The location is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant is located on the actual Harbor where all the nice yachts are docked. The restaurant is very simple and very elegant. You get a very good French feeling from the decor. I ordered the beluga caviar from Iran and the seafood platter. The seafood plater picture speaks for itself, wonderful. The tuna sashimi was super, the shrimp fresh, the oysters incredible, the yellowtail with mandarin and radish, superb, the mayonnaised mussels, yummy but the best part was the caviar. Pure heaven

Looking for a restaurant on the wharf near Mrs. Macquarie's Chair Park I made a dinner reservation here for my friend's birthday. Online it says they don't open until 6pm but it had clearly been open earlier than that. Anyhow we got here right before 6pm and were seated right away. The restaurant had decently good food, however it was too expensive for a place with such a limited view and lots of cigarette smoke from people smoking on the wharf was irritating. The crab lasagna was a bit on the fishy side but I loved the trout I ordered. It was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy and flaky on the inside. I didn't expect it to come without a side (either veggie or carb) so I ordered the $19.95 truffle fries once I was halfway through the meal. Those arrived once I was finished with my dish and were good, but definitely not $19.95 good. That is overpriced even at the fanciest restaurants back home. The server told my friend the lasagna would be enough for a meal, which was completely false. He also made a face at me when he tried to take away the 3/4 full plate of truffle fries and I told him I'd like them to-go as a "takeaway." Perhaps the language was confusing since a takeaway is what they call meals to go in NZ and AUS but his face was way too judgmental for my taste. If you're going to charge $19.95 for fries, handcut or otherwise, you had better assume people want to take them home with them when they are ready for the check.

You've got fabulous seafood across Sydney, but Manta pairs it with a top notch atmosphere and great service to boot. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? It doesn't really get better than enjoying fresh seafood while overlooking the marina, and Manta builds upon these qualities with great service. I'm not sure Manta would be my first choice for a more intimate dinner or business meeting given how dense the outdoor seating area is packed, but for some afternoon drinks it's tough to beat. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Manta gets away with some notably high pricing given their location, but it's not unreasonable. The Seafood Risotto can easily feed two while make its $55.00 price tag fair play, and a comparable price for the massive Seafood Pie makes it such that you can escape from Manta without having to give away your shirt in lieu of payment. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? All of our dishes were excellent, with the Seafood Pie being without question the standout dish. The risotto wasn't the best seafood iteration I've had and I didn't hear my colleague raving about the fillet, but in all this was a great experience. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Without a doubt, and I'm quickly finding there's sparsely a well acclaimed Sydney restaurant that I wouldn't be excited to re-visit. Star.

This is a great spot and highly recommended for those special nights. The food is delicious with a great list of wines, the waiters are attentive without being over bearing. This is one of my favourite restaurants on the harbour.

I liked this place so much I went back twice during my trip and it was my favorite place I dined at in Sydney. The setting is idyllic in the Woolloomooloo harbor, with is lovely wharves and picturesque homes and shops right on the harbor We ate outside both nights and were treated to beautiful sunsets while we dined. The service a Manta was impeccable and everyone was very friendly and had a great sense of humor- always appreciated for me! The food is just plain amazing. I love seafood so anytime I get to have the freshest of the fresh I am a happy camper. I think between the two nights we probably sampled close to the entire menu and there was not a single item I would not recommend. My favorites were the crab and lobster choices though. I like to pick out my food at the source so I relished the chance to choose the fattest crab and lobster for our meal. I also appreciated the huge bib I received upon ordering the crab- I really needed it and am considering on making this a permanent fixture for myself when dining; it would help my dry cleaning bill. The crab was outstanding - delectably sweet and succulent, it was worth all of the effort of cracking and sucking and getting literally covered in crab. I have rarely enjoyed a meal more. Dessert at Manta deserves a review onto itself. I think we ordered the entire menu. I liked the lychee sorbet with berries- so fresh and full of flavorful! The cheese board was also very impressive. We finished our night off with a nightcap of exquisite port and then we had to be rolled back to our hotel- only to do it all again the next night! I would highly recommend Manta and still have dreams about how incredible that crab was!

It's strange when I visited Woolloomooloo for my first time, this restaurant was empty but the others were full. Not sure if they're new? I needed to eat quickly so I gave it a try and I'm so glad I did. The staff was so nice, so accommodating and quick. We did two of the tasting menu options and they brought all of them out on this gorgeous tray. The food was very good! I would go back for sure

5 Stars for the location, on the water & a great spot to observe the locals; seemed like the spot on a Sunday afternoon where all the beautiful people wanted to be. Be prepared to go-big as this was the most expensive place I ate while in NSW / Sydney. The Ibérico Jamon stater was fantastic. A bit thicker than I've seen it sliced in other places but it's so good I'd eat it off the bone if given the opportunity! I ordered the Mud Crab that was flown in from the North. Always looking for a unique experience, this was a no-brainer. While the flavor of the crab was average, I guess that's what to expect from the creature living in mud. It wasn't worth the $220, I've had bay crabs in the US that blew this out of the water that cost $12 per dozen. overall a good experience, bring your wallet & prepare to spend big bucks.

We came on a Sunday at 1:00P and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Most tables are on the covered outdoor patio with just a few others inside the open air setting. We started off with a raw plate to share, followed by individual entrées. + SALMON CEVICHE (A$28): Thin slices of salmon in a bright zesty citrus soy dressing, with dollops of avocado cream and lime aioli. The salmon was so smooth, buttery and super fresh. I rarely eat ceviche since I usually don't care for citrus flavors, but I enjoyed this since the salmon remained the star of the plate. + DAINTREE BARRAMUNDI FILLET GRILLED (A$38): A perfectly sized fillet was delicate, moist and didn't have any bones! The skin was grilled and crisp like a chip. Normally, I'm not a fan of skin on fish, but this was impeccable. A few cauliflower florets in a flavorful chermoula added a bold punch. I also loved the salted barra croquette, a fritter of potato and barramundi, which was fried to a golden brown and light inside. All of this was on top of a fresh mint yogurt which rounded out this very cohesive dish. Others in my group enjoyed the swordfish fillet and the fish of the day, which was a mahi mahi. Our waitress enticed us with two desserts which all of us shared as a sweet ending. + DARK CHOCOLATE PARFAIT (A$18): A rich chocolate pudding layered with Queen Garnet plums and topped with large chocolate shavings. The pudding was creamy and rich while the ripe plums added sweetness with a hint of tartness. + TOASTED COCONUT & MANGO CRUMBLE (A$16): A delightful refreshing coconut sorbet came with juicy cubes of fresh mango on top. Some granola crumbles provided crunch and substance to an otherwise light dessert. I never would have guessed this is both gluten-free and dairy-free. Our server was excellent and took wonderful care of us by checking back and keeping our waters full. We appreciated her recommendations as well. On top of the great service and delicious food, every dish had a lovely presentation and the pricing was reasonable for the quality of each plate.
