food: The menu is extremely simple. You're here for steak. That's it. The steak is sold in 100g increments. So you order by weight. We ordered 900g and the steak was so incredible we both wish we could've gone to maybe 1.2kg. Lol. That's a LOT of steak still, but this does include the weight of the bone. The feature is a large, T-bone steak cut from Australian-grown Chianina cattle and grilled over charcoal. It's recommended to be cooked medium-rare. It seriously was Heavenly. I don't even remember what sides we got. That's how good this steak was. Lol. Value: The steak is $19 AUD ($11.84 USD) per 100 grams (3.5 oz). The conversion can trip you up, so for example, the ORIGINAL steakhouse in NYC (Delmonico's) sells their 18 oz. T-Bone for $76.00 USD. The same size steak here would cost you around $65.00 and it's the #45 best steakhouse in the world. Delmonico's is not even on that list. Do what you wish with that information. Lol. The sides were appropriately priced. In conclusion, I LOVED this place and so did my wife. We still think about Bistecca years after we've been there and it's 100% worth making some good reservations as far in advance as possible because this place is small and will always be packed!
