I got a recommendation for this restaurant from the first person I met in Sydney. As a well…read moretraveled connoisseur, I made a point to stop in, as I am wont to do. The service? Excellent. The Ambiance? Upscale whilst low-key. The menu? A master class in excellence and diversity blended seamlessly. Walking in fresh off the ferry, dressed more for adventure than fine dining, I was seated immediately. While I was sipping my sparkling water and perusing the menu, they subtly removed the chair across from mine at my table. As I eat alone these days, this discrete show of respect for the solo dining experience was unexpected and appreciated. An opening volley of well-herbed focaccia and a fernet was swiftly followed by a lovingly shot-prep'd half dozen rock oysters. On to a delightfully well priced bottle of Marlborough Pinot Gris, an offering of some lovely variety of crustaceans called "bugs"in the local vernacular, and a perfectly wood-smoked filet of fish atop crisp green-beans. With this, I would have been a happy diner. But, I pressed on to a panna cotta which defies qualification and a glass of Armagnac which closed out the evening for me. If you're in Sydney, this is a must visit. If you're not in Sydney, this is worth the trip.

(Mainly if you are Asian) The front desk Aussie said "you're not just gon order some nibbles right?…read moreGoing to actually get mains?" And was bit rushing and zero patience in her tonality and delivery when talking to us. Didnt like how she had to even ask that. Even when taking orders, there was a slight sprinkle of condescending speaking. Food is good at least though but bad rng just walking in and getting that person. Also the bites had no bay bugs in them, just mac n cheese. Also had to get to waiter to pay instead of them coming to you.

I keep on returning to Sea Change because of the wide menu selection the flexibility in service,…read more(they will accommodate almost any change to any meal (including half sizing their generous portions)) and the quality fresh ingredients that make for delicious eating. My go to's are - "veg out Brekkie" the kumera cakes are tasty as. "acai bowl" a healthy kick start to the day that could be mistaken for a dessert. "The salads" an envious filling main meal, "The paella" I ask for the chorizo added and a little added chilli for me too. "The sea-change tasting platter" says for two but easily feeds three. "Chicken burger" big, messy & yum. Coffee is decent. I will return and drag friends there also.

Literally all of them, like some giant baby has been using them as toys and is jamming them all into one room of a huge Barbie play house for it's own infantile amusement. It doesn't make any sense, only, it totally does. The cafe is Seachange. and the reason it's so beloved by locals is three-fold: the servings are huge (no fleck of steak on a giant white plate here), they're happy to change absolutely anything on your order without any pissy whining or "No, the chef would kill me" type excuses, and the staff and management are unbelievably friendly. Wulf (sp?) made sure our group got a table inside to protect the little baby we had with us from the sun, and even though he was run off his feet stopped by the table a few times to drop jokes. I had the acai brekky bowl with banana and strawberry and bircher, at $15.90 it's the healthiest way to start the day while still feeling like you're eating ice cream. The Local with tons of bacon, eggs, and a potato rosti is also a winner, as is, oh, pretty much anything on the menu. When you're done, slop across the road and roll about on the beach like a walrus. Trust me, it's great.

I probably shouldn't call it a Manly Pub, or even a beach side pub, though in a way it did have some charm about it that made me think that it was quite okay. Actually, I guess it was the outdoor area that did it to an extent, though it also had a nice feel about it inside. The staff were pretty good, and the place was quite relaxing, though it really isn't one of the best that I've visited.

When the platter was served it looked AMAZING!!! There was a mix of fresh seafood - oysters, balmain bugs and prawns, as well as cooked seafood including a mountain of calamari, battered fish, battered prawns and a huge bowl of chips... it was served with a huge amount of fresh fruits including mango, pineapple, watermelon, orange, strawberries, raspberries, passionfruit, blueberries, honeydew melon... basically everything!! The other dish - the mussels - were delicious!! There is a choice of a tomato based sauce or a creamy white wine sauce for them... we chose the tomato - it was great, and served with a baguette for dipping. The salad was the only average dish, as I think it was outshined by the other dishes but all in all the meal was GREAT and I would definitely recommend this place!! I would also like to point out how welcoming and attentive the staff were!!! - GREAT service for us!
